Thanks for watching! It’s been a blast watching through these old games & seeing so many classic moments! Pretty soon my 2021 Renegade video will be dropping! 🖤💛
Sadly Troy wouldn't be able to be himself in nfl since the last rule change in 2016 or 17. That ended gladiator trait from the game .it turned Aaron rogers average 12 int into an over night 5 int . Easier season. Lol
Ben Roethisberger is so good that you're watching a game from 2004, it's 2021, and the Steelers STILL haven't had a losing season since Ben arrived. First Ballot Hall Of Fame.
@@MMMHOTCHEEZE 2005? What do you mean by that date. I hope it's not the year ben was drafted because that was in 04. He went on that year to not losing a game until the AFC championship. in then in 05 got to and won a superbowl.
Long story short,....This was the last Steelers football game that my father witnessed during his passing. My father loved two things on this planet, his family/children, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Luckily, we (all of his children) were at his bedside watching this very game, as he passed on in the third quarter. Honestly, you could not write a better (final) script, for such a great man.
Kind of bitter sweet knowing that in the end the Steelers would lose to NE in the AFC champ game. But the won the Superbowl the year after. Still though. We knew we had something special with Ben, right from the start. And again, love these clips. Thx for these.
There is a parallel universe where the Patriots don't cheat, the Steelers win that Super Bowl in Ben's rookie year and they just keep winning Super Bowls. If they didn't cheat and win their first Super Bowls they may not have won any. None of the talent that flowed there would have gone there in the absence of the first couple Super Bowls, when they KNEW THE OTHER TEAMS DEFENSIVE PLAYCALLS.
*Man, this takes me back the 1st season of young Ben's beloved career! I so remember this game it was like watching 2 heavyweights go at it and also feelings of anxiety immediately come back watching this game! Unfortunately we ran into the CHEATING PATRIOTS in the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP and I KNOW if were not for them knowing our plays I'm positive we would have won the Super Bowl that year because the ONLY WAY we were losing that season is if someone CHEATED PERIOD!!!*
steelers from 04 to 2012 were the highlights of being a steelers fan. such a hardened defense that played physical and was a bully to other teams man, big ben running the offense with ward, randle el, and miller with some great running backs to help. truely an amazing time. still a fan but i miss this team.
And it was the next week that the Spy gate game with the Patriots was played. The irony was that at the end of that game, Troy Polomalu said, "Its almost like they knew what we were going to do before we did". And he was right. It was a shame that was found to be an even bigger shame. The Steelers were better than the Patriots that year.
A real nail-biter in Steeler history and the future Hall of Fame list on that field that day, amazing! You got a knack for beautiful videos, thank you and please continue :)
I knew after this game that we were done the next week. We ran too hard to go 15-1, peaked early and was sputtering here at the end. Luckily they made up for it the next season
I distinctly remember this game. At cousin Mark's house had a nice party! Got all buzzed up! Cheered for the Steelers! 1 Jets fan that was there the only one got hit in the eye with a Terrible Towel when the Jets missed their first field goal! She was okay later! Great great time!
Troy P was such a defense and TEAM igniter! He didn't have the greatest natural talent but his football instincts, IQ and intangibles were OFF THE CHARTS.
At the beginning of these highlights I'm still thinking what I was thinking watching that game. How can the look so dominant in the beginning and then have this end up going to overtime? The Steelers never made it easy on you as a fan.
Just curious, how many women besides me still watch & study videos of Our Steelers ? I'm a lifer born in Pittsburgh @ 60 years old ❤😇I love my black & gold 😇
I have been Steelers fan since the start of the 70s. I am a lifer born in Pittsburgh too! I have a few years over you tho. Been to 4 Steeler parades after superbowl wins!
11:10, when Heinz Ward caught that shovel pass, well think of the 5 gallon bucket of grapefruits you have to haave to catch that pass, turning around not knowing what malicious fate awaits youI , . Especially down that middle crease. Itz Yinzburgh, love it or hide back under the porch like good New York Jetz fan...not sorry. Steelers fanz have a fantastic day...everyone else too...
Yo I remember watching that playoff game n I still can't believe the jets kicker missed those 2 kicks at the end of the 4th quarter 😳 I thought 4 sure the steelers were gonna lose omgosh
@@DragRacer221x Like I said, Benjamin roethlisberger IS NOT TOP 5 ALL TIME let alone top 5 in his era of Steelers players.. Cut it out.. Gotta argue top 5 in his era.. Bettis, ward, faneca,Antonio brown, deebo, troy, all over Ben in that era.. That's off the top
@@MIA58923 and you dont even think ben is top ten? Yeah those guys have players are great but ben is the reason ab was good because he feed him the ball snd then hines was a great player partly because he was getting the ball thrown by a great quarterback. If you ask a random person to say the name of a steelers player their not gonna say alan faneca. Big ben has practically been the face of the steelers for a long time
Man ben was so young I wish them days weren't so long ago. I forgot how nimble the bus was even in his later years. Just to think how many hall of fame players are on that team.
Something tells me we may resemble the 05-‘6 team with that run game and a balance pass game, not to mention a smash mouth defense. Although Ben will never move like that again. Hopefully he won’t have to. Here we go Yinzers!
I remember thinking that 2004 was the Steelers year. They were the #1 seed and Bettis would get to retire after winning the Super Bowl. In hindsight, the fact that they went to overtime against the Jets and needed 2 missed field goals to get there should have been a major red flag.
Remember this game. Def was running on fumes at this point and it all crumbled to a halt against NE the following work. I hope one day (soon) we can see Pitt beat NE in the playoffs and beat Brady in the Super Bowl. Wishful thinking.
Oof, that’s a tough question. Nothing harder in the NFL than finding a franchise QB. There’s hardly a can’t miss guy, even then it’s tough. With enough luck, they’ll be able to pull together Mason or that low risk/high reward signing of Haskins. It’s going to be tough
Even though this was an exciting win, it was clear here the nerves got to Ben in his first playoff game. They would get to him next week against New England as well. I remember him saying in an interview the next season that he was exhausted during preparation for NE and it didn't help his performance.

Golden age of football. Physical play, grainy footage (but not too grainy), old school broadcast. Just perfect.
These years were the last of a era
@@yeathatsright1034 hell yeah what a time to be alive
Well said, it was quite the time to be a fan. In my case, it’s the era I became obsessed with football.
Dick Enberg and Dan Dierdorf. I think they both passed on. RIP

Watching this I can’t help but notice what a beast Faneca was.
A 'guard' in the HOF is quite a rare thing. Again that just goes for how great Faneca was.
He coaching in Virginia Beach. You should go and see his team play. I think it is Cox Hight School

Ben will bring it home for us 1 last time.
@Musical Box Seems to me like Burrow is 0-1 in big games. Right now hes as good as Jimmy Garoppolo.

I really… I just really hope he proves everyone wrong this season and maybe take us to an afc championship game to finish his career 😔
Damn spygate bastards. The stomp down the steelers gave em in the beginning of that season they knew they had to do something.

Ben in particular lost his magic because he was awful in both playoff games.
I sprained my ankle when Reed kicked that last fg. There were 4 of us that jumped all over each other and I ended up on the bottom.
Hahaha I used to have a habit of accidentally tearing clothes during my own celebrations!
Troy and Big Ben will be in the NFL hall of fame.
