Honda’s Ridgeline may not be the biggest, quickest, or most capable truck on the market, but for about 90% of buyers, it literally is all the truck you’ll ever need. We expect Honda to redesign it for 2026, but the updates for 2024 make it more appealing!
Great trucks! I have a small fleet of these for my home building company. We switched over to these a few years ago from GM half-ton trucks. The time and money saved with these is surprisingly high. Incredibly reliable and efficient, not to mention more comfortable in the cabin (ergonomics/visibility/fit and finish/durability) as well as ride quality. I would recommend them to anyone in the trades.
I’ll say this Ridgeline is perfect for car buyers ~~ Honda was smart when they made this car off of the Pilot platform since it’ll be easier to live with. Also that Honda 3.5L V6 is still a gem of an engine. No matter how old that engine is, it’s still a phenomenal engine that will be very reliable. And the interior may be old, but I still think this looks very easy to use and simple for the average person. Honda got it right with the interior ergonomics.
I'm almost certain this will be my next purchase. I'm not ready to hop on the EV trend yet, but I am ready to transition to a "Truck" that drives like a SUV/Car.

do you have any advice for me? i’m trying to trade in my 2020 rtl ridgeline but don’t know if i should get the 2024 trail or black edition. how are you liking the trail so far??
The subtle changes tot he 2024 Ridgeline (all trim levels) is SO substantial in person. No more flip down arm rests - nice large arm rest / storage compartment. The piano black plastics are gone which held finger prints like crazy and looked so cheap! The ride height is taller. I don't know how or why, I don't think I'm crazy, but in person I swear it sits a tad higher now. Also a big fan of the new gauge cluster. My only gripes or more so wishes are that they'd beef up the front brakes to a larger rotor and caliper combo and that they'd give it a larger external transmission cooler. Those are updates that I made to my gen 1 Ridgeline especially since I do some towing with it. I wish the prices of new vehicles would stop creeping up too! I would LOVE a black edition, but you're looking at 50k for one. Ouch! My gen 1 is still running strong with over 200k on it. The engines are mostly unchanged after all this time, but tuned for more power AND more mpg. I don't know how the engineers managed to improve on BOTH! And thank goodness there's no sign of them down grading to a 4cyl turbo like the newest Tacoma just did. I will take the bulletproof and punchy V6 over a turbo or hybrid any day especially for a truck!
2 things that would make this truck 10/10. #1 timing chain not belt #2 the rear power window lowered the entire back glass not just the little section.
@@babbo507 the only thing I would like on my 2020, would be tow hooks 🪝,on the front! I’m fine with everything else, including the looks! I bought mine after Biden got elected, before everything went up in price! I already had a Prius, but, comfortable and impressive, for my wife, not for my arthritic 78 years old body! We mainly use the Ridgeline, but will drive the Prius into the ground, before trading it in! My second Prius, my last truck! I hope I last as long as the Ridgeline does!
I’m going to miss this engine when it’ll be phased out in a lot of Honda products. The only ones that have it for now are the Ridgeline, the Acura MDX, the Odyssey, and the Passport. I believe that’s it.
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfanYup, by the time the next generation of those vehicles come out and possibly the refresh 2025 Acura MDX, they will replace the VTEC J35 SOHC V6 with the non-VTEC J35 DOHC V6 engine found in 2023-present Honda Pilot.
I love my 2020 Honda Ridgeline. Best vehicle I ever owned and that includes my wife's 4Runner. Honda hit a homerun with this. Only gripe I have is the backseat is the biggest you can get in a midsize truck but my kids are tall(Over 6 feet). They can't sit behind me. Outside of that. Chef's kiss!
Besides the technical details that brought my attention to your video, you have an excellent flow of speech and awesome modulation which is pleasant to hear. Nice review
Sofyan really flexing that deep well of Honda knowledge. Effortlessly, I might add. I remember your review of the ‘09 Ridgeline. I still own that exact spec’d truck 15 years later. Amazing rig.
For 84% of consumers, picking up some hardware and small lumber at Home Depot, driving to the hockey rink in winter and braving the "off road" conditions of a snow-covered Costco parking lot .....this "truck" / SUV meets ALL their needs. Great driving characteristics, great build quality, stellar reliability, good mileage and amazing longevity and practicality. All of those things MISSING from light duty pick-ups from Ford, Ram or GM.
I mean I call bullshit on the great driving characteristics and on the mileage. It's a ridgeline it's based on a pilot, we are not talking about it being great either like a miata or a Rolls-Royce. Second my big lifted offroad truck with all terrain tires gets the same or better mileage than this so I wouldn't be trying to tout its efficiency. If I had a regular road trim the mileage would completely surpass the ridgeline by getting the highway numbers into the low 30s.
I have a 21 Ridgeline. Like Sarah-n-tuned’s review, Honda did not want to make the truck to be like the others. They targeted at what people use a mid size truck for. Daily transportation and on-road driving. Honda has a win. They know they can not compete with Taco or Jeep, so they took the opposite direction and scored a win. Great job Honda.
Off road the Ridgeline did well for Sarah-n-tune too. The hill climb Sarah did with it was as good as the other "real" trucks. I got my 2020 used off lease and still find it to be one of the most comfortable and competent rides. I pull a 14x7 enclosed trailer with it too. My only concern is that Honda has been challenged with some quality issues and recalls (fuel pump, rear view camera, side mirrors) recently. The fuel pump is the most serious and they don't have the fix in yet. 25,000 carefree miles to date.
Nice review as always. I bought a 2023 RL RTL-E about 2 months ago as a replacement for a 2014 Ford F-150 King Ranch that was 'totaled'. The RL has an impressive ride - supple but composed and the truck is very quiet especially on smooth asphalt. The 2024 TS replaced the RTL-E with a similar price but you loose the 8 speaker 'premium' sound system w/in-bed audio. I did drive a 2024 RTL as well but the RTL-E seemed quieter overall. Anyway, this truck is very impressive in its ride, handling and plenty of power when you give the GO pedal a workout. For a mid-size truck this is more than adequate for many 'truck' buyers.
Strange that Honda took the 110v outlet out of the bed for this TrailSport. They only have it in the Black Edition. Considering this is their "outdoor" and "camping" model you would think they would have it. Also, strange they pulled other features like the upgraded radio out of this. It would be nice if this had all the features of the RTL-E this replaced in the lineup. Hopefully Honda realizes this mistake when they refresh this model. People want the offroad version with all the features. Either that or they need to offer 2 versions of the trailsport.
Honda's biggest issue is offering customization to their trims. Something they can't compete against with the big three of the U.S. Their business model is streamlined for U.S. buyers because it reduces their manufacturing line costs here. It lets them pay their U.S. workers "less" (compared to other countries where they manufacture) and reduces investment in the manufacturing line equipment.
I own a 22 RTL-E with the outlet in the back, and I’m an avid camper. I have never once used it, and it’s honestly not that great considering it’s an ungrounded port. Best bet for campers these days is a battery/inverter/solar combo like Jackery, Ecoflow, or Anker.
I bought mine because it is the right height to get in and out of! I don’t want any more clearance! When it works for me, it works for me! I added stock bed cover for snow, and Ridgeline Running Boards, for my wife and children. Seems to have more than enough clearance for my needs. The Original tires work fine for me in 12” of snow, but your needs maybe different!
Finally someone who said what I was thinking.with the seat height. I’m 5’9 and I can just slide in. they should do the trail sport with 2” more ground clearance and leave the rest at the same height. I have a tundra pro and it sets up to high. My wife has a pilot and when my knee is acting up the pilot is way better to drive. Considering trading for a ridgeline but waiting to here what 2025 will bring.
You say last year Honda sold the most Ridgelines ever.. REASON is - Not everyone wants a 20 foot long, pedestrian killing, full sized, giant, tank like, gaudy, 7 foot tall truck like the "big 3" keep making.
Lol most people who owns a Ridgeline are elderlies, who wouldn't make any use of a truck but still wanna be able to throw flowers and dirt in the back,
@@hacklaurent9412 Wrong. Many city dwellers love the utility of the pickup while keeping a smaller footprint on the road. It drives like a car rather than a boat. The majority of full size truck owners do not need a truck. They're simply pavement princess trucks that they cannot park right and turn in tight spaces.
Bought my 2024 Trailsport a month ago. Absolutely love it. Tougher look, much improved infotainment center, and great new refresh features in the interior. Love the Ridgeline badge on the rear as well. Really happy with my purchase.
I test drove one of these. It's very comfortable and has nice tech. My question is what is the official 0-60 time? I get anywhere from 6.2 sec to over 7 secs.
@@bruceleeroy8302these Honda V6 engines are really quick for being naturally aspirated engines ~~ I mean 6.3 seconds in this car is very quick for a truck like that
I think it would be beneficial for them to instead offer the HPD that has a real upgraded suspension. A “tuned” version with another 10-15 hp would also be cool.
They’re gonna need a full redesign for 2025 to stay relevant and bring the Ridgline in line with the rest of the Honda families new designs. Excited to see what they have in store.
If you live in a location that gets lots of snow the IVTM4 is a big reason to buy. I have a 20 RTL-E and put snow tires all around and it handles the snow and slush better than any “regular” truck.
Honda has finally addressed all my concerns. The only thing I'd like to see is a mega cab that has more back seat room but no one else does this in the segment soo its just me being overly picky
@@rolieg81 Good point. A lot of people think they’re insulting it, but they’re actually complimenting it. Especially, when they call it an SUV and not a truck. Trucks drive like garbage.
Great review, thank you. I'm about to pull the trigger on a RTL. I was very pleasantly surprised when I test drove it this past weekend. This would be my first truck. The raised rear seats is the perfect space for my dog and overall, this fits our lifestyle great as well.
I had a 21' RTL-E that I leased to give it a try. Never had a big vehicle before. Now I drive an Integra Type S. Always wanted to have a super sport compact. My roots are FWD and manual so this perfectly fit the requirement. Never imagined that I was going to miss it so much, the bed trunk is the best feature it had. My lifestyle got adjusted towards a pickup. At least we have an Odyssey in the house that can do some of hauling. Definitely if Im in need of a another vehicle in the future. It will be a Ridgeline.
You're me in reverse. I went from a Type-R to Ridgeline. Loved the go-fast, but the Ridgeline is the vehicle that fits the 98% of my automotive needs. I have a '21 Blk Ed. with 47K. Runs/drives/looks new. Nothing but oil & filters at regular intervals. I expect it to go for a long time.
Great and thorough review. I’m currently looking at both the 23 and 24 models. The 24 models have a few nice upgrades, but the 23’s have some outstanding discounts in my area if you can find one. I can’t decide whether to go with the newer version or save some money in these inflationary times.
We have a 2017 Ridgline and for the most part still like it minus the god aweful entertainment system and gage cluster. However, was expecting more from Honda even for a remodel as it doeen't look, drive or moved the game on in 7 years (2nd generation). Think Honda could have taken more risk rather than play it safe! However old saying if its not broke don't change it!
@@Marbind what features do they have that isn't on a sub 30k car? Automotive prices are ridiculous generally speaking. A cheap car is now 30k. Vehicles should be WAY cheaper due to technology making manufacturing way more efficient.
All new trucks come with turbo 4-6 cylinders and all kinds of crazy tech. GM's V8s are still having valvetrain issues. Ford Coyote wet belt pump, no start stop disable button, ticking complaints galore = no thanks. My last pentastar went 70k until it lost a headgasket, now they really want me to get a turbo inline version??. I cant believe that I'm seriously looking into a Ridgeline. Honda has a major oportunity to keep it simple and reliable and win some new customers.
The new 2025 Ridgeline has a large new in dash computer system that rivals the F150 Platinum. The sleek new display is fully embedded in the dash. The new interior is more luxurious and less durable than the austere 2024. The engine was detuned 10 hp, and the price increase is fairly modest considering the increase in size and weight.
You will not regret getting the Ridgeline. I bought a 2017 with 130k in 2019. I now have 180k and have never had a single issue. I absolutely love it and I will replace it with a new Ridgeline in another year or so. Right now, every stress-free mile I drive it is a pleasure and a blessing.
I jumped off the American auto maker band wagon years ago when Ford gave us the wonderful 3v 5.4 and Gm/ Dodge gave us cam eating cylinder deactivation on their v8s. I will only buy Toyota or Honda now. Japanese automakers at least still care about reliability and quality
I think most people buying this want to have a comfortable car ride vs a body on frame (read rougher) truck ride. Putting beefier tires for the sake of looking cooler will only hurt your gas mileage. Same for putting goofy wheel arches to make it look off roadie. The Taco's and Chevy/GM twins are for a younger demographic who want cool looking even though they don't take them off road. Honda recognizes who their buyers are.
It needs a 2-3 inch lift from the factory! Otherwise just a street truck with Trailsport badge. I like the Ridgeline, but it could be great if they did this, like Subaru did with their Wilderness models with over 9” inches of ground clearance.
I had a G1 08 for 13 years, my son drives it it now. I was so disappointed to find out that the 21 I have now is actually slightly worse when it comes to ground clearance and approach/break over and departure angles. I was hoping for slightly better, or worse case no change, I got slightly worse. It is fantastic- as my G1 was- on moderately deep snow covered or icy roads. Better than most "real" 4Wd trucks/SUVs I have owned. But, I have never had the nerve to take it off road due to the above mentioned issues, along with zero under body protection on G1 or G2. The new Trail Sport has not solved even one of those problems(though you say they added some skid plates?), so I will not be getting a new one. I was excited to see the Trailsport added, figuring it would get at least every improvement that is on the new Pilot TS. Sadly, no. No significant improvements. 7.6" of ground clearance is pathetic for any truck that goes off road in even mild conditions. So I will stick with what I have, unless I want to get a more off road worthy truck or SUV pf another brand. Maybe they will do a decent upgrade next year, we will see.
Just got the gray metallic (instead of a primer color like this one) Trailsport - I am glad I did after seeing none sense dealer marked up on the Ford's Maverick Lariat at local dealers for a lower end line of trucks due to popularity)- The Ridgleline is adsolutely a much better than the Maverick in many ways in the long haul. Someone said Ridgeline is the truck for non-truck person, that's me! I just need an SUV with a bed. Trailsport comes with everything for a luxurry SUV or truck.
One of the few objective, knowledgeable, reviewers on RUclips. You always mention little details that most people won't notice until they buy the truck. My biggest gripe? Honda interiors have become so depressing. Some contrast stitching and more soft touch materials would go a long way in improving the appearance of all Honda vehicles. A few additional colors would be nice too. And, do we really need paddle shifters in a Honda?
So glad I just watched this video. I bought a 2025 Black edition and my one complaint I had is that I thought the steering wheel didn’t telescope because it doesn’t have the traditional knob for it. So I am glad you went over that because no one else has. I personally like the old reliable engine and smaller screen. My other vehicle is a 20 year old Silverado. I was concerned about getting a modern vehicle but the Ridgeline doesn’t feel like a rocket-ship. It’s the Swiss Army knife of vehicles.
So excited for the new generation. This is a good base. Make it a littke mofe truck like, more aggressive looking, bur keep that smooth SUV driving dynamic. New engine.
I love it and I agree it’s capabilities fit the bill for 80 or 90% of the people out there who need a utility vehicle. However at $46,000 I think it is priced too high compared to the competition like a Colorado. For me to buy a less capable truck it would have to be less cost. I’m not sure I see that here?
Great review. The Ridgeline TrailSport or Black Edition is the bench mark in the midsize segment for my needs. We tow a small camper that weighs 2900 lbs. So, the RL is just fine with its 5,000 lb tow capacity. Plus, at 1,500 plus lbs of real world payload, the RL exceeds the real world payload of many of its competitors. Plus, we value reliability and safety. The RL’s capability plus all of its innovations and features make it a strong contender for us. We plan to buy at the end of 2024.
Given that the bed is of composite material, is it possible to place a rail system? Similar to the utili-track system found in the Nissan Frontier or have a DIY rail system as in the Ford Macerick?
A $46.5k car that still uses halogen bulbs for the high beam is a joke. C'mon Honda. Any car priced above $40k should have all LED headlights if not full LED headlights and taillights.
Was thinking of going for the 24 trailsport, but after watching this video I think I’m going to stick with my 21 black Edition Black on Black . Thought that the trailsport came with more options but I think it is catering to the people who like to do some lite off-roading which is a great idea all in it self. Only option my 21 doesn’t have that the 24 (B.E) does is cooled and ventilated seats and power folding mirrors,But not worth buying a new 24 just for that. Lived with out this long so I quess it wasn’t that important to me lol . Great video.
Couldn't care less about how big the center screen is, but did they fix the audio quality? I've got a 2023 RTL and the system is adequate but hobbled by software that's constantly messing with the equalizer to clip the loud parts of songs. Presumably to protect the lower quality speakers. I can deal with speakers that aren't super crisp but if my music doesn't sound anything like it's supposed to, or the volume keeps fluctuating, I'm immediately annoyed. My 2017 RTL had better sound out of the old, base radio. I also preferred the captains chairs and older center console. It offered more storage space and nobody had to move their arm for the other person to get into it.
still hate that Honda doesn't give the ridgline full led headlights no reason this truck should have halogen high beam it also needs a new interior and I hate the push button transmission but maybe we will get that in the redesign other than that its not bad but pricey
Thinking about trading my 2023 Colorado Z71 for this exact truck - not that I find the Z71 horrible (it's great) but I SERIOUSLY miss a power rear slider and moonroof (like my former truck had) and I want the suspension of this Trailsport and the bed storage. Yeah I lose vented seats (don't care) and some torque (don't use it) but get Honda reliability vs. GM, which makes me a bit skittish.
I have 2021 Ridgeline and I love it. That said, it's ridiculous that Honda did not design a Hybrid for 2024. WTF Over, Honda has had a Hybrid Powertrain for 20+ years, WTF do they choose Not to use it the Ridgeline? Go back to the drawing board Honda!
If only someone would make an actual work topper for it. I love the ARE 3dl on my Taco. But with the new turbo that sucks only lasting about 125k and the non turbo hybrid having a nicad battery from the 1990s I think I’ll be taking another look at the Ridgeline. I usually keep my Tacoma for around 200k so I will be looking in about 3 years. Time will tell.
Sounds like the cabin is very quiet which I like When I’m driving in my ZR2 Colorado the road noise is so loud it makes it hard to have conversation..just saying 🤷♂️..Awesome review Thank you for sharing
fyi on the BE Ridgeline blind spot monitoring does not work below 20mph so, be careful on your slow merges.. adaptive cruise control is not stop and go and does not work below 25mph. the front parking sensors is only one sensor in each corner, it wont detect a parkiing pole or smaller cars.. the vented seats are not that powerful even on high mode. the passenger seat does not have height adjustment. it doesnt have hill descent control. i have a 24 BE so i know now about this stuff
Same! I also had a 2013 Ridgeline. My son bought it from me when I purchased the 2019. The 2013 now has over 100k and has never had 1 issue. They are great trucks!
Thinking that for the next Ridgeline redesign, Honda should take it down a notch and build a CRV-based Maverick competitor. Give us the excellent CRV hybrid awd system in a compact pickup….the field is still pretty wide open at this point.
I had a 2021 Ridgeline RTL-E and one comment about the composite bed ... I never parked mine in a garage and over time the composite bed started to discolor and develop white-ish patches ... not what I want to see on a $40K+ vehicle. Who knows, maybe Honda got a bad bunch from a supplier ... regardless though it was a disappointment and detracted from the RL which is a decent (but not great) truck-like vehicle and the MPG wasn't great either ... so I was left scratching my head (or a**) why did I give up the towing and cargo capacity of a full size pickup that gets more or less the same MPG??? and Yes I sold it a few months ago ... Thanks Keith Chicago IL
Test drove the Ridgeline and I loved how it drove and handles. It also has some amazing utility with the composite bed, the in the bed trunk, etc. However, the Ridgeline desperately needs the interior of the new Pilot. I hate the infotainment and the sound of the radio. In addition, so many of the interior bits look cheap. I am a previous owner of a 2006 Ridgeline and the interior of the 2024 Pilot also would restore the shelf above the dash that the 1st generation Ridgeline had.
So Honda fixed the wireless charger? We have had so many customers come in with iPhones with Magsafe ruining the wireless chargers. They charge for like 5 seconds and then stop charging. We were told Honda was looking into it years ago when Magsafe became a thing. We have yet to hear from Honda on the "updated" chargers.
I feel like Honda is cheaping out being honest and keeping it plain. Compared to other companies that are stepping up and adding some more interior color, stitchings etc.
Still wish these trucks had a higher clearance other than that I really like what I see. The price, that seems a bit high, 46K I would just buy a full size truck.
Its a shame that Honda didn't install a lift kit, larger tires and skid plates on the Trail Sport Edition Ridgeline. My friends 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro X definitely got my attention. 🤔
As a 2nd 2017 Ridgeline owner, i hope they make the Ridgeline less of a Pilot "modified" for truck duties. Which from my actual ownership( 187K miles) they wanted the least cost way to have something in the truck segment. i.e. problematic 6 spd auto, narrow rear doors, and infotainment update + injectors, CV axles, and water intrusion issues. 9spd since 2020 seems good and proves very reliable. Engine is kinda long in the tooth the 3.5 sohc and even the new dohc. My hope for the resigned, a hybrid or even mild hybrid, you would think from honda with their legendary generators would have integrated something. On that updade the damn 2 prong plug with 3 and update the dirty modified Sine wave ( feel bad honda). The rear bed trunk is usefully but the spare storage is useless. Its a donut and if you get a large spare it wont fit. Relocate the spare to under the vehicle and lower the bed depth( out going is quite shallow) + make the tailgate damped ( they can figure it out ) The dream is a hybrid with beefy rear 50kw electric motors and a marriage from the crv 2.0 hybrid/rdx 2.0t in the front. Delete the propeller shaft and add a large ish 3kwh battery pack. Probably can lower the cabin floor as well. Maybe a pipe dream but the idea is to have a hybrid honda clarity truck. With the ability act like like a generator
That was my issue also with my 2021 ridgeline when i added low profile tonneau cover. I cant close it if put 25Liter jerry can and even the 65liter cooler wont fit. The solution is I bought 20liter jerry can and smaller cooler.
Honda’s Ridgeline may not be the biggest, quickest, or most capable truck on the market, but for about 90% of buyers, it literally is all the truck you’ll ever need. We expect Honda to redesign it for 2026, but the updates for 2024 make it more appealing!

I will take the bulletproof and punchy V6 over a turbo or hybrid any day especially for a truck!
It's not just you
I test drove it last week
Looks much taller in person
My J35 V6 in an Accord Coupe still runs great even at 240K miles. They're rock solid engines.
Why does that coupe need a V6? Never knew that, interesting
@@TapTwoCounterspelleven the sedan up until the 9th generation still had a V6 so not just the coupe~~
Have you replaced the timing belt? Cost?
@@Noone-dy7sh Once before and another one coming up soon. About $1100-1200.
@@christamu2 The dealer I visited quoted me $2500.
2 things that would make this truck 10/10. #1 timing chain not belt #2 the rear power window lowered the entire back glass not just the little section.
And #3 lift it another inch or two. Then you're in business!
Yeah those would be amazing changes
@@babbo507 the only thing I would like on my 2020, would be tow hooks 🪝,on the front! I’m fine with everything else, including the looks! I bought mine after Biden got elected, before everything went up in price! I already had a Prius, but, comfortable and impressive, for my wife, not for my arthritic 78 years old body! It has that good ole' Honda 3.5 V6. Can't beat it! This might not be the flashiest vehicle, but it is simple and reliable which has a lot of value.
Timing belt is ridiculous in 2024.
Had a 2010 Crosstour and that 3.5 was like butter and never a hiccup ever.
I’m going to miss this engine when it’ll be phased out in a lot of Honda products. The only ones that have it for now are the Ridgeline, the Acura MDX, the Odyssey, and the Passport. I believe that’s it.
Dont buy, dont complain simple @@americandude3825
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfanYup, by the time the next generation of those vehicles come out and possibly the refresh 2025 Acura MDX, they will replace the VTEC J35 SOHC V6 with the non-VTEC J35 DOHC V6 engine found in 2023-present Honda Pilot.
Former Chevy guy here! But, I became a honda service advisor last August. I absolutely love the Ridgeline. I want the white black edition.
Same here. The 2020 has better aerodynamics than the new ones as well.
Why better than the 4Runner? I am considering both.
100% agree
But you can't wipe your nose on your sleeve like you can driving an F-250.
Well said. Agree 100%
My question is how does it handle the curbs in the Starbucks parking lot?
A very sensible and practical vehicle.
This filming spot has started to look familiar I always notice the red barn 😂Keep up the amazing work!
Don't forget the rtle still got power outlet and not the ts
I like that I can shut the engine off in Drive and the ECM automatically put the transmission in Park.
My 2021 ridgeline is great. Does everything I need a truck to do.
Can you review the Black Edition? I'm looking to get one and I'd love to see it get the Redline treatment.
@heyitsbroski you're not wrong but around my around most the Ridgeline owners are old
That's exactly right.
I have never hit a pedestrian in my duramax 😂
Bought my 2024 Trailsport a month ago. Absolutely love it. Tougher look, much improved infotainment center, and great new refresh features in the interior. Love the Ridgeline badge on the rear as well. Really happy with my purchase.
How's the comfort when driving from point A to be point B?
I love my 2011, 230k miles. Here in Oklahoma I am considered a minivan driver.
I test drove one of these. It's very comfortable and has nice tech. My question is what is the official 0-60 time? I get anywhere from 6.2 sec to over 7 secs.
19:16, that you! That is a refreshing response
@@bruceleeroy8302these Honda V6 engines are really quick for being naturally aspirated engines ~~ I mean 6.3 seconds in this car is very quick for a truck like that
Would be sick if Honda make a type r version of this. 330HP type r engine, manual with bucket seats. Would definitely get one lol
It would be interesting, but at that point you would be better served by a Civic Type R. A Ridgeline like that would be performance compromised
@@Aki_Lesbrinco already have a type r, wanna add a truck lol
I think it would be beneficial for them to instead offer the HPD that has a real upgraded suspension. A “tuned” version with another 10-15 hp would also be cool.
They’re gonna need a full redesign for 2025 to stay relevant and bring the Ridgline in line with the rest of the Honda families new designs. Excited to see what they have in store.
If you live in a location that gets lots of snow the IVTM4 is a big reason to buy. I have a 20 RTL-E and put snow tires all around and it handles the snow and slush better than any “regular” truck.
Honda Ridgeline black edition has cooled seats that makes me happy
that's sorta mandatory for me, I really wished Honda would NOT just do that in their top trim level.
Honda has finally addressed all my concerns. The only thing I'd like to see is a mega cab that has more back seat room but no one else does this in the segment soo its just me being overly picky
I like the Ridgeline. It’s basically an Accord with a truck bed.
I know you're trying to insult it, but a truck that drives like a car is actually a good thing to me.
The accord is one of the best cars ever made.. so that is a good thing.

@@toddtharp4226 I wanted to keep both. 🤣
Why would you like to see a 12.3 inch display? 12.2 too small but 12.4 would be pushing the costs up?
46k is just ridiculous. Truck prices in general are absurd. Plus with with the high APR right now, these manufacturers are out of their minds.
Keep in mind this one comes with a lot features.
Even the basic one comes loaded.
The cheap trucks of the past were barebone basic.
@@Marbind what features do they have that isn't on a sub 30k car? Automotive prices are ridiculous generally speaking. A cheap car is now 30k. Vehicles should be WAY cheaper due to technology making manufacturing way more efficient.
Purchased my 2022 rtle for 45, which includes a very comprehensive extended warranty. Totally satisfied with the truck and purchase.
Average price of a new vehicle in the USA right now is 48K. So really it is right in that range.

With age wisdom.☺️
I'm 30 and want one 😅
I am in my 40's and I love my Ridgeline
I'm also in my 30s and looking to own one 😂 it just checks all the boxes for me
All new trucks come with turbo 4-6 cylinders and all kinds of crazy tech.
And bigger tires
It would be interesting to see the new pilot v6 and 10 spd in here. None the less the performance figures are quite good
I had a G1 08 for 13 years, my son drives it it now.
It's perfect for 98% of people who will be driving it.
New engine.
Lift/level kit does wonders for this truck.
Imo the screen is perfect don't want a TV on my dash
14:06 Actually that is a brand new built in Honda navi, not the old garmin system.
Make it a little more aggressive in a full size truck and you would have a really nice truck
The premium stereo sounds pretty damn good…it’s worth getting.
A truck with push buttons for changing transmission is just not very trucky. They need to replace that with a shift lever.
Honda trucks whips looks beautiful ❤this!!!
That sunroof top should be a little bigger. Wow.
Are they doing a full redesign for 25?
still hate that Honda doesn't give the ridgline full led headlights no reason this truck should have halogen high beam it also needs a new interior and I hate the push button transmission but maybe we will get that in the redesign other than that its not bad but pricey
6 Ft bed is on my list of desirable options
I have 2021 Ridgeline and I love it. That said, it's ridiculous that Honda did not design a Hybrid for 2024. WTF Over, Honda has had a Hybrid Powertrain for 20+ years, WTF do they choose Not to use it the Ridgeline? Go back to the drawing board Honda!
Talking about how the glovebox ‘cheaply falls’ made me laugh.
No recovery hooks?
I got the 2019 Ridgeline. And I love it.
Now look at all the other manufacturers making similar trucks.
Same! I also had a 2013 Ridgeline. My son bought it from me when I purchased the 2019. The 2013 now has over 100k and has never had 1 issue. They are great trucks!
ventilated seats? 360 camera?

I wish I got this instead of my Ranger Lariat Tremor
Lol. Sarcasm. Good one
How much was that Tremor? ;-)
Same remote from 9th Gen Accord 👌🏽
Would you buy a 2024 Ridgeline or 2024 4Runner (final year with the V6)??
I feel like Honda is cheaping out being honest and keeping it plain. Compared to other companies that are stepping up and adding some more interior color, stitchings etc.
Ridgeline is so underrated. They are way better now.
Good enough for me truck made in America for Americans
Hard touch materials are a good thing! You could wash them and they take a beating.
Honda almost made the perfect truck with the black edition but then put gloss black all over the interior.
Still wish these trucks had a higher clearance other than that I really like what I see. The price, that seems a bit high, 46K I would just buy a full size truck.
Its a shame that Honda didn't install a lift kit, larger tires and skid plates on the Trail Sport Edition Ridgeline.

Love my vtec. Getting rid of it would be a mistake imo. Sounds good too, as you've mentioned.
Relocate the spare to under the vehicle and lower the bed depth( out going is quite shallow) + make the tailgate damped ( they can figure it out )
The dream is a hybrid with beefy rear 50kw electric motors and a marriage from the crv 2.0 hybrid/rdx 2.0t in the front. Delete the propeller shaft and add a large ish 3kwh battery pack. Probably can lower the cabin floor as well. Maybe a pipe dream but the idea is to have a hybrid honda clarity truck. With the ability act like like a generator
The bed needs to be a few inches deeper
That was my issue also with my 2021 ridgeline when i added low profile tonneau cover. I cant close it if put 25Liter jerry can and even the 65liter cooler wont fit. The solution is I bought 20liter jerry can and smaller cooler.
Great review & truck!
I don't understand why they didn't give it any extra ground clearance.
