    I've been wearing my Galaxy Watch Ultra for about 2 weeks and I agree with your findings. I'm 70 years old now and starting to slow down my physical activities and more concerned about steps, energy scores, heart beat, etc. I have a home fitness gym with a treadmill, elliptical machine and a Bowflex. I've found I can get a solid 2 days of battery life with everything ON. It tracks well for heart rate, temp, duration of workouts, etc. I also like the irregular heart beat monitoring and sleep score. I upgraded from the Galaxy Watch5 Pro and it's a much better smart watch. Thanks for the review.

      Hey, the weight training tile is pretty good. There's also individual body parts weight training, but it's too much of a hassle! Spinning and yoga classes are pretty accurate, though! The GPS location for MTB trail centers is spot on. I double-checked with my previous recordings on Strava! The only thing is, if I crash, I might damage the head unit, so I'd recommend getting a protective guard!

    • @Kilaruness
      @Kilaruness 2 месяца назад

      @@leeslimz7606 It all depends on our individual ideas of 'great battery life' I guess. My Watch 7 44mm BT version easily lasts 3 days with AOD off, gestures off, continuous health monitoring and sleep tracking on at night and a 45 minute workout everyday which uses GPS. All of these even before the update and the update didn't really change anything. In my opinion, this is great battery life, for some who want a battery that lasts a week, this might be disappointing. You cannot compare it with the Ultra that has 50% more battery that the 44mm and double the battery size of the 40mm. It's double the price of these both.

      That's the thing with optical sensors. It could perform wildly different on different wrists with different bands and different levels of snugness. We all have different body fat percentages, hair density, skin color, etc... Lots of variables. The only way to do a proper test would be to find a group of 20-30 strangers and average the results from the same group with every device.

    I'm liking it so far. The accuracy is much improved when compared to the previous Samsung watches. I primarily got it for the smart watch features and LTE connectivity so that I dont have to run with my phone. My Epix Pro 51mm is my main fitness tracker, but I wear the Samsung watch on my other wrist. The overall design is growing on me. I have the same color as you and think it looks better with the dark gray trail band. I do hope Samsung adds support for external sensors in the native app.

    • @Tha-King-Arthur
      @Tha-King-Arthur 2 месяца назад +1

      The GPS from the Epix 2 Pro is not accurate.. When i'm walking in the city between buildings on both sides the GPS is measuring my walk 20 meters off. It says i'm walking on the other side of the street. And walking inside a mall, the Epix 2 pro is measuring that i'm walking outside of the mall while i'm actually inside...
      The Samsung watch 7 Ultra sometimes measures the correct path in a zigzag shape, but it does measure the correct path. The Samsung also takes the correct measurement between buildings and inside a mall it is still measuring that I am walking in a shopping center.

    • @mherald
      @mherald 2 месяца назад

      @Tha-King-Arthur you might want to check your configurations on the Epix Pro. I feel it's more accurate than the Galaxy Watch Ultra, especially in difficult situations. Now, the Galaxy Watch Ultra isn't bad, but the antenna design is probably better in the Epix.

    the thing about the design they probably needed the shape to increase the battery size and maybe for the new bio sensors?
    But use the apple ultra 2 as an example. It has a rectangular display screen. Had Samsung gone down that route, people will be then scoffing it's a blatant copy/clone.
    So they went with this. Whatever way they took they'd still get criticized. Personally i don't really care about the copy accusations, i would have prefered had their display be the same size and shape as the apple ultra 2. Primarily because that has more display retail space, and it doesn't have rounded edges which cuts off stuff like UI among other things due to screen shape constrictions.
    The downside to that though, is the round shape for watch faces are all circles, so to use it on a rectangular design won't be as good. So they would have then have to do a completely new design unique to a rectangular shaped display screen.
    You would also not have a rotating bezel with that design. But that only works with a circle shape. But the reason given why they didn't add that this time around was because that rotating mechanism would impact the durability rating which was why it was omitted. Marques said something interesting, that they should done it anyway even if it impacted durability. If they did do that and release some special edition with disclaimer that now it might not work in water at all, and durability rating is impacted, would then people complain about that?
    My point is, people will just complain no matter what even if they add what people critisized it for.
    quantified scientist did some testing on ring, and the results were not good. the only thing then left for it would be the reduced battery drain when paired to the watch, but with those poor accuracy results.... yikes. the ring isn't cheap and if the accuracy is poor, that is a hard sell.

      The battery its exactly the same one used inside the smaller galaxy 5 pro and i dont understand the talk about ruggedness and waterproofing issue of a rotating bezel : basically all the exploring and diving mechanical watches have a rotating bezel and mechanical watches are much much more delicate than digital ones , looking at the exploded view from samsung the bezel its just a cosmetic piece of metal glued in the front and i ve read already a couple of reviews on amazon saying that the bezel its really easy to scratxh and dent as its made from a soft metal.
      In the end the fixed bezel its just samsung being cheap.

    I hate on samsung watches that I cant connect any sensors. I ve had Samsung Watch 4 and when I went for a run, 21km (2hours) listening to music, I came home and they turned off. So GPS+music 2hours battery life made me switch to Garmin Fenix 7X pro and now I couldnt go back. The battery on garmin is awesome, 30+ hours of GPS is mindblowing. And I barely used any of a smart features of a samsung. I used payments and calling. Calling is one feature I miss the most on my Garmins. Great video!

Garmin has an great battery with amazing health features but a very slow and boring software experience, no decent smartwatch functions, 95% of the apps are useless to download and the GPS inaccurate in city's.. As a cyclist this makes this watch next to useless, it will not communicate with my power meter, bike drive train, cadence sensor, speed sensor etc, or gym equipment that I use. So for collecting my training metrics totally iseless. This is hardly a sports watch, Garmin, Suunto, Polar and similar devices are all proper sports watches which will communicate with ant + sensors and devices. Then there is the battery life, very poor when compared to a proper sports watch.

      I could be wrong according to the comments on this video it's metal.
