    This isn't the best coaster, but it's still one of my favorites. Listening to the music of your choice on a roller coaster is an incredible experience. Song selection is pretty good too with the inclusion of the secret songs. Going through a non-inverting loop with Freebird (112) blasting in your ears is absolutely amazing.

    What is Rip Ride Rockit to me? My 70th coaster!!! I visited Florida for the first time end of April/beginning of May and Universal was my third major park on the trip. I personally thought this ride was amazing, yes there are too many MCBRs lol but I didn't find it to take away from the experience that much. I've yet to ride a Gerstlauer so this had my first vertical lift, quite an interesting experience. I found this ride to have crazy ejector everywhere, including into the midcourse runs, and those tight turns and the (non-inverting?) inclined loop were crazy forceful. Overall just a phenomenal ride and definitely a great fit for Universal. Did not know about the secret playlist so I'll definitely have to try that the next time I go back. Thanks for another great video, Harry!!

    I haven’t seen a single comment mentioning this so far, but the hole in the building that the track goes through actually belonged to Twister before it closed in 2015. If you were standing in the queue you could watch the trains of the coaster speed by and even hear the muffled roar. It’s one of the things I miss honestly.

    It's interesting that some riders feel the brake runs take away from the experience. I don't think it does. Because as soon as you go up into the brake runs there's a decent amount of airtime going into those brake runs because of the speed that you up into those which make those parts a bit intense

    • @tismejaytee

    Unpopular opinion but I like it and think it's better than the Hulk. Now don't get me wrong, the break runs suck and I wouldn't try and compare this to coasters at parks with higher thrills. But if you think of this as more of a family coaster then it's pretty fun. The non-inverting-loop is really cool and the setting, as well as song options, make it a fun coaster. Yes, the break runs ruin the momentum. But it's still a fun coaster in general. You have to think of this as competing with other Universal and Disney coasters and not competing with Sea World or Busch Gardens. In that way, it holds up well and isn't nearly as rough as the Hulk. So while it obviously isn't on par with the flagship coasters of Six Flags, Herschend or Cedar Fair, it is still really fun and allows the line to move faster (which is neccessary if you've ever been to this park.)

    • @revivers6721
      @revivers6721 5 лет назад

      Completely agree, Hulk is one of my least favourite B&M's, I'm always underwhelmed by it. It's better since the redo but can never beat other classic B&M's. Meanwhile, RRR is as good as average B&M hypers in my opinion, and much better than Intrimidator-232 at Carowinds (my least favourite hyper). The RRR doesn't provide constant floater air-time, but the non-inverting loop gives great ejector air-time, and I approve of every gimmick this ride has going. Maurer's finest.

    I‘ve been on this a few times and i can tell you it‘s a great coaster and it‘s fun, the drop may not be vertical, but it is very steep, also i don‘t know how practical it would be for it to be vertical since it‘s such a long drop it‘s gotta curve out somewhere. I can understand people not liking the brake runs, but you do get airtime into em, and the one before the hole in the building gives you a near vertical drop, it would be nice if they did away with the ones before and after the s curve and put in 2 airtime hills, but i still dont think they‘re bad. Atleast they have drops going out of em. Awesome coaster!

    Hey, as a newbie roller coaster enthusiast I have a non-ironic question - why would anyone instal a mid course brake run on a coaster?

    • @2DamnSeddy
      @2DamnSeddy 5 лет назад +3

      TheNomios they are installed to allow multiple trains to safely operate at once. Most coasters are split into different sections - known as ‘blocks’. If the block ahead isn’t clear, the MCBR will stop the train to avoid a collision. Once the block is clear, the brakes will release allowing the train to continue into the next block.

    • @TheNomios
      @TheNomios 5 лет назад

    My daughter worked for several years at the Blue Man Group's box office, which is directly across from the Rip Ride Rockit coaster. EVERY hour it would break down, and she refused to ride it, even though she is a coaster enthusiast. Apparently it still happens and everyone who works at Blue Man watches the many problems that it has. I'm shocked that no one has done an investigational video as to why, and could it harm people eventually?

    • @coasterbot
      @coasterbot  4 года назад +1

      Some rides are definitely less reliable than others. Though poor reliability doesn't mean poor safety. Some roller coasters are extremely over-sensitive, meaning any small thing could cause the ride to shut down. This in turn would make the ride extremely safe but also difficult to operate well over long periods of time.
