Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid that occurs as a natural compound in plants. It has direct activity as an anti-inflammatory agent and acts as a topical antibacterial agent due to its ability to promote exfoliation.

Niacinamide is both an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant.

I'm thrilled to have finally found a product that cleared my forehead of thick scaling skin. I've suffered with this for years and I couldn't be happier with this product. I hope if you have very dry to peeling, flaking skin, you'll try this product too.

Hello Carol, So nice to see you and glad to hear things are coming along for your drying skin. I haven't tried this company and so many have enjoyed a lot of their products, I will check them out, I know a cleanser some love from them as well as a serum I think? I do get very dry skin now with the Winter months and we are in the brisk cold temps, it is 3 degree's here so yes very cold!! I hope you will give this cream a try. But, if you don’t need Salicylic Acid then buy their regular moisturizer for dry skin.

Hello. You mention that the ingredients in cerave work great for mature skin. I am 29 and have dry skin on my face that flakes as well and in the same areas you mention. On my forehead and on my cheeks. Do you think this cream would work for me? I have yet to find a moisturizer that can really hydrate my skin. I just got some clinique moisture surge and their yellow lotion. We will see what happens.
Kanela you need ceramides. The skin barrier holds moisture in the skin. When it’s damaged it can’t do its job. When we see peeling and flaking we know the skin barrier is broken. Exfoliate first. I have a video here to show how to remove flaking skin with just a cloth and your cleanser. I believe in this video I explain my entire skincare routine. Give it a try.
