- What an absolutely wonderful show. The animation, voice acting, storytelling, character development and general absurdity are terrific. It builds a world that's a galaxy and focuses on the crew that deals with the backlash from the adventures of the bridge crew. The vibe is sarcastic and subversive, with each episode taking you on an adventure.
If you couldn't get into Rick and Morty but want that style of show, this is the one for you. You will fall in love with the characters. Find the Tendi in your life and hang out with them as much as you can.
I honestly think my favorite cold open is when all of them (including mariner) succumb to their inner nerds and try to make warp core noises at each other.
She likes to pretend she's 'too cool for school' But mariner is one of the nerdiest of all
I love how in the opening the Cerritos takes 1 borg blast and they're like 'fuck that' and warp the fuck outta there
and every season they add in another 'Nope' enemy into the battle
To be fair, that's the only sensible course of action. A Cali class against one D'deridex is doomed, against that sort of firepower? Captain Freeman made the only sane choice. A California is the 24th century equivalent of the Miranda, a work horse, jack of all trades support vessel.
I am surprised they didn't immidiately combust like cardboard from that one blast lol,

The best part of that is, each season the battle escalates.
12:25 just notices that the "Do Not Obey" sticker has the Starfleet Logo on it. Starfleet has an official warning sticker for these situations.
You'd be suprised how many robots pretend to be gods and make people kill each other. At some point i guess they found ot easier to just slap a sticker on it instead of hauling it away

I love how that abomination against science, breeders, and gods just turned out to be a big sweety. An absolute travesty of mad science, but just as sweet as an actual dog.

The hilarious subversion of Star Trek openings just...fits the show perfectly.
My favorite Trek, but it wouldn’t make any sense without the rest of the franchise being exactly what it is. ❤

The DS-9 opening was the absolute best in the series: (S03E06 ~ Hear all, Trust nothing) "uhhhh, sir?" "Just keeeeep circling..." That explains SOOO much!!!
Yeah, it makes me think the entire DS9 opening is from the perspective of a ship that is waiting forever for clearance to dock.

@@chrismayer3919 Ironically the “Star Trek” show made by Seth MacFarlane took much more after TNG with a few more comedic elements.
It's not here, but my favorite cold open is the Mask possessed captain turning the ship into a jungle temple an Mariner being so done with her mom touching the spooky mask for a third time.

Mariner is proof that no one gets fired from Starfleet in her time, especially when they have parents that are a Captain and an Admiral. Though you know you are bad news when a Kardassian torturer calls you very bad.

I came in late love this show (season 2) but, it deserves more then 5 seasons needs 10-15 more.

Its really great to see how much all of the main cast as friends make each other better just by being friends. All of them had great chemistry and helped with each other’s faults. We know Mariner had an EXTENSIVE starfleet history and a lot of crazy stories before them, but it wasn’t until she found “her crew” that she really started to grow as a person.

When you actually know Star Trek and watch the full episodes of this show, yes. But luckily the show isn't only comedy, it has its fair share of serious moments as well.

So, this was the second chance I gave this... well-made Star Trek PARODY. Watched this video for 7 minutes, can´t bear any more.
This show, while certainly of quality work, annoys me to no end.
One moment they are almost as serious and well paced as the more conventional Trek shows.... and the next two to 4 moments they do childish, over-the-top and or just plain stupid stuff.
ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE who considers this "better" than the likes of Discovery or Picard needs to get their brain checked for some sort of tumor.
And now they´re even doing a crossover with Strange New Worlds? With Mr. Over-Eager and Mrs. Loud-and-Obnoxious? Prepare for the worst episode of Strange New Worlds ever when these two clowns show up.
I´d be willing to accept this as a pure comedic parody. But they don´t follow through on that premise either with all the "serious" moments that are in there. And thus, for everything that is indeed very well done in this show... does it fail in one critical aspect, for me at least:

Eh, I suppose it's not for everyone. Personally I find comedy highlights the occasional seriousness, the the serious bits make the comedy more enjoyable.
Why watch this and waste your time when you could be watching something that’s actually good homage like the Oreville.
