So, I am 50, and 5 years ago my husband caught me with one of those Tinkle razors trying to "dermaplane" my skin. He looked confused and asked what I was doing with that dinky thing. I explained I was removing peach fuzz and exfoliating my skin. He said he would show me how to do that the right way. He bought me my own man's very nice safety razor and replacemet blades, and we stood at the mirror together and he taught me how to properly shave my face and neck. I have been doing so ever since, and now I don't even wear foundation, just a bit of conealer when needed, and Hourglass powder and blush. People compliment me all the time, and I know it is because of plain old shaving and skincare. My hubby knew the secret all along! (edit: I shave about once a week...so relaxing!)
That is actually incredibly sweet, also there are male barbers that have started specializing in women’s shaves with straight razors and a few of them have posted videos doing it with a straight razor and it’s so effective you can literally see the skin change color from a dull grey to a luminous beige as he is making the passes on the women’s faces. Your husband totally makes sense. That was absolutely adorable of your husband, my husband can’t use a razor (ginger boy problems) so uses electric, now I’m bummed I can’t ask him. I vote for your hubby doing a how to video, just sayin.
Yep, dermaplaning razors have guards on them which can be helpful but they also keep the blade at a slight distance and can catch on hairs or the skin. Using a bare blade is actually a lot safer and more effective if you use it properly. That’s why you’re seeing more benefits from properly using a men’s safety razor. It’s a bare blade, just like professional esthetics dermaplaning blades (which are literally just a specific scalpel blade) and unlike the “dermaplaning” razors you can buy at the drug store or Sephora or Ulta.
@@carladuglin4036if you are okay going high end, the best safety razor hands down at any price point is the Henson AL13 razor ($69.99 USD) . If you want something a bit more affordable that is only a hair less incredible than Henson, I suggest the Leaf Shave single edge razors ($59.99 USD) (either the twig or the thorn depending on if you only get vellus hair or if you get some coarser hairs as well) but they’re only about $10 cheaper. The real affordability pick (and a long-time cult favorite) is the Albatross Butterfly XL safety razor. At $39.99 USD, it’s $20 cheaper than the Leaf razors and $30 cheaper than Henson making it easily accessible. However, while I think it’s definitely worth the money and is an incredible razor, it’s simply nowhere near the league of the leaf shave razors or Henson. If you buy the albatross razor, you’ll be happy with it but will likely end up wanting to upgrade to Leaf or even Henson at some point, so my personal advice is just to splurge off the bat and go for the Leaf or Henson razors. They’ll last you the rest of your life and you’ll be very VERY satisfied with either of the two brands.
Sometimes, after watching videos, I read the comments and learn a lot more. Periodically, I come across a lovely collection of positive comments and think to myself, "This is how the world should be more often!" lol.
I had terrible acne my whole life. Was on every treatment. Im convinced now at 50 that all that oil has kept me wrinkle free. I just started tret, use lots of Ordinary and k beauty treatments and i finally have the skin I always wanted! Oily folks age well. Just wish these products and the internet were around when i was going through severe acne.
My Dr told me this when I had really bad acne and oily skin that at least I wouldn't get wrinkles. He was right lol.Im 43 and barely have any lines on my face, but it really was a nightmare having the acne, esp at school.I love the Ordinary products too,I use the daily set which seems to keep my skin in good condition. I guess we cancan thank oily skin for something at least now x
@tracylouise222 I am fifty and have no wrinkles. I see my face changing which socks, but no wrinkles. Not one. Now I use tretenoin hoping to remain wrinkle free and so many other products mostly due to these RUclips people but it's great self care.
aging mostly not about wrinkles. Actually wrinkles are not huge problem. Main issue is drooping and sagging of skin, dissolving of fat tissue (that’s make skin plump) & bone resorption. When people say they don’t have wrinkles anyway it doesn’t make your look young. Aging is complex process. Wrinkles contribution to aging is 10% max
Once, I made a terrible mistake by combining all of these steps. I steamed my face, then scrubbed it with an expensive microfoliant, followed by shaving. After that, I applied a clay mask, rinsed it off, and used a sheet mask. To top it off, I used tretinoin as a beginner and finished with moisturizer. I was horrified by the outcome that night. Thankfully, my skin didn't react too severely, although it did cause some pimples and was very dry and painful.
The woman on the "Cancer Rehab PT" channel (she has a doctorate) teaches manual lymphatic drainage over the various areas of the body, including the face and head. Her main focus is treating lymphedema, which can make your face puffy. She has done multiple videos on the new MLD research from Australia. Trust her lessons on the MLD of the head and face.
I have PCOS, grow a beard and shave every other day... It's helped cut back on my acne. I tried one of those dermaplaning razors and hated them. I stick with a three or four blade razor and sensitive skin friendly shave gel. Works for me.
As someone who's trying to go into the public health feild, please don't think of lymph fluid as stuff stuck in between capillaries - it's there to help move white blood cells, T cells and other immune system cells through the body. While some of these cells also circulate in the bloodstream, the lymphatic system is still their main mode of transport - that's ehy lymph nodes swell sometimes when you're sick - they're swelling so there's more space for the immune cells to pass through so they can get where they're needed faster. That said, excess lymph fluid can accumulate in certain parts of the body if you don't move enough, since as the video said, it's circulated via skeletal muscle movement rather than being pumped by the heart like blood is
Omg I’ve never been this early for one of your videos!! I’ve been watching you since I was a literal preteen, I’m 28 now and I just wanna say you’ve made a massive positive impact on how I view myself and my self confidence ❤ Thank you ❤
@@CassandraBanksonlove your videos Cassandra you’ve helped me with my skincare knowledge so much I appreciate how much you care about us and that we use these techniques correctly ❤
Thank you so much for mentioning that 6 year olds get acne! I started getting acne at age 6,, in 1994 so better than decades prior, but man kids today have it better in regards to acne today! I was considered too young for Differin, I think it was semi-prescription then my mom had to ask a pharmacist, who said I was too young and I was given skin stripping products instead. I think they caused a lot of my pitted scars honestly.
Not to mention the advancement in over the counters products. My older sister struggled with acne while younger but we didn’t have access to a dermatologist. Now you can have a specialize formula. I know she struggled with self esteem and people being evil. Soon as she turned of working age for a teen in our State she worked a job just to have access to Full Health care benefits.
I started getting acne when I was about at 9 or 10, very young as well. However I treated it as an adult with detoxing my diet, mine was a mess until then. Would have cleaned up my acne and helped me with other health issues.
Awe sorry to hear that. I’m not an expert by any means and from my research, I went to a dermatologist at 23 (36 now) and she kindly explained to me there’s a lot I can’t do because I’m a level 4 on the Fitzpatrick scale, like no co2 lasers, plus there’s not much they can do until the acne infection heals for scars. I have ice and rolling scars that stem from abrupt lost of collagen from the acne invasion. With retinal and the like they’ve diminished somewhat. If I start making more money I’ll try Microneedling, in-office to afraid to do at home, also thinking of getting a prescription soon but unfortunately nothing has a 100% success rate. Fillers are a another option for some scars but again too expensive for me. If you’re son has fair to light skin there are more option! I do recommend starting retinol, azelaic acid and a genial aha treatment like Cerave’s nightly exfoliating treatment to help both cure the acne and increase cell turnover. Though if you son has darker skin like me or darker I wouldn’t recommend a high percentage of gylcolic acid. Hope that was at least somewhat helpful!
i wish these particular details are being highlighted rather than just the hype and the aesthetic side shown by the influencers. Thank you so much for making things make sense to me now. Please share more realistic insight about techniques people are always doing it wrong. After all, we learn best from mistakes. Lots of love
Dermaplaning is so good, and I’ll never go back. Be careful but it when you are careful, it makes skin so much smoother and brings a glow from within. Also makes me use less face moisturizing, which saves $$$.
When i was younger and completely new to skincare, i used a foot scrub on my face thinking it will help get rid of my acne scars that i loved to pop… luckily i have healed far from that
If you have sensitive skin, I recommend Olay retinol 24 (not the MAX one), it’s so gentle and really works. I put my Cetaphil gentle moisturizer on thin, use the Olay (put little dot all over the face and use one or two finger tips to tap the product onto the skin gently - retinol can be broken down quickly, so always be gentle, tap it on, and never wipe like you normally would, to maximize the potential of the product and keep your skin happy). Make sure to put it on the front of your neck, on your chest, and on the back of your neck, of course. Important to be smart about retinol.
I agree. It’s silly and something so demonized and disgusted with, like there isn’t already many other old and new insecurities roaming the internet, especially regarding hair. To focus on peach fuzz of them all, it’s just silly.😅 the narrative of women being called gross if not completely hairless going this far is eye rolling worthy.😒
It can help shave off dead skin cells and also help absorb skincare products more. It isn't necessarily about peach fuzz. Ain't no one seeing that peach fuzz unless with a microscopic glass.
@@Solararisa you don't have the need to shave off dead skin cells. They don't harm you, for 99% of people they literally do nothing and your product will absorb just as well. Shaving will cause irritation, more uv damage (even with sunscreen) and due to the irritation cause your skinCARE products to do the opposite and damage it.
Most people just do things to themselves without taking proper steps. If you're going to dermaplain, make sure the razor is new and then throw it out after one use. Wash your face with a cleanser afterwards, spray some hypochlorous acid, make sure you're exfoliating at least once a week. Keep those pores clean!
Personally, I can't use Retinoids or The Ordinary's AHA/BHA Salicylic acid as I have sensitive skin with Rosacea! I CAN use the 2% Salicylic Acid by CeraVe and it does work!
@@ingridc0ldand is your skin ok w oilcleansing. I am curious cause my mom has sensitive skin as well. Strangely enough vaseline is great for her but not for me
I damaged my skin with retinol and vitamin c it’s taken a year to get anywhere near back to where I was. Personally I’m not going to shave, or using these things again. The problem is that it’s sold over the counter cheaply and no one tells you it can be dangerous. How many people will be listening to this video.
I’m 28 and I’ve realized less is more for my skin. The second I start doing too much skincare, my skin breaks out and sometimes becomes open wounds. Ph balancing toner, hypochlorus acid, cerave and bandages have helped me tremendously.
First time I "dermaplaned" I cut the sh*t up out of my face. Added astringent and boy, did it really hurt. I tried once more, it was ok. No cuts but it is not for me.
Gua sha has more benefits than cons if you do it gently. Lymph movement in the whole body is super healthy and often overlooked. Id rather use my hands though. All that extra serum can go on my hands to prevent aging 😉 dont forget to drybrush a few times a weekm it will tighten your skin, exfoliate, make cellulite break up, and help fade stretch marks over time. It really tones when you exercise too.
Cassandra I am 13. because of you I got into skincare and found an appropriate skincare routine!!! And you help me discover my dream of being a dermatologist!!! Love you
I feel like if I don’t shave the peach fizz it makes me break out more in my side burns area. Thats one of the reasons I started doing it actually, other than my make up laying better. For me, at least, it makes my skin smoother and in less prone to breaks outs as I do have oily acne prone skin. I just wanted to share!!! I am super gentle though! And a clean razor every time!! Our skin is unique though and what works for some doesn’t work for all.
I used to do my derma planning at an expert. she would prepare my skin: double cleanse, steam, extraction of impurities, wipe again, then dermaplan, seal with a mask topped up with a led light and finally serum , moisturize and sunscreen.
Yes, yes, yes. I fu*ked up my perfect skin. After being motivated by some influencer, I just did it and shaved my face. It felt great at 1st. Smooth soft. But bam, I started to break out after a week, and I was just lost as a newbie. Nobody in my family ever had skin problems, so I am 1st to break it ( Then I moved to another country, and it triggered my acne more. I got scars and a worse time in my 21 years of life. I had no idea how to control it, and now I have to shave my face every week once else it looks weird. In the way of bumpy face, I started skin care. Now, 3 years in skin care. Break out is controlled. But those scars are taking forever. Though it's a lot better and I am traumatized by this. So ladies think and do properly. One wrong step, and it is done for life time
Thank you bunches, Miss Bankson, for setting the common misunderstanding right when it comes to lymphatic drainage! 😊🙏 It is a very gentle and rather "superficial" rhythmic stroking of the skin. It's NOT a Swedish deep tissue massage. 😆
I just want to tell you Cassandra you have completely changed my life. After watching your videos I have become a skintellectual✨️. I always take every single one of your advice, because you are truly intelligent amd trustworthy when it comes to skin.❤ I struggled with acne all my life and you really helped me take better care of my acne-prone skin while not breaking my bank. So thank you❤. I love you and keep doing what you're doing❤✨️💚
Last time I did gua sha was 31/10/2023. I did it say too aggressively. First of november, I woke up crying with the most horrific toothache I've ever had. I had to get an emergency dental appt, went on antibiotics and was in absolute agony for four days. I had no idea it was meant to be done gently, so thank you for educating me. Would you consider doing a video on how to do it your way? Many thanks and big hugs.
When dermaplanning leave your skin alone for a day no makeup or products that do more then the essential just leave it alone. Otherwise you'll break out also advisable to stay out of the sun for long duration.
Thank you so much for acknowledging the roots of guasha! So many East Asian medicine practices are considered ridiculous until it is appropriated and given a new name and its history is erased.
the saddest thing about retinols for me is people being brainwashed to think you HAVE to use tons, and they're like 'yeah your skin is supposed to all fall off that's how you know it's working' and it's like babes no!!!
No hagas eso. Limpia y hidrata bien tu piel. Intenta comer sano.
@@twistedbambi2370 i can’t read what the comment by @GG-cj4jx says because I can’t copy the text in order to translate it. I basically like to remove the small hair on the sides of my face and peach fuzz, in order for a smoother complexion look. Thank you 🙏🏻
when you shave you only cut off the top of the hair so the entire thing is still under the skin. So therefore the oil would still get out through the hair. Unless you wax, this idea doesn't apply.
i haven't experienced any of the issues with retinoids you said, however i have noticed the pores on my forehead especially are extremely visible to me now, probably not to other people, but i never used to be able to see them now they're dark dots all over the outer sides. i definitely don't use a lot of it and i try to not do it all that often, maybe a couple times a week at most now, usually less, been using it for several months now too, plenty of time for my skin to get used to it, and i feel like my skin looks worse now after using this product. -3- Mainly wanted to use it for the softening effect on some fine wrinkles, which i feel it has a little, but now i have other problems i didn't really have before, more ( mild ish ) redness, and visible pores on the outer sides around my nostrils too. i've always had very tiny barely visible pores, so this is new for me, luckily on my forehead its somewhere i can hide it with my hair ._.
Your video made me realize my skin is NOT acne prone, even if I had cystic acne. I know it sounds weird, but I honestly think is true. Cause I finished my meds treatment and haven't had any sort of pimple for FOUR MONTHS, I do a bit of face shaving (mostly cause I have dark hair and I hate it at some areas), and I haven't had an outbreak. I will definitely ask my dermatologist later on about Gua-Sha.
My acne was caused by my rosacea and some mites that I was fighting in my eyes (Blepharitis). So it wasn't hormonal. I was 3 years taking capsules of 20mg of isotretinoin, and 2 years of an antibiotic capsule of doxycycline of 100mg. From each, 1 pill a day. And some dermatological products.
Men shave their face every day. No one hollers about oil production or acne when they do it. I derma once every two weeks. My face has never had a problem.
Men grow hair faster than women generally do on the face, the pore opening is larger due to the thicker beard hair, therefore the oil usually doesn't get trapped in the pore. But there are lots of men with acne where they shave
exactly, because men shave every day. peach fuzz is vellus hair, thinner and grows slower beards are terminal hair (that are related to testosterone) and they grow faster
@@MissKrisLovesthere are women like me that have to shave every day. Alot of this hand wringing over women doing a thing is so annoying, when we have a clear example of someone who is not hurt by it, but actually helped
i have acne prone skin but not super oily skin. i've dermaplaned using a dirty, regular, body razor (i know it's bad for me i'm not doing it anymore!!) out of impulse. it worked great, my skin was smoother and had a healthy glow. why is that? is it because of something else i'm doing? im pretty good with skincare, in fact i love it so much i spend hours shopping online reading reviews and the like it's such a hobby :-) tysm for this video!!
I've tried shaving, waxing, hair removal rechargeable devices, even those stone exfoliating hair removers and every single time I break out 😭 Weirdest part is I inly break out on my checks, but I constantly shave my upper lip and forehead and nothing happens. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong 😢
I had problems when shaving the sides of my face, literally the driest place of my combination skin - red and slightly itchy bumps would appear that only responded to topical steroids. This happened with a normal wet razor or with a dry eyebrow razor. Seems like an eyebrow razor with aloe gel or baby powder does the trick. I also have peach fuzz on my lower back, and each mechanical method of removal left me with even bigger red and very itchy bumps. So now I do IPL without shaving it, because it's a bit dark.
I have prescribed retinal and it’s been a journey I also had to go to a dermatologist because the first kind I was prescribed by the dr was too strong and now I have a mixture from a different brand that works a lot better.
Cassandraaaa, I just saw the cutest thing and it made me think of you- the ingredients are unfamiliar to me as I generally stick to things that don’t aggravate my active acne and cause future breakouts, but please could you have a look at and possibly review some of the ‘I Dew Care’ products. The little kitten theme that runs throughout their line is insanely cute and their cat puns in their product description tightened its grip on me 😂🥹🌈
I’m 37 yet too scared to buy any direct form of retinoid or direct unstable form of Vitamin C. Although I’ve only been through 1 or 3 periods of full-on severe breakouts (requiring medical visits). Other times I dealt mostly with low-level cystic acne. I did see a dermatologist for it. Once it cleared, I stopped treatment. However, for the last few years, I have been dealing with hyperpigmentation. I am too afraid to advance my own treatment. I hope to be guided by my dermatologist to advance me to the stage...
I had dermaplaning done recently by the esthetician at my derms office. That was over a month ago and my skin is just getting back to normal. It may have been a coincidence but I broke out way more than usual and ended up with small bumps all over my face that I could feel but not see. Definitely not for me.
Oily skin here and I can't dermaplane at all. I use PC 2% bha but it doesn't help. I hate the peach fuzz but my skin hasn't tolerated any method. But I also get OILY AF after I've removed the vellous hair.
I have redness, pimples , spots , darkness and more I have been to the doctors but they just give me a cream that irritates my skin you can only help me please I want to be normal !
Since slugging came up, have you seen the Experiment Buffer Jelly? (or just Experiment in general. They have a tiny line of products, but I love them and their lip treatment is my holy grail.) Thank you for such a wonderfully informative video!
You are amazing I am following your Chanel a long time but never leaved the comment. But u are making such amazing job . And I love your cat and your tea cups. I feel you and I believe not just me . Thank u
I get my face waxed and i love it. I tried dermaplaning a few times but I couldn’t quite get the hand off it. Also i dont have great eye sight so its better if someone does it for me, i know its a lot more expensive getting someone else to do it but i dont do much luxury things and i really relax when i get it done. I dont have oily skin so i dont get any problems. My face skin is the most thing i get complimented on and i think its part to do with waxing coz it would also get rid of some dead skin cells.
I waxed my face before… I don’t have Hirsutism (women who have that condition wax their face all the time) anyway I had peach fuzz, nothing bad happened. My skin seemed smooth and I definitely used less foundation/makeup
What about shaving the face in the wrong direction? Would one of the little circular electric female face shavers technically go the wrong direction since it’s moving in a circular motion? I broke out after using mine brand new . So it wasn’t dirty. I’ve not used it again since I broke out . Maybe I should use a straight razor and only shave downward. Thank you 😊
Duuuuude the skin around my eyes were burned when i started retinoids. Not prescription strength. No Vaseline. It took forever to heal and i was embarrassed to look at people. I’m not ok using it but not on my eyes!
i removed my peach fuzz for the first time last week , im pregnant and for the first time in my life am struggling with acne and thought it would help my skincare do its job better , and all i can say is i hate it and cant wait for it to grow back 🤣
I'm an esthetician and I absolutely cringe when I see ppl go to a drug store and buy a "blade" and drag the seraded thing across there face 😬 I'm so glad I'm my biggest experiment..and my mom😅 I remember being so scared when I learned to dermaplane. I had to do it alot before I treated clients. Love u cassandra!!!
Cassandra isn't kidding. 6 yrs ago I dermaplaned in LOW LIGHTING...and still have a few scars because of it. The other thing I screwed up...was dermaroller. Again...not the greatest lighting...my lighted mirror rather sucked at the time. I have scars I am stuck with forever. Needless to say...I am UNFIT TO USE EITHER.
My skin has been acne prone all my life (I'm 30) but I've begun to notice that 1 to 2 weeks after dermaplaning I break out like crazy and if I don't do it my skin is unbelievably smooth, not even a single zit and redness free (i have rocesea too) the reaction wasn't immediate so it took me months to notice that the razor is the culprit. I just kept thinking that the breakouts are because of my usual acne prone skin and hormones or some skincare product having a bad reaction . I'm relieved but also lowkey mad tho, because what I will do about the peach fuzz now😂
I dont understand how We can close the skin by shaving face. I mean, We Cut the hair, but the Oil can stil use the little hair to come up and out….How does We close our skin just by Cutting the hair?
@@megan893 I get it, but I don't think that's healthy for our mind. It's like the way we are brought up in society today with so many distractions, then people wonder why they have a hard time being alone in quiet or why they can't read a book or why they can't meditate. Just saying.
It is annoying but I recognize that it’s just my opinion and it’s not some new epidemic lol. Ever seen old television like The Three Stooges and the like? Hahah Also this seems like a mix of her personal style + methods of censoring no no words on YT. Either way, if you’re goin to make a negative comment, it will come across more effective if you pair it was a positive. Also taking the judgy terminology and syntax out and replacing it with constructive criticism, would make you look less entitled and show appreciation for free content that could actually help you and others lol. Just me and just saying! This upload wasn’t nearly as annoying as some that have free public domain music in the background. Not just any music, but the same music used in a million infomercials. It made me instantly not want to trust her unintentionally JUST because I’d associated that tube with probable lies lol. Even so, I didn’t leave a snarky comment. I didn’t even leave constructive criticism, because she has a ton on subs and is doing something right and doesn’t need pointers from me lol. I was also just thankful that I was able to learn some stuff for free from RUclips haha Sry if I myself seem to be coming off rude. Your comment was just the first to pop up and it was off-putting. I don’t know you or this woman. I also find some of her stuff annoying lol. 🤷🏻♀️
Omg! I’ve had so many mishaps with dermaplaning! I swear my neighbors must of thought I was on meth due to the way my skin looked with flare ups, break outs and cuts!!!
Hi! I have some questions about the gua sha. I learned how to do it months ago from Lanshin's channel, but what i heard is different from what you said in this video. In her tutorials she always explains that gua sha is not a lymphatic drainage technique, because lymphatic drainage needs very light touch, while on areas like the cheeks, the jaw and the neck gua sha is meant to go deeper to get to muscle level. Plus, for the undereye area she always goes from inner to outer corner... I've been following her tutorials for months now and never saw any irritation/brake outs, but is it actually okay to do it as lanshin teaches, with medium pressure on some parts of the face and a inner-to-outer stroke for the eyes?
I have had really bad skin since a young age. Im 24 now and really suffer with sebaceous filaments on my nose, I have used so many products any none have worked sadly.
Deleted but try again. Don't extract but clean with clay masks, scrub, soft toothbrush with mild soap. Use salicylic acid, niacinamide, tretinoin and sunscreen.

Dry skin wrinkles and Oily skin sags.
aging mostly not about wrinkles.
@@shiko5888This happens to everyone. Even you.

I have PCOS, grow a beard and shave every other day... It's helped cut back on my acne. I tried one of those dermaplaning razors and hated them. I stick with a three or four blade razor and sensitive skin friendly shave gel. Works for me.
LITERALLY same. I use retinol the recommended way too. I
I also use retinol as recommended. I still get acne but my cell turnover rate is fast. it doesn't stay terribly long.

What are you using to deal w the scars? One of my sons has acne and rips open his skin :/
Which razor do you recommend?
The disgust with hair, especially something as trivial as peach fuzz, is ridiculous.
@@iamwalter8902 fr and everyone is buying it
Yes
Whts hypochlorus
@@Buttercup553 It's an antimicrobial spray.
Personally, I can't use Retinoids or The Ordinary's AHA/BHA Salicylic acid as I have sensitive skin with Rosacea! I CAN use the 2% Salicylic Acid by CeraVe and it does work!
Even that stuff irritated my sensitive skin. Granted, I could've used it wrong. I just don't see it as worth it.
How did you damaged your skin
I’m 28 and I’ve realized less is more for my skin. The second I start doing too much skincare, my skin breaks out and sometimes becomes open wounds. Ph balancing toner, hypochlorus acid, cerave and bandages have helped me tremendously.
I'm too clumsy to dermaplane my skin. Theres a chance that I can cut myself.
First time I "dermaplaned" I cut the sh*t up out of my face. Added astringent and boy, did it really hurt. I tried once more, it was ok. No cuts but it is not for me.
Try a safety razor. You can replace the blades.
Try the Flawless brand. It’s electric so you don’t have to worry about cutting yourself
It’s unnecessary anyways
I dermaplane my face once and got all these micro cuts all over my face 😭 you cant really see the cut, but it stings so bad. Never again lol

Omg I’m finally the first butterfly here!!!!
Nobody in my family ever had skin problems, so I am 1st to break it (
Then I moved to another country, and it triggered my acne more.
One wrong step, and it is done for life time
Why do you look like Jesus in the thumbnail

Thank you bunches, Miss Bankson, for setting the common misunderstanding right when it comes to lymphatic drainage! 😊🙏
It is a very gentle and rather "superficial" rhythmic stroking of the skin.
It's NOT a Swedish deep tissue massage. 😆

Is a safety razor an alternative to a dermaplaner? The blades cost pennies and are easily switched out for each use.
Yes, that's what I use. I love it.
I love your personality!!
Can you please make a video on how to dermaplane if you have acne-prone skin?
No hagas eso. Limpia y hidrata bien tu piel. Intenta comer sano.
For the reasons she mentions, it is not recommended to do that. What are you looking to do, so we can help you find alternatives?
@@twistedbambi2370 i can’t read what the comment by @GG-cj4jx says because I can’t copy the text in order to translate it.
I basically like to remove the small hair on the sides of my face and peach fuzz, in order for a smoother complexion look. Thank you 🙏🏻
This is why I leave it to the professionals - I wouldn't dare dermaplane at home. I don't have it done a lot, but when I do, I go to the salon
when you shave you only cut off the top of the hair so the entire thing is still under the skin. So therefore the oil would still get out through the hair. Unless you wax, this idea doesn't apply.
Are you an aesthetician?
i haven't experienced any of the issues with retinoids you said, however i have noticed the pores on my forehead especially are extremely visible to me now, probably not to other people, but i never used to be able to see them now they're dark dots all over the outer sides. i definitely don't use a lot of it and i try to not do it all that often, maybe a couple times a week at most now, usually less, been using it for several months now too, plenty of time for my skin to get used to it, and i feel like my skin looks worse now after using this product. -3-
Mainly wanted to use it for the softening effect on some fine wrinkles, which i feel it has a little, but now i have other problems i didn't really have before, more ( mild ish ) redness, and visible pores on the outer sides around my nostrils too. i've always had very tiny barely visible pores, so this is new for me, luckily on my forehead its somewhere i can hide it with my hair ._.
What was the treatment?
But there are lots of men with acne where they shave
exactly, because men shave every day.
peach fuzz is vellus hair, thinner and grows slower
beards are terminal hair (that are related to testosterone) and they grow faster
Well man have thicker than women
@@MissKrisLovesthere are women like me that have to shave every day. Alot of this hand wringing over women doing a thing is so annoying, when we have a clear example of someone who is not hurt by it, but actually helped
One of my clients has to Dermaplane every two days because of PCOS. She is also oily. Exactly!
i have acne prone skin but not super oily skin. i've dermaplaned using a dirty, regular, body razor (i know it's bad for me i'm not doing it anymore!!) out of impulse. it worked great, my skin was smoother and had a healthy glow. why is that? is it because of something else i'm doing? im pretty good with skincare, in fact i love it so much i spend hours shopping online reading reviews and the like it's such a hobby :-) tysm for this video!!
I've tried shaving, waxing, hair removal rechargeable devices, even those stone exfoliating hair removers and every single time I break out 😭
Weirdest part is I inly break out on my checks, but I constantly shave my upper lip and forehead and nothing happens.
So now I do IPL without shaving it, because it's a bit dark.
i am only 10 years old and I would use way to much skincare and I stared watch you and now I actually am using the right product for my age

2:29 OMG! Is that why I breakout every time I shave?!?!? 😮😮😮
The little kitten theme that runs throughout their line is insanely cute and their cat puns in their product description tightened its grip on me 😂🥹🌈
FYI Cassandra Vaseline is coming up as an affiliate. I know you don’t normally recommend them since they’re not cruelty free
Also, dermaplane at night! Don't put makeup right over it because it will break you out.
Thank you so much for this information 👏🏼👏🏼
Omg that makes sense to why I break out in the lower half of the face after I tweeze or shave! I have oily skin!
you should try the innisfree canola honey lip balm! its sooo good
She is vegan so if it has actual honey in it she probably wouldn’t want to…
I’m 37 yet too scared to buy any direct form of retinoid or direct unstable form of Vitamin C.
For derma planing, can one not just simply use the normal razor (2,3,4 or 5 blades) for body shaving? A new one of course.
I do have dermaplaning done, but only when I get my facials. I would never do it myself! I was always afraid I would cut myself.
We both speak the same language!😂 just discovered you on the YouBoob! You are funny and educational! Just subscribed!😁🥰💙
I'm in the process of undoing what shaving my face has done to my skin, my skin break out. I have oily acne prone skin so dermaplaining is not for me.
I had dermaplaning done recently by the esthetician at my derms office. That was over a month ago and my skin is just getting back to normal. It may have been a coincidence but I broke out way more than usual and ended up with small bumps all over my face that I could feel but not see. Definitely not for me.
Thank you for teaching me ♥️🙏
Oily skin here and I can't dermaplane at all. I use PC 2% bha but it doesn't help. I hate the peach fuzz but my skin hasn't tolerated any method. But I also get OILY AF after I've removed the vellous hair.

If it isn't breaking you out then there isn't an issue.
Thank you 😊

Again...not the greatest lighting...my lighted mirror rather sucked at the time. I have scars I am stuck with forever. Needless to say...I am UNFIT TO USE EITHER.
The way you said petroleum! Wow. Thats said differently in the UK .

Please do a gua sha video
