I've seen two edits of this performance; this is more complete with the "Blinds drawn" Cass and Denny funny bit included, yet has a strange truncated ending. It's a masterpiece of great soaring harmonies and chord changes, intricate and beautiful arrangement and interesting, unusual lyrics. An instant favorite when it was first released because it sounds so beautiful, new and unique. Nobody sounded like The Mamas and the Papas then or now. Thanks!
Great song great musicians and singers and great harmonies from all especially (CASS ) What a beautiful person she was .GODBLESS you CASS You will Always be my (SHINGING SO BRIGHTLY🌟
Cass’ harmonies on this song touch the soul, ‘Cloudy waters cast no reflection. Images of beauty lie there stagnant. Vibrations bounce in no direction, but lie there shattered into fragments’ Pure poetry! The band creates an awesome musical environment!
I love this song. The tone is changing so unpredictable through the song. It's like a flower opening to sunshine 🌞
You are so right, absolute charisma.
So did Manson's family thought
love it too!...
In my eyes The Mamas and Papas are the most brilliant beautiful harmonising group ever.
Me too. Simon and Garfunkel were good as well.
Beautyful song. Brings back great memories.

A beautiful song, which took on sinister undertones in August of 1969.
yes.
Just a fabulous song. Superb harmonies.
Still the best expression of those California years
Agree - the era of no wokeness 👌👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
"Weird scenes inside the Canyon..."
Their harmonies were the best, and this is one of their best. Also, Creeque Alley.
The 1960s had the best songs and the best groups.
My all time favourite mamas and papas song ❤

Mama Cass and Melanie are the queens of powerful and harmonious voices
Totally agreed Sir Dave. 9/17/24
Too cool....the close ups and the way they smile at each other is like heaven.....I can hardly wait too see them again.....😇
I assume its Laurel Canyon....
Azusa canyon
@@wesponsford922 no it's the famous Laurel Canyon.
Correct
Nothing like them before or after.
Hippie California all the way

The hippie girls modeled after michelle
So poignant..more than a half century later...
awesome gives me goosebumps.... when music was actually good and moving....
This edit chops off too soon. Dislike
John was a great composer and musician but as a man.......
This is creepier than any metal band. Just seems like a sex or death cult style of hypnotic music
You nedd to listen to the rest of their music, Einstein. Nothing cultish about it. Smh...
@@AlexandertheGreat99 Einstein would hate this. And I do too
@@caughtlooking2019You're either On the Bus, or you're off the Bus.
Cass was jealous of the beautiful slender Michelle and would break putrid wind 💨 on stage to sicken the younger woman
I hate this song so much
Congratulations
Capitan Styles don’t have to be a smartass
why did you come here then
Sad
