When Roethlisberger and Brady were “Young Quarterbacks”
now they are a pair of hof goats, wild
Why you put them in quotes. They were young. This was Bens rookie season. He was like 22 or 23 tops.
Ken Cranston because that was the quote.

I miss this Steelers team. So many iconic players... Ward, the Bus, Randle El, Burress, Big Ben, so many more. I miss this team.
I miss the old NFL prior to them turning woke from idiot lib crowd

don't forget polumalu
Yes!
Agreed. And pretty much the start of that infamous Steelers/Ravens rivalry this year. Man what a time to be a fan.
Ben is one of the ultimate competiters. He's one of the hardest to take down, He's stretched some plays to make a good run. He's played with a broken thumb, a broken foot, his jaw wired, he's broken a good pile of records. The idea of sitting one out is simply not in his vocabulary. IMHO he should make the hall of fame.
Jacob Gonzalez he’s a first ballot, no question
@@the_light_rising1826 I agree.
He's a lock for the Hall.

Roethlisberger is the youngest QB to ever win a Super Bowl 😎
And is the only nfl player to have 3 500 + yard games
D J and hasn't been to one in years and is good at throwing interceptions
@@mrgeorgeleach7498 he's the only player to have a 500 yard game and not throw a interception
Doesn't he hold a record for most five td games? I know he has two sixes and at least two other 5s

I was at this game. You can hear in the video, the whole place was electric the entire game. What a memory!
@Business AsUsual its not too far fetched to believe someone was at a regular season football game....I mean they have like 60-100 thousand seats...lol
I was there too. We sat pretty high but it was the only game I’ve ever been to where it was loud from start to finish
Dude I was there also! Hell of a game!
I was there with Ellen
Solo King 21 so your telling me this season Heinz field is not loud because every Steelers game I ever watched on tv Heinz field has always been loud
The Steelers became the 1st AFC team to win 15 regular season games that year. Ben went undefeated from week 3 to the AFC Championship and would have won that game if not for NE knowing the hand signals and plays before the ball was even snapped. Ben and the Steelers had proven they were the far better team that year so NE resorted to cheating to make sure they won.
No. No, no, no, no, no. The Steelers lost because Ben lost it in the playoffs.
Ben was averaging 8.9 yards per attempt with a 98.1 passer rating in the regular season, throwing 17 TDs against 11 INTs. Then he hit the playoffs and laid an egg against the Jets, with 6.0 yards per attempt, 1 TD versus 2 INTs and a 57.8 passer rating. If not for Doug Brien missing TWO field goal attempts at the end of the game we never would have made it to the AFC Championship.
He played a little better against NE but was still way off his regular season performance. The Patriots didn't need to cheat to feast on his miscues.
They only lost the first game of the season when Tommy Maddox started, if i remember correctly. Ben went 15-0 as a starter in the regular season before losing to NE in the Divisional round or Conference championship. Can't remember which round of the playoffs.
Second game of the season, against Baltimore. They lost to NE in the Conference Championship. _Should_ have lost to the Jets in the divisional round, but the Jets' kicker blew attempts from 47 and 43 yards in the 4th quarter that would have put them on top, and Reed hit a 33-yarder in OT to give the Steelers the win.
Didn't pittsburgh miss a game winning FG in that one, too?
No, you must be thinking of a different game. Reed was 2-for-2 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points against the Jets. Against the Pats, we were never within a field goal after the first quarter.
The way Bettis unloaded on Rodney "CheapShot" Harrison made me jump. What a run.
Fuck yeah. Glad I wasn't the only one to see that. The. Roidney gets all illegal contact after the whistle cause he's a punk ads bitch. Only good at head hunting unsuspecting wide outs over the middle . Then he has the balls to criticize James Harrison a few years later when the league was making an example out of him, and 99 percent of james' hits were legal.
I smiled when they said Bettis was coming onto the field. Dude is still my favourite player and the main reason i became a Steeler fan. Miss watching him play!
They beat another undefeated team in the Eagles the following week. Both teams they beat would meet in the SB
ben roethlisberger is my favorite qb of all time and will always be my favorite #steelernation

Watching Bettis ram through defenders....... Ah the memories. And Hines doing his thang.
I remember when he first came in for Tommy Maddox that was the happiest day of my life as a Steeler fan born in 75
The first game he came in to cover for Maddox you could see this was a really good selection. Never forget the feeling of "wow we might have gotten the best qb out of the three"
I need this to happen again in 2018 and beyond!!!!!!
Did happen in 2018 and I believe we would've beat them again had we made it to the post season
Imagine this happens to mason roudolph
31 other fanbases were all Steeler fans on this day. By 2004, everyone outside of Boston was sick of the Patriots
I’ll never forget this game. Was at a Steelers bar in Chicago watching this game and that place was like being at Heinz Field. Plus you could smoke in bars back then. Think I went through a whole pack of Reds in 4 hours.
This is nice to watch, especially after having watched the Steelers take out the Patriots last Sunday. :)
Who won the SB that year after beating Pitt in the playoffs when it mattered? On yeah, the Patriots.
@@thomashayes8901 "On yeah"
Loved this game. That 2nd TD by Buress was beautiful. That route was just perfect. Totally fooled his defender and didn't turn to the ball until he had to.
Today is his last home game....Thank you for everything Ben
4:19 was the last time the patriots got a call against them
That O-line was incredible 👏🏼
One thing about Ben...the guy checks down!...he simply scans every option there is regardless of the pressure. It's relentless. I'm not a Steeler fan but I respect his talent.
The guy just never gives up on a play.
Big Ben is the greatest QB of all time! It always amazes me that Pittsburgh got so lucky to get him as a Steeler! Everything from the championships to the signature moments it really is amazing!
Burress, Hines, and Randle El was a sick receiver trio.
A very memorable game played on my 31st birthday, the best present I got was watching the Steelers own the Patriots that day.
Big Ben is definitely elite

So happy we got Big Ben when we did!

Back when we had one of the best coaches of all time
Its amazing how the Steelers dominated this POS team when they didnt know our signals and what we were calling. If our first game against them is the AFC championship we would of destroyed them.
What are you idiots talking about? Sore losers as usual.
Thomas Hayes They legitimately copied are Hans signals lmao, they looked at the hand signals and are audibles it’s clear. Whenever Ben would adubidle, they’d audible. Shit the flux up you bandwagon peace of shit

Thanks for showing the Bettis TD. Love Le'Veon's 'dancin,' but maaaaan watching big man get ta bangin defenses, makes me fall in love w the sport all over again.
Steelers fan and I genuinely loved having Ben Roethlisberger when I start rooting for them. I was like 9-10 years old and my mom had started dating a guy that was a steelers fan. It was actually the year they went to the superbowl and one so like 2005. It's crazy to think Ben never really got better then his rookie season. He is a first ballad HOF without question but it always seemed like he wasn't even the best player on any steelers team which sucked cuz I really liked him. I hated not seeing him win a single SB MVP but I'm sure he's just happy with those 2 Lombardi trophies. Idk why I'm dragging on I guess I'm just reminiscing but man his rookie season was the epitome of legendary. Just wish he could have topped it one year.
I love Big Ben
Tristan MacLeod that’s your mom job
Tristan MacLeod What the hell. We are here for a football video. This generation is straight fucking quacked.
Lol. Ur name is Tristan
Big Ben is the greatest
Ben is still the man. #steelernation
Pats stole hand signals from the Steelers sidelines in the playoffs later that season like Joey porter said, he said they both had the same team (no injuries), both teams ran the same game plans, and every time they called a play from the sidelines or audibled, the Pats would audible and knew almost 90% of the plays the Steelers were about to run. That’s why Ben couldn’t complete anything and turned the ball over. They knew where it was going every play. Had they not stole the signals the Steelers would have beat the Pats the same way they did in this game, and Ben would have won 16 straight games as a rookie and would have been the first rookie quarterback to start in the Super Bowl in the same year he got his liquor license. Just imagine that. A 21 year old rookie would have won 16 straight games, undefeated as a starter, and went on to start in the Super Bowl. Went on to win the Super Bowl the very next season.
The 2004 Steelers rejuvenated football in Pittsburgh once again. The Steelers were coming off a disappointing 2003 season where they finished 6-10, and no one knew what to expect from the team in 2004. There was questions at the QB position with Maddox, questions on the defense having a bounce back season, the offensive line, changes in coordinators, etc...
Not a lot of people realize, Roethlisberger was to be the third QB on the depth chart that season. The three quarterbacks were Maddox, Batch, and Roethlisberger. Batch tore his ACL in camp and when Maddox got hurt in Baltimore, that opened the door for Roethlisberger and well the rest is history. When the Steelers were 5-1 heading into this game, none of us knew what to expect, because up until this, the Steelers hadn't really been tested. When they beat New England and then crushed The Eagles the following week, we knew this team was for real.
First words spoken between Bill and Brady in the locker room, "Hey Bill, remember how we cheated and knew all their plays in the '01 Title game? Maybe we should do that again..." "Yup."
“Start Of A Rivalry”
Phil Simms Predicted it.
Rivalry? LOL remind me when the Steelers beat the Pats in a game that actually mattered. 3 regular season wins over 20 seasons does NOT make a rivalry!
Thank you Ben! No idea how we’ll ever replace you, but it was a damn good run we had!
Pats taped the D signals in this game, and used it in the AFC Championship. Also, this is how a HOF runs the ball near the goal line. 8:51 and open field 10:08

Great video. Just got me pumped to watch us play the Bills tonight.(Sunday night at home, 12-15-19, Steelers 8-5. Bills 9-4. with big wild card implications.) Here we go Steelers
Great qb! (And great videos, too!)
I was in high school during this era of football and remember every single name mentioned in this video. Man, the Steelers had a squad back then, and Ben was kinda of cool. His off the field baggage since then is really gross.
We ALL have a past.
Love this series so much
another banger love this series
Man...I don’t want to wait another 20-30 years for another Big Ben.
Ben was actually 14-0 in his rookie season he came in week two when Maddox got hurt and won that game but didn't start
13-0 in starts i meant
Highlight Heaven 14 there's 16 weeks in a season unless he didn't play in week 17 you might be right
He was 13-0 in the reg. season and then won his first playoff game. He sat the last game of the reg. season so in all he started off 14-0.
Chris Spearline Steelers lost that week 2 game. Their only loss, until the AFCC game.
He went 13-0 his rookie season, he didn't start week 1,2 or 17
Thxs for this vid i always injoy beating the patriots i miss that offensive line we had...
Back when football was football... i miss the good ole' days and im super jealous i was too young to appreciate this era of football when i was living in it.
the nostalgia of this game 😩😩
In back to back weeks Big Ben as a rookie beat BOTH Superbowl teams that year. Eagles and Patriots.
The only thing that kept the team back was Bill Cowher. He decided to bench Duece Staley for some god forsaken reason, and Jerome couldn't muster 3 yards/carry. It forced Ben to throw on 3rd an like 12 each drive.
If Cowher kept his regular season strategy, Ben would've had 3 rings by now.
So who was in the SB. You can keep your regular season wins
Jerome bettis is the most overated runningback of all time in my opinion.
ONE OF THE BEST QUARTERBACKS TO EVER PLAY!!! JUST LIKE BREES, BRADY, THE MANNING BROS, PHILIP RIVERS, JOE MONTANA, DAN MARINO, WARREN MOON,...AND ALL THE OTHER GREATS..............IT WILL B SAD TO C HIM GO...... ITS ALWAYS SAD TO C A LONG TIME GREAT GO/RETIRE....

This game ended the Patriot's 18 game win streak. Jim Nantz incorrectly states it was a 21 game win streak.
Man oh man do I miss these guys. But the biggest unsung hero? Dan Kreider. Loved him and his physical style. Excellent run blocker too.
I watched this game like well here we go again...
Then after the game I'm partying like the zebra from madigascar
Man oh man... These were the "Golden Days" to be a Steeler Fan. That whole run from 2005 - 2009 was just Epic. Even Brady and the Pats had to bow down to our awesome might. We drank those Brady tears from a golden challace and savored every damn drop all the way to the Lombardi !!! (P.S. and the Penguins started kicking ass around the end of that timeframe too, so yeah) Good times... Gosh, we had Big Ben, Hines Ward, the Bus, Troy "MF" Polamalu, Joey Porter, James Harrison, Heath Miller, Keisel, Kreider, Fanaca... what a dream team. Defense just as formiddable as the Offence. Just a revolving door of amazing WR talent for the next 10 years from Ward, Plax, Holmes, Randle El, Wallace, all the way up to when AB showed up... damn. Now I understand why all the old heads talk about the 1970s Stillers with such reverence.
Also...question.... why is the quality of this video straight up ass? Looks like it was filmed for a 1982 TV through my cats asshole. I mean, this was only 15-16 damn years ago! It's not like this was shot in the 1970s with Franco Harris and shit.. 1080p came out in 1998. This game was filmed in 2005 !!
More importantly, I know for a FACT this game was broadcast in HD because I WATCHED IT LIVE IN HD on my boys new plasma down in his dad's basement! Remember back when those shits cost like $2000+?? I do... Now you can get a 65" for like $400 at Walmart.
LOL Err'body "gatta have dat 4K Crystal" now. Or shit, 8k even... not like the human eye can even discern the difference between 4K and 8K. Most people can't tell the difference between 1080p and 4K!!! LOL, what's gonna be next? Probably VR headsets in full 360 degrees UHD. That would be a sick way to watch football, could have 20 people in the room wearing headsets and no two people are watching the same exact same thing. It would feel like you're actually on the field. Except my kid would be looking straigt up trying to see the Goodyear blimp. MAKE IT SO!
@@rch5991 I'm just sayin 720p was possible. This is like 1983 barely VGA quality.
Quality content as always!
