  • The Porsche 911 GTS sits almost smack bang in the middle of the range. It's half way between a Carrera and a Turbo and is even blessed with some of the performance specs of the 911 GT3. People have long spoken about the GTS being the real middle sweet spot of the 911 range. But is that true? in this case it's rear-wheel-drive and manual, surely the ideal Porsche sportscar for every world? Sean Ward found out.

    Nice review thanks. I agree with your review. I have a 992 Carerra S and i've driven the Turbo S and the others, but nothing feels like this for me. I absolutely have to get myself a rear wheel drive manual GTS. Love it.

    They all have independent suspension... the difference between the GT3 and all the others is the fact that the GT3 now has double wishbones in the front, while every other road going 911 has McPherson struts at the front.

    This was an excellent review! Imho, the one most influential to someone actually considering a 992 that I’ve come across.

    Somehow the 4 GTS manages to feel rear biased enough, so I can't imagine how fun the 2 feels.

    Me and my 2 sons were driving home form their mom's and saw a carrerra 4s and started debating if it was the perfect modern Porsche layout for everyday use and performance.

    The engine. Flat 6. TT is the same in GTS as in Base 911 correct? Just that GTS has more turbo boost? Turbos are the same size?

      He meant upper and lower forged aluminum A-arms, ala Mazda MX-5/Miata, as opposed to struts. Bravo GT3, you've caught up with the Miata.

    Cant wait to get mind in May. I sold my 992 GT3 because It was hard to live with when you have 2 toddlers that want to come with and also just a bit harsh on the roads where I live. but man... I miss that engine. hoping this GTS makes me feel special too.

    A 0.8 sec difference to 62 mph between PDK and manual sounds like a lot. I imagine you only need one gear change to reach 62 mph with the stick. So is it just the shifting time or does the manual have a longer overall gearing?

  • @luigirigattoni9648
    @luigirigattoni9648 Год назад

    Porsche built the best PDK on the market, so i understand that you like the manual gearbox for the only reason, that you only have this car for testride. To own a GTS, the PDK is much nicer to drive for long distance, fast mountain rides and city drives.

    Why would you give a s* it about having zeros on the pump when your drive 165 thousand dollar car? Makes no sense. Philip to the Chop within reason and get on down the road
