I cannot thank you enough for recording this and calling this into the authorities and I'll tell you why I feel this way. In 2014 or daughter and 4 yr old grandson was on their way to our home here in Georgia. She had to work all weekend long so she was bringing our sweet boy to us and left in enough time to be at our home before work. I waited and waited and waited on her to arrive and she never did because she was hit head on by a drunk driver at 3:00 in the afternoon on a Friday. Our daughter was severely injured in the crash and stayed 2 months in the hospital/rehab facility however our grandson was killed instantly and we grief his passing every second of every day that goes by. The drunk received the maximum allowed for Georgia which was 15 yrs for bodily injury to our daughter and 15 yrs for vehicular homicide for our grandson plus 3 more yrs for various counts. I use to have a drink every now and again before all this happened to us but I despise alcohol on any level now but I despise drunk drivers even more. Had it been left up to me he would of never seen the light of day again in is lifetime. Again thanks so very much....you possibly saved a life that day my friend. Take care!!
First Last Dude, you really ought to listen to the video. He says the car he's driving in to 911. Not to mention the big was picture staring you in the face when you were typing your comment in.
informer21 jones, exactly the reaction I had. But his turning that cam to capture that scene is a proof that he's not just a random camera user; he's a professional.
This is how police and the community they protect should interact. Polite, helpful and with respect. Society has forgotten that we're all playing on the same team...i.e. to coexist in a way that doesn't endanger someone else.
Good job brother, you did a good thing. I've had to go to way too many wrecks where a drunk driver has killed an innocent person, or in one case a whole family, and the drunk gets to walk away from it. Keep up the good work man.
@AMPT Music You don't want one that the police use, they cost a few thousand dollars and take up a lot of space last time I checked. I sometimes use a GoPro as a dashcam, but I have problems with them overheating and not saving certain clips, just overall not good as a dashcam. I currently use a G1W-H which has 1080p definition and wide angle lens, the standard G1W is the same, just a different look and less of a wide angle. They also have loop recording, so you can just push the save button and it will only save that clip and other clips that weren't saved get recorded over. The G1W-H is $60 and the G1W is $50 I believe. The particular dashcam I used in this video was a cheap backup dashcam I got at O'reilly Auto Parts for about $70. It was actually perfect for a scenario such as this because it doesn't have loop recording, so everything saves without having to press save every few minutes, and also because it isn't wide angle, so you can see the drunk driver really well, where if I had one of the G1W cameras, he would have looked quite far away. However, I would still recommend one of the G1W cameras, mostly because of the high definition, the quality for how cheap it is, and loop recording. Best of luck to you sir or madam!
BrilliantList Thanks man! You probably just saved me an expensive trip to Amazon or something! Haha! I'm a new driver so it would probably definitely help if I have video footage of what happens if something bad is to ever occur. Again, thanks for the input. I shall see what's available! :)
Officer here, don't get the kind we use. They are very expensive and you have to use DVDs (4,6, and 8 hour) for the system. Go to Staples and get a cheap one for about $50 ish. No DVDs or VHS required. It holds several hours of tape, if you don't decide to save it or burn it to your computer it was erase it from the system.
go with a dash cam. i bought one off amazon for 200 dollars. it records on a micro sd card it came with 16gb, but i also bought another micro sd card to hold more. it was a very easy amd simple install takes you less than 15 minutes. i have one front facing camera and another camera that records the back. i purchased it because i am getting so tired of reckless drivers!! people are always on their phones not paying attention to the road or other drivers.
AMPT Music My advice to you: buy a cheap one until you can afford a better one. I bought one when I visited the US for like $55 and there are even cheaper than that. Helps a lot if you in an accident and the culpable one lies about what he/she did. I regret not having one earlier. I used to use my mobile with the dashcam app but it will overheat your phone and probably lose some clips, as used to happen to me.
410 drunks and counting liquor stores making money i used have a neighbor who would ask me to take him to the liquor store and then after he got his booos!! he wants me to drink with him then when i said i don't drink then he got mad at me said i was no good S O B. come on man it'll make you feel good. i will never understand people who drink to get drunk
Oh my god he yielded to the bicyclist at the crosswalk! Sober drivers from my part don't even bother to yield to bicyclists or pedestrians at crosswalks!
I was waiting for him to pull into a bar right when the cops got there. He pulled into an ABC store... even better, lol. For those of you not from NC. The ABC store is the state run liquor store.
You got a good response. My wife and I reported an impaired driver on interstate 10 and then later on interstate 75 two years ago and nothing was done. He finally exited and we just keep going. We didn’t even get a call back to see if we were still observing him. Sad, I hope he made it to were ever he was going safely!
Cops handled this amazing. I have seen plenty of videos where a bystander filmed an incident and the cops immediately started saying they were going to seize the camera and threatening the driver. This cop was just like "Fantastic! Any way you can burn that and email it to me?" Fucking A!
Good job, bro! You have no idea just how many lives you saved with this single act of heroism. You're dash cam is super crispy. Keep it up; you never know what you might capture again.
slapurmommaz You don’t know why they Disliked the Video, it could be they Disliked the Drunk Driver!! Everyone does Different things for different reasons just because you put a like because you like what he did doesn’t mean someone wouldn’t put a dislike for the Guy driving Drunk! Many don’t put anything at all it doesn’t mean that they don’t FEEL one way or the other.....
Excellent outcome. I was pleased to see the officer's reaction when you told him you had not only called 911 but had the entire episode on dash cam as well! Something tells me that driver probably has multiple DUI's and a blood alcohol level of at least .15 for this experience.
Lol at first I thought why is this cop taking so long to pull him over, and why does he have to call in before making a stop. But seriously, Good job man, drunks are the worst.
See this is a couple years old but still nice job Cameron. I dont think many people would take the time out of their daily lives to follow someone like this and stick with it till the end. You did well my friend. I was almost thinking that an opportunity at that red light with the pedestrian would have been a great time to jump out and open the door and grab keys BUT you never know how they might react to that and it could have made it worse. Anyways thanks for what you did, good job.
We need more people like you. You potentially saved the lives of other motorists, pedestrians, and even the drunk driver. Anyone who ever sees something like this should immediately notify police.
I've had to put a call in while behind a car driving like that, and the last thing on my mind was how inconvenient or expensive that arrest was going to be for the driver. They're certainly not thinking about how much damage they're capable of while attempting to drive in an impaired state. Hats off to you, my friend!
having lost friends to drunk driving, I say Thanks. You were perfect, safe giving directions, and detailing the driver's misdeeds. You could have saved a life that day
ROUSH4203 I'm the guy youre swearing at, pledging to find and flipping off. I passed you with inches to spare at 5,500 rpm as I popped gears and sped off. My phone? on the lowest portion of my console, ignored. My iced coffee? capped closed in the cupholder just above the phone. voom voom
I was driving on the freeway here in Los Angeles once and spotted a drunk driver. I called 911 and reported the guy. The dispatcher asked me what did she want them to do about it? I kid you not, they weren't interested. Yet the CHP have those electronic signs saying report a drunk driver all over the place.
I almost had a drunk driver hit me head on about 2-3 years back. I was coming home from working a late night shift and had some drunky swerve right in front of me. I was lucky to miss him, but he ended up into a steep ditch. If were had wrecked, he probably would've been either hurt or killed because I drive a lifted truck and he drove an early 2000's Chevy Impala. He did end up getting arrested though.
Good job, thanks for getting him off the street at least for a day, cause you know how this is going to go down, he was probably in jail for the night and he will be back drinking again soon. Sad that there are so many people out there with multiple DUI and their still driving. For every time they were caught driving drunk, there are probably 10 times that they weren't caught driving drunk.
Damn! Only took about 10 minutes for these cops to arrive. When I tried reporting a drunk driver, they never did arrive, even after 30 minutes (I gave up following him when he got on the toll highway). When I called 9-1-1 a second time (after about 20 minutes of no cops), I got bitched at by the 9-1-1 operator for calling again! By contrast, I got reported for drunk driving (I had pulled over to let a speeder get by, and he's apparently the one who called) and within 5 minutes I was surrounded by about 5 cop cars. Something ain't right here....
one less drunk drive off the road. i pray he learns his lesson and never does something this stupid again. i never call people stupit, just the things they do.........
Good job, thank you. Working Trauma Medicine I've taken care for several hundred victims of DUIs. Everyone needs to do what they can to prevent DUIs. Don't let anyone drive intoxicated.
Driving while impaired is stupid and reckless and should be prosecuted to the fullest but someone posting his ass by a bar and WAITING for someone to come out of it drunk and then acting like they just happen to pull in behind them is CHICKEN SHIT. Find something better to do with your time
@Trevor Standefer If you get a dashcam, I would not recommend the one I used in this video. It does not offer loop recording and does not record in high definition. The only good thing going for it is it does not have a wide angle lens, so you could see the drunk driver car really well, whereas on a camera with a wide angle lens, he would have looked quite far away. However, the wide angle lens is ideal for scenarios such as front side impact collisions and pedestrian related collisions. With the wide angle lens, you can see off to the side of the car aswell which could be key if someone ran a stop sign and hit you for example. I recently had a lady sideswipe me merging onto the motorway and she drove off, if I didn't have the wide angle lens, the collision wouldn't have been visible and she might have not been charged. I currently use a G1W-H, has loop recording, 1080p definition, and wide angle. It is $60 from Amazon, or you can also get a standard G1W (different look, less of a wide angle) for $50. If you are wanting one like in this video however, it is $70 at Oreilly Auto Parts. Hope this has been helpful!
Good job. Thank you for taking the time, and effort to report him. If only more people would get involved like you did. You may have saved a life that day. In military fashion, as a Retired navy veteran. BRAVO ZULU to you.
+silly sicily I didn't edit it because I wanted to have the full version available for local law enforcement. Also, that was an unfortunate place to stop watching as it is literally just a few seconds before he swerves into oncoming traffic and I dial emergency services.
I was hit by a drunk driver in '81. That changed the course of my life completely. Thank you for caring enough to not only have a dash cam but to also call 911 & wait to write out a statement. We'll never know for sure if you saved a life that day. But we DO know that drunk driver DIDN'T kill someone because you cared. Thank you!
whatsupsuperman0 The one used in this video was something like Raptor or Viper brand, found at O'reilly Auto Parts. I do not recommend this one however! I currently use a G1W-H by Black Box, you can find it on Amazon for about $55. Hope this helps.
just get it from a trusted source on Amazon. There's a few sites that give the vendors names if you Google for it. Zero problems with mine after 2 years

Only just discovered this, and wanted to say thank you for sharing this.
Be safe man, and good on you for sharing this clip.
Was he really intending to go to the ABC store? wow. alcoholism is a terrible disease.
Thank you for being considerate enough to take the time out of your day to protect your fellow people and save lives! High five!
Good job. I can’t believe how calm you stayed even seeing him all over the road. Thanks for helping us stay safe.
Thank you for your civic duty in getting another dangerous driver off the road before anyone was hurt.
nice going. maybe saved a family from a head-on. I have followed 2 cars in 5 yrs like you but I need a dash cam. good work!
Cops handled this amazing. I have seen plenty of videos where a bystander filmed an incident and the cops immediately started saying they were going to seize the camera and threatening the driver. This cop was just like "Fantastic! Any way you can burn that and email it to me?" Fucking A!
There are still really good people in the world. It gives me faith in humanity at a time that it would be easy to lose faith.
Good job my man. Help keep us all safe.
I wish people like you were around more, i feel bad for cops that have to deal with jackasses.
Good job, bro! You have no idea just how many lives you saved with this single act of heroism. You're dash cam is super crispy. Keep it up; you never know what you might capture again.
I wish that they had cell phones back in the day. My grandfather was killed by a drunk driver.
Sad to see 147 dislikes. Unreal.
I know, right?!!?!
Now, it's 392, smdh.
slapurmommaz You don’t know why they Disliked the Video, it could be they Disliked the Drunk Driver!!
Everyone does
Different things for different reasons just because you put a like because you like what he did doesn’t mean someone wouldn’t put a dislike for the Guy driving Drunk! Many don’t put anything at all it doesn’t mean that they don’t FEEL one way or the other.....
Good job! He had no business behind the wheel of a car.
Glad he was calm and not overly hysterical while giving directions to the dispatch
Nice job. You may have saved lives.
You probably saved someones life. im very proud of you for doing the right thing. Great job!
dampsalt lol I was just about to say the Same Damn thing goddamit
Thank you so much for stopping them. Not for my sake, because I live NOWHERE near where you were, but for everybody else's sakes
I hate drunk drivers. I love that he did this.
You’re a true hero for following and reporting this drunk creep. You probably saved lives, including the drunk driver’s life. God bless you.
if that's really his house he would have made it home in time if he did not fall asleep at that stop light lol
We need more people like you. You potentially saved the lives of other motorists, pedestrians, and even the drunk driver. Anyone who ever sees something like this should immediately notify police.
Well done. Far too many people are killed and injured by drivers who are drunk.
Good job following him! You totally saved someone's life!!
Dash cams are good. And you did a good job too.
I've had to put a call in while behind a car driving like that, and the last thing on my mind was how inconvenient or expensive that arrest was going to be for the driver. They're certainly not thinking about how much damage they're capable of while attempting to drive in an impaired state. Hats off to you, my friend!
goob job my man!
having lost friends to drunk driving, I say Thanks. You were perfect, safe giving directions, and detailing the driver's misdeeds. You could have saved a life that day
That guy isn't drunk I drive that way every day. With my knee cause one hand is on my phone and the other is holding my fifth
ROUSH4203
I'm the guy youre swearing at, pledging to find and flipping off.
I passed you with inches to spare at 5,500 rpm as I popped gears and sped off.
My phone? on the lowest portion of my console, ignored.
My iced coffee? capped closed in the cupholder just above the phone.
voom voom
Oh, you're a comedian! Hope you get your own HBO special some day. smh.
Audrey
HBO? Netflix.
aim high
EXATLY! The guy wasn't drunk.......yet. Takes at least 30 minutes to start feeling any effects. And another hour for drunk to happen.
You Funny !!!!!!
Great job staying calm and providing exceptional information onto the dispatcher.
Let us not forget; DUI doesn't mean drunk. Prescription pills can fuck you up more than alcohol by far.
Also weed... still under the influence of some type of drug and alcohol is a drug
Yeah and many want weed legalized? gmfb
Candy Smith weed is a lot different than prescription drugs.
Great Job,you probably saved a life or two.We need more people like you.
Bravo!
Fred Smith same state that made it a misdemeanor to give someone hiv aids knowingly, sanctuary state for illegal aliens
Great job man, I commend your actions. Great video!
He did end up getting arrested though.
but too the driver that called it in ...thank you for your observation. he could have easily taking your loved one or ones from you.
I have tears. Thank you. Thank you for all you did. You made a difference. God bless you.
You see something say something. Awesome when people care about safety of others.
It's nice to see an ending like this. Nobody was hurt and the police were actually able to pull them over and arrest the driver.
Wow..., I can't believe he/she didn't kill someone. Must have been really WASTED....
This was years ago but I want to thank you for keeping the public safe!
one less drunk drive off the road. i pray he learns his lesson and never does something this stupid again. i never call people stupit, just the things they do.........
Awesome Samaritan!!! GREAT JOB!!...
Great job man.
Good job, thank you.
Working Trauma Medicine I've taken care for several hundred victims of DUIs.
Everyone needs to do what they can to prevent DUIs.
Don't let anyone drive intoxicated.
Great video, thanks for making the call and following him. I would do the same exact thing!
Driving while impaired is stupid and reckless and should be prosecuted to the fullest but someone posting his ass by a bar and WAITING for someone to come out of it drunk and then acting like they just happen to pull in behind them is CHICKEN SHIT. Find something better to do with your time
Good job, thank you for caring.
Good job, brilliant list. Makes me want to get a dash cam!
Good job Rodeo Man!
Outstanding! Thanks for doing the right thing!
Great job, I lost a good friend to a drunk driver, I need to get one of those dash cams as I have ZERO tolerance for drunks !
if you do get a good one like what he has
@Trevor Standefer If you get a dashcam, I would not recommend the one I used in this video.
Great job! I've had a dashcam for about a year now, too. You never know when it might come in handy. Thank you for posting.
good job man. I would do the same to my dad if I caught him driving drunk
Good job. Thank you for taking the time, and effort to report him. If only more people would get involved like you did. You may have saved a life that day. In military fashion, as a Retired navy veteran. BRAVO ZULU to you.
You did the right thing man, God bless you
That's badass. Good work man.
When the officer said "burn" that I thought he meant ldestroy the evidence for a second 😶
@Melissa Trillo That just made me laugh so hard!
Thank you!
what dash cam do u use?
whatsupsuperman0 The one used in this video was something like Raptor or Viper brand, found at O'reilly Auto Parts. I do not recommend this one however! I currently use a G1W-H by Black Box, you can find it on Amazon for about $55. Hope this helps.
was thinking about that one but heard that some people received a knock off brand
just get it from a trusted source on Amazon. There's a few sites that give the vendors names if you Google for it. Zero problems with mine after 2 years
whatsupsuperman0 I had that happen once on Amazon. If you get one, make sure Black Box is the seller, it will be genuine.
Danny Danko LMAO love you too bro
Thank you for calling the police & following this guy!
good job man
Thank You for filming and reporting him!!!
