@@justmax3095 The only driver to take a way inferior car to the fight for the championship is Heinz Harald Frentzen with Jordan in 1999, The Ferraris from 2010 to 2013 weren't mediocre cars, the 2nd best in 2010, the 3rd in 2011, the 2nd in 2012 and before the tyre change in the 2013 Belgium GP, Red Bull had a worse car than Ferrari and Lotus.

Alonso is a beast. This car was probably 8th car on the grid. He was on low fuel tank but cmon, he has dragged every bit from that car. Piquet barely got into Q2. Renault R29 was a total shitbox.
It takes some insane talent and confidence to change the brake bias between corners on short straights by taking one hand off the steering wheel whilst going 100mph+
Henry J his McLaren in 2007 was the best car, but that’s about it, his seasons at Renault were awesome, what he did whit the Ferrari, legendary, I rate him very highly, he and Senna are my best two drivers

Hamiltons only uncompetitive years were only in 2009 and 2013, he’s only had two years in his career where you could definitely say that the car was poor, Alonso has had many uncompetitive years, his early seasons in F1, 2008-2009, and his McLaren years
Lewis literally won this race - Hungary 09 - in a shitty car which shouldn't have ever won during that season, it was 3s off the pace at the beginning of the year yet he won twice that year. He's won in every single season he's participated in.
In fact those snaps would cost time to any driver but Alonso, cuz those snaps are the reason why he is so fast. He launches the car to the corner, gains half a tenth, but then any other driver would lose severam tenths as they get too far into the corner, but alonso somehow manages to keep it on the fast lane. Thats what his style is all about.

Counted at least 4 small snaps at corner entry which surely costed him about 1,5-2 tenths. Not a perfect lap but still the beast put it on pole!
