Don't you fucking dare cover her conduct with the "loose cannon but a damn good cop" excuse. Way, way more often than not, the things she does to break "star fleet slow bureaucracy" are inexcusably reckless and have only been covered up by writer fiat. Remember when she attacked another member of star fleet simply because she was "too good" for Boimler and therefore _had_ to be a shapeshifter? Remember how she lied to get a crewmate who nearly destroyed the ship with a rogue AI transferred to someone else's crew, making him a ticking time-bomb of failure? Remember how she got a diplomat blackout drunk and let him steal a shuttle before a major peace negotiation? Remember how SHE got drunk and stuck a bat'leth into Boimler's leg?! Oh, that Mariner, what an absolute card! She has never, _never_ apologized or felt remorse for anything she's touched, and her unfettered recklessness that is a danger to herself and others is glossed over by her nepotist mother-captain (because apparently Star Fleet is centuries in the future and forgot what a conflict-of-interest is. wait who's Winger Bingston?
He did the one man show after Freeman's scat jazz in episode 4.
Why 30 seconds of music and clips we've seen a million times already at the end of less - than - three - minute - video (making it more than 25% of this video)? Couldn't you just include 30 seconds more of the episode you're highlighting, or simply end the video when you ran out of footage? I FF to the next video as soon as your 30 second 'ending' starts up. It's unnecessary filler and, even at just 30 seconds - every video - it's a colossal waste of time.
Oh god i just realized how effed up star trek is to AIs.
Give her more time, they said. Mariner becomes a better character in later episodes, they said.
Jesus Christ, man.
What exactly is your problem with her you fucking twerp?
@@boxtears Holy shit, you are actively watching a clip of her sabotaging her crewmates' program he was going to use to prep for an interview with his captain, just so _she could have fun on the holodeck._ Don't you dare tell me this is a one-off example, you know it's not.
The script tries to write her as some "strong independent woman who don't need to play by the rules," but because the script-writers suck at their job, all they've done is create an impulsive brat. I would've demanded her resignation or mine after day one.
@@PeterDivine Actually the script makes it very clear she's got issues, even the Orion chick points it out. You're just so desperate to make her fit into your mary sue narrative that you'll force it any way you can. You're frankly pathetic.
@@PeterDivine you lost your argument the moment you used the word "marry sue" carelessly. a marry sue is an overpowered character with no flaws. it is not a female character you dislike. she doesn`t get away with her conduct she is placed on the brick constantly. as for her personality, she is a season star fleet officer experience enough to be in the enterprise(not a mary sue) who has grown disillusion with star fleet slow bureaucracy. you can see some of these in the episode. with how the planet Starfleet literally just welcome to the federation had one race eating the other race. the rat alien got a replicator to provide them with an alternative but with the lizard alien still as underclass citizens, there`s no guarantee the rat alien will stop eating the lizard aliens. the plane being in peace was more important to star fleet. there are other things like her parents which had push her rebellious nature. she is a developed character. you don`t have to like her as people have different tastes but petty insult shows you have no taste.
@@JayJayM57 Fucking hell, where to even begin...
1. There has been exactly one person who keeps on somehow strawmanning my argument into me claiming her being a Mary Sue, and it ain't me. I defy you to go over the last three posts and see any point, anywhere, where I called her as such. Again, she's not a Mary Sue- she's just a brat and an asshole.
Huh, oh well!) But all of that, ALL of it, is made exponentially worse by her complete and utter refusal to be aware of any of it. It was literally personified in her fucking _face_ this episode, and she still couldn't see it.
She is a trash character for trash admirers. She is indefensible.
This show is good, but Final Space is a better show.
Shutup Kevin
That was so bad
