Hey Guys, I’m Alex Etches and I’m a golf professional and product reviewer. If you don’t know me, I started playing golf from 10 years old, turned professional at 22 in the UK, and have been creating entertaining and informative golf content on different platforms for the last 10 years. My home is now AUSTRALIA and I hope to take you around some of the best golf courses from down under.

I've been a lifelong single digit handicapper. For the last few years have been playing TM irons. First the 09 burners, then the PSIs, and finally the P790 irons. My index was steadily rising up to over 10 and I was contemplating giving up the game, primarily cause I couldn't hit irons with a crap anymore. My club pro gave me a set of these to demo. By the 10th hole I called the pro shop and told him to order me a set. My index is back down into the 5's. Golf is fun again. These things are scary.
Great video Al. I'm usually not a big loft guy, a number one the bottom is a reference for you for what club for which distance. However, every once in awhile the "that's not a X iron that's a Z iron!" Thought pops into my head, that was happening at the end and your "who cares?!" put it in perspective again. The fact is even though these are strong lofted, they have the flight and they are stopping.
Al, youre pumping out FIRE vids man! I love everything from the on course vids to the ch-AL-ange series! Keep em coming!!
T2T because I bought the T300 on your review and I still love them
I am enjoying your video, you mix humor really well.
T2T ... Hi Al I have Wilson D300 Irons which were the strongest lofted irons when they came out in 2017. The loft for that Titleist T400 6 Iron you say is 23 degrees .. well that's my 5 iron!! Simply crazy!!
Rickie Fowler had 2 of these 'types' of irons in his bag during the skins game this weekend. 3 rusty Cobra wedges, Copper PW - 5 iron blades, and then another 6 & 5 in these types of monsters as his 4 & 3 iron type lofted clubs - so even the greatest golfers in the world are doing it - nevermind that Rory and DJ are both playing the Sim Hybrid this year
Ch-AL-lange make all T irons hit the same shape, spin, apex & distance.
And as always T2T2T2T2T (T100-2-T100S-2-T200-2-T300-2-T400)
Loft wise it's stronger than my 4 iron and the length is in between my 5 and 6 so I'm impressed they got it to spin so much.
I was about to say those 6i numbers (except the spin) are the same as my driver LOL. Then you started hitting it even farther so now I can't say that. Thanks a lot Al! BTW, ...
T2T - T300 vs. 'this baby', yeah?
Are you testing the titleist concept irons. Love the videos keep it up T2T
I'd love to see a Ch AL lenge of you hitting your normal numbers with irons and driver using either the Channel Lock swing or the Jim Venetos golf swing. That would be fun
T2T, just the way to start the day... laughing. Thanks Al
T2T if you get a hold of a CNCPT irons would love to see the comparison with the T series. Good work mate keep it up.
T2T - this is the exact question I’d like answered!
Funny and informative... my favourite combo
**Clubhead Speed was having a real off day. Didn’t read on occasion and gave some crazy numbers. However, the important thing is the Ball speed was accurate 👍....so it’s your fault!
T2T. I wish you still did the hi/lo draw/fade stinger at the end of the review Al.
What more do I want? More al videos!!!
Alex, what does the gap look like at the end of the range? What are the lofts and carry of the PW and GW? Basically, would you need to add 6 wedges to your bag to cover off the
T2T, We need more Al!!!
23* 6 iron! It’s the same as my Adams Red 4 hybrid! 😳
Would love to see if they would make a 2, 3 & 4 iron in the future! How far would they go?
YOU WERE WAILING AT THOSE! We normally have about the same club head speed, but 113 for a 6 iron? That's nuts.
Al your thoughts on these the wilson d9, ping g425 and cobra speedzone which is what I'm looking at please
I don’t think Titleist is being deceptive as they are disclosing the lofts. I agree that the number on the club is not comparable but these clubs are serving a different market and golfer. I watched a fitting for this iron for a senior golfer and it made a huge difference in distance and dispersion. Yeah, it’s not for everyone but no need to dismiss it. BTW, I think Al could hit the 5 iron close to 300 if fitted properly!
Here’s an idea make a set of clubs just using 6 irons. T400, t300 etc ending on Tiger irons.
I play Titleist 695 MB irons. My 6 iron is 32 degrees. In fact the 3 iron is only one degree stronger than the 6 iron in T400. Nowadays they might as well just stamp the loft degree on the iron instead of assigning an iron number like with wedges.
T2T ... you're a funny bastard. Love these reviews. Great for a friday arvo with a beer.
T300 V T400 T2T please Alex! Especially on course testing, not studio Trackman....
Suggestion for retro review but good luck finding them. I still play cleveland ta3 gun metal irons (15 year old or so). They are a forged players iron with minimal offset.....
edwardschlupp didn’t Vijay play those same irons for awhile back in the day?
Two questions. How many clubs are there between PW and the Cleveland SW? Would you go competition with these and will you win?
A 65 year old with slow swing speed would salivate at these. Great review!
Me. 68 with slow swing speed. I need those
T2T, because more Al
Crazy idea to have lofts as strong as that! It'll narrow the distance gap at the driver end of the bag, I never buy irons for distance
Would be interesting to see a comparison do a similar and "traditional" lofted iron to see what the differences in ball flights are. Eg: why would you use a traditional lofted 3 iron vs this 6 iron.
Mark Crossfield recently did that test, strong lofted game improvement vs blade, same loft, same shaft length etc. Got 2 degrees more launch with the Game Improvement vs the blade, which is a club difference.
What is your normal 6 iron carry distance, os that we can see how much further this goes?
T2T. Wow.. that’s something else. I don’t think we can fault companies for making clubs like this , there is obviously a demand for it. I’m gaming mavrik irons and loving the distance I’m getting. Golf is more fun when you are occasionally putting for birdie.. I’ve taken lessons and they help for sure but so does technology.
“Wondering how far it’s going to go” is the quality I’m looking for in an iron 😂
T2T bud! Love your videos!
Big haha. Love the content Al !
Just bought a set!
Have you hit the titleist u510 in a 1 iron? I think you can get 300yds with it.
T2T, I’m thinking about changing irons and the T400 with a 48, and 53 degree T300 wedge are “strong” candidates.
golf clubs are opening now!!!!!
Finallllllllyyyyyyyy! (The Rock Voice)
I'd like to see Kyle Berkshire smash T400 5 iron properly fitted 💥🔥
Why? That dudes a fraud. Just cranks you the monitor to make it look like he hits it far. His swing can’t generate that kind of speed.
Big Diesel he’s literally a world champion long driver lolol
@@_BigDiesel_ www.golfchannel.com/video/2019-world-long-drive-kyle-berkshire-407-title-winner He's the reigning long drive champ man. He's not a fraud.
I agree man, I'd LOVE to see Kyle smash one of those. I bet he gets that 5 iron 310, maybe even 320 with the right shaft.
@@_BigDiesel_ have you actually seen his LD swing??? Dude looks like he can actually hit it into space
The PW is 38*. That's crazy. If you want to cover your gaps properly you may need to carry 5 wedges in total.(PW, 44/45*, 50-52*, 54-56*, 60*) I guess it could be feasible if you hit the 5 iron long and good enough that you can cover the gap between your 3W and 5I with just one club.
Driver, 3W, 5w/4H, 5-9I, 5 wedges and a putter puts you at 14 clubs. So I guess it's feasible but you could be sacrificing alot of potential gapping problems to chase the extra distance. Could be worth it for the right player that really needs help with distance but I think unfortunately many of the people that buy these aren't necessarily that "right player" but instead people that just want to stroke their egos and "out iron" their friends when in reality they would've been better served with weaker lofts.
How are you suppose to gap those down to short wedges?
Another good one Al, when pitching wedge goes 192 miles you would only need 12 wedges to fill the gap! 🤔
Only 5.!!
So, with normal gapping, you need to carry 6 wedges?
T2T. Titleisty, an aesthetic traditional golf club that can be refined like the 620 MB or a beasty like the T400's.
👏👏👏👏👏
Also, I might just buy the 5 iron and retire my driver.
what would you put in the bag after the 5 iron ........... driver? also how far do they go at the other end
The cunts who buy these aren't concerned about gapping. All they care about is hitting is past their buddy Daniel when he's playing the AP2 irons. Ruining golf, honestly.
T2t. Let’s see it. We need another hole in one challenge. Best out of 3
I would take 260 off the tee for the rest of my life.
I would like to see T2T the T300 with the T400 please
T2T. Which one would go farther?
T2T!!!! Because you like smashing the ball and we like watching smash the ball.
At this rate you should be able to hit the 3 iron about 300yds...maybe a future Ch-AL-lenge!!
Okay Alexis You loved the mizuno clubs last week. Manufactures playing with degree of loft six months from now titelist will have new irons coming out that will be better. So find some instruments that you like and play them. Technology is wonderful but it costs you. Peace out brother!
T2T baby!
T2T, I guess I could replace my current driver with a T400 5 iron and gain some yardage.
Great video Al #T2T
WOW! Al, that's all i can say
#T2T Titleisty - elegant and sophisticated, designed to show that you are loaded!!
T2T, also I had 4(four!) lit power bank commercials during a 10 minute video. That’s a little much!
Not for me but I'm sure plenty of people will buy them 👍
I have seen less sole/soul in memphis (you can have that joke for free as its not very good).
And I think that was so offset that the hosel and the club face were in different time zones.
For me I think the backspin with that club would be somewhere between 17+33.
23*, holy sh*t that’s my 4 driving iron loft.
What is your swing speed?
4:26 T2T
T300 vs 'This baby'
Gonna have to start carrying 5-6 wedges to fill in the gaps as these irons keep getting stronger! First gap wedge will start around 40*, but people will be able to say they hit their gap 140...and isn’t that what it’s all about!
People have the ego sickness. Can't be hitting their 7 iron 150-160 anymore, it has to be 185 minimum to brag to their friends even though they swing their 7 iron 78 mph and can't hit their driver more than 220 carry. They'll pull out that 5 iron every time off the tee and talk about how they smash it 235.
Josh Lynch I still play an old set of Titliest 735CM’s with more traditional lofts. I’ve lost some distance over the years, but still hit them pretty well and score ok with them. Don’t see a need to change and don’t want or need to be able to say I hit my 7 iron 185. I’d just be lying to myself if I was hitting it further than 20 years ago. Take Care
@@brianh8801 Definitely. If you need more distance then club up! I've played Wilson FG Tour V4's for a while and I would take them 10/10 times over a massive, strong lofted cavity that hits it 20 yards further a club. Glad to see that people still value playing normally lofted clubs. Take care as well.
Josh Lynch I start clubbing up automatically around the 9th hole, and it’s helped me hit more consistently to the yardages I’m targeting. It was a pro tip I picked up on the Golf Channel in regard to one of the most common mistakes amateurs make, which was us not taking enough club as the round progresses. So I’ll go up 1-2 clubs depending on how late I am in the round, and overall fatigue. By doing so, my worst mistakes are usually close to pin high just off the green, versus 30 yards short and looking at my club like it’s at fault...like I see so many do! Ha!
Epic forged is of 24 in the 6 iron... wowza
I heard the 3rd shot hit Brenda's roof!.🥰
t400 vs epic forged t2t???
Got to be big guy T2T 🥰🥰🥰🥳
T2T, yes please!
T2T for sure!
Hehehe......if you would have these irons for the ch al ange where you tried to reach the huge yardage :-)
Would have been interesting to see what a 90mph club head speed gets you!
t2t lets goooo!!
Crazy. The 5 iron is 1° stronger than my 3 iron. I looked the other lofts up and just the pitching wedge is a 38°
lol that PW is 2 degrees weaker than my 8-iron. And that 6 is 1 degree weaker than my 4. Wow.
What about shaft length
That 6 iron out irons my driver
The pitching wedge is 38 degrees.
I can't get my driver anywhere near that distance. So very sad 😣😣😢
T2T of course!
4 HC struggle to carry my driver 230m , bugger me!
Could you put these in your bag ?
T2T go on!
In the Big Al mode , I will say TEE-TWO-TEE , :)
T2T. Just out of curiosity, how tall are you Al? I've seen you standing next to Matt from TXG who says he's average size and you look like an NFL linebacker compared to him ;)
I’m 6ft 4 / 193cm 👍👍
It's no wonder I feel a short knocker carrying my 7 iron 155.....
But hey, at least it has 34 degrees loft....
I know the vid is older but, I’ve got to look up the price tag and see if they’ve even considered the lefties
T 400 6 iron loft 23°
My 4 iron loft 23°
Nice, Big Al’s tasty Titleisty T400. Ridonculous.
Hahaha! Sounds like a crap restaurant
"Strong lofts are evil, we must protect the sanctity of the game from strong lofts, harrumph, harrumph, harrumph, harrumph, harrumph."
"Hey, I didn't get a harrumph out of that guy."
"Give the loft nazi a harrumph."
"Harrumph!"
"You watch your ass."
Playing Pebble on the 22nd. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m not jealous at all mate 😂😅😢
I feel you. They dropped the hotel-stay requirement and fees for NCGA members to help kick-start the play. Still not cheap, but I doubt there will be a lower price in my lifetime.
@@mattparsons946 Ooh, Spyglass is an even better bargain.
T2T now! And maybe your swing will come back from vacation~
T2T please. Titleisty - #TeamAl video 'Titles' that are very 'Zesty'. BOOM!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
The should replace the number with the deg on clubs. Because a 23 6 iron ins not a 6 iron. It's a a 3/4 iron.
T2T I want to see that
