  • Will there be consequences if a cop catches you with stolen Pokemon? Maybe. It depends on whether you have enough cash to bribe him, enough power to destroy him in battle, or a good enough rank in Team Rocket. If so, this will ensure the cop looks the other way and goes back to his speed traps. After all, cops love organized crime.
Also, I added code to ensure the foe's original trainer name is only set to "STOLEN" if that Pokemon was caught during a Trainer Battle while Switch 200 is 1 meaning the player is in Team Rocket. Catching Pokemon during a Trainer Battle can only be done if you are in Team Rocket, and being in Team Rocket disables catching the Shadow Pokemon of your foes. This ID is what NPCs check for when checking if a Pokemon was stolen or not. At the start of the game if you name your player character "STOLEN" the game tells you to pick another name. Shadow Pokemon stolen from the evil Trainers who use them have their original owner's name set to "RESCUED". Team Rocket takes all your Pokemon when you join them, and if you want them back, you must betray Team Rocket and destroy one of their bases, or you must steal enough Pokemon and give them to Team Rocket to get a better rank. Team Rocket's stolen Pokemon can also be purchased at their Black Markets, and high-ranking Team Rocket members get a discount. The local heroic team will let you trade in rescued former Shadow Pokemon for Battle Points that can be spent adopting rescued Pokemon from their Pokemon Shelter.
