Hey man, I hate those guys that saying that everything that is not most new or expensive is shit. Personally I think that 1050+ and higher graphics cards are still legit. I built a pc for my friend with rx580 8gb and it still runs cs2 (~150fps) and even capable of cyberpunk. You doing a great job, continue!

Here is some information to help you. There are ways to get good results with slower RAM DDR3 on some different systems like an FX8320 vishera _(or fx8350 would do similar),_ especially with the 1050 Nvidia as a 4GB version _(which is helps Vulkan actually do better than 2GB whereas the 2GB is more like fine for DX11 and OpenGL)._ An Fx8320 _(sometimes with voltage tweaks and BCLK but that is not always necessary)_ is meant to expect DDR3 at 1600Mhz _(sometimes faster)_ but people do get it running wit 1333MHz DDR3 which is technically a performance loss a wee bit but really it still works great. So for instance, if people have 4 RAM slots, they can acquire DDR3 at 1333MHz in 2GB sticks to make 8 GB RAM, and each stick is about 10 pence used-market _(keeping in mind such RAM often comes free included in a Motherboard bundle on the used market, so a person might not even need to purchase all 40 pence worth of RAM, maybe only spending 30p or 20p on the RAM)._ It is almost free now to get such RAM where it is less than a quid to kit out 2 computers. Every penny thereby saved on not spending on RAM (saving a few bucks) means it can go towards the 4GB version of the graphics card costing.
As an aside, an older Linux kernel can be an interesting extra test for HTOP and MangoHUD in OpenGL and Vulkan games. While proton and WINE and bottles and so on are ways to run MSWindows versions of games, there are Linux native games too, including some open-source like SuperTuxKart and use cases for Blender3D which can sometimes be like Ogre3D 3D graphics use-cases. Pass-through VMDq and SR-IOV are _(depending on the motherboard and if it has SLAT)_ other ways to benefit depending on what matters to you in 3D graphics or gaming use-cases. The Linux distro _"T2 Rene Rebe"_ is worth looking into also.
If you are not intending to use an SSD, running a RAID configuration with two identical HDD drives can speed up performance and access time and can with stand SAWP file or pagefile (virtual-memory) HDD usage. Remember the UltimateBoot CD (538) can _(especially with HirensBoot CD or DVD old and new versions)_ test and benchmark RAM and test HDD plus helps system imaging and backup, by means of its linux, DOS and BSD included software. even 7zip benchmarking can provide some insights towards performance in different applications.
My comment has no hate in it and I do no harm. I am not appalled or afraid, boasting or envying or complaining... Just saying. Psalms23: Giving thanks and praise to the Lord and peace and love. Also, I'd say Matthew6.

Howzit man, ive been playing old games on a old Mecer i5 3470, 16gb ram (bought from SHEIN), 500gb hdd and on integrated graphics... been playing games old games like CoD Black Ops at 800x600, getting 50+ Fps... Even an online multiplayer FPS called Combat Master also getting over 50+ FPS Average which is nuts considering... Currently building my gaming pc, specs are Ryzen 5 3600, B450 Aorus Elite V2, Klevv 2x8gb ddr4 4000mhz, 1tb msi spatium nvme, montech sky 2 case (won from a giveaway) and an RX 5700 XT... just waiting to get the last item which is the PSU... so far ive spent in total around R7500 for all the parts with patience and deal hunting. cant wait to get this build completed, probably took me around 7 months so far😅

Just built a super budget box in the case of an old media centre PC. It's was thrown out so free case, 1TB rust spinner, 500 watt PSU. €30 B85 motherboard, E3 1270 V3 (4770 sort of) €16, 16Gb DDR3 1600mhz €7.98 €5 cooler. Basically everyone from AliExpress plus a super cheap 500GB SSD I had lying around. Then I found a deal on a low profile 1050 ti for €50. All in about €115 and honestly it plays everything if turned down a bit. I have been having a riot playing Control and cyberpunk on it. It's nowhere near high end but honestly it's just fun gaming on low-end kit. Like driving an old mini as fast as possible, sometimes getting the most out of low end kit is more fun than splashing lots of kit on a high end machine

The best I argument I have against these elitists types, is that people looking to min max on this level generally aren't trying to play games that cost ≈$70, or more. They often forget about how many games are playable on a 1050. Their best counter could be esports titles, since they're free to play, but most of those are going to more dependent on the CPU at competitive settings. CoD is one of the few exceptions to that. These people get caught up in their own use case an apply it to everyone, and most of them have overkill hardware TBH.
Excellent video. A message that more people need to hear to drown out the elitists.

id say it's a pretty solid system tbh. i do have a 3700x and gtx 970 (mainly because i got these parts from e waste), but id be perfectly fine with an optiplex 9020 tbh, which was my old pc which had an i7-4790 and gtx 1050 ti, also from e waste. i kinda want to upgrade my gpu but at the same time..... do i really need to? is really the question,
id say these builds are still capable in 2024. i dont care about how these people say "ohh these things are garbage or are obsolete." For the average user, these should be perfectly fine. Idealy though you would want 16 gigs of ram these days (but that's just me lol). Other than that, solid build tbh.Not everyone plays these triple a games anyways.

i love that. really, I completly agree in what u say, I just love the approach for little money - I do that for fun, just to build one, would love to show you my optiplex upgrade - I did put an gtx 1060 in, which I moded with a 120mm aio watercooling radiatior in the front. it has 16gb ddr3, but its an ivy bridge 4c8t, yet it runs really good with the 1060. funny thing, I did top it off with a scythe big shurikan cpu cooler, its such a tight fit and its just awesome! the PC is nearly silent and the most golden thing about all of that is, I did it with the standard dell psu. gosh, I really love those little project. ah, and it has an bx500 ssd in it, just budget, but awesome. I did play elden ring and borderlands 3 on it, omg I have to boot it right now!

1050 can play games at 1080p low, mid/high mix, some games at 60-90fps some at 40-45, some games in 720p but its still playable not everyone plays shooters or online shooters so you need no 1000000fps in 4k :D
