I had a uranry track infection that gave me blood poisoning then shut my liver and kidneys down, I was put into an induced coma for 3 days in ICU, drs told my son he had to get to hospital as quick as posible to make a life and death decision on wether to pull the plug on me or not. Thank god the hospital was miles away as he took ages apparently to get there this was september just gone. So when he got to the hospital they said I was starting to improve. I was put on dialysis and really strong antibiotics lost 20kg with in two weeks. I think there should be posters put up in drs surgerys for women to see what can happen untreated

I have Neurogenic OAB with chronic UTIs, which has caused my bladder to empty prematurely, sometimes before I even feel the urge to pee. Even though this is not the cause of the problem, I have found through keeping a diary that caffeine, coffee, non-herbal teas, citrus, aspartame, cow's milk, spicy food, and excessive water intake (from meds) all make my symptoms worse. Since minimizing all of those and starting Sanctura, I have gone from soiling 6-8 pull-ups in a day to just 2-4.

I haven't had a UTI in 15 years then I went on vacation for 2 weeks, had a long plane ride and got dehydrated. Now I had blood once and now if I don't drink tons of water it burns slightly to pee. Tried baking soda, garlic, herb tea to make the urine more alkaline. I'm afraid now it'll go into my kidneys :(. We as average people understand so little about our own digestive system. What we put into our mouth...what it does in the body, and why we need to eliminate poisons as part of the survival as humans process. (Inflammation is the body fight off poisons.)

Given your age, you likely have genitourinary syndrome of menopause due to longtime hormone deficiency. This leads to atrophy of the genitalia and urinary system tissues. It also results in recurrent UTIs. Talk to your gynecologist about starting vaginal estrogen treatment. It has been proven to greatly reduce the recurrence of UTIs by reestablishing proper vaginal PH and microbiome, which allows the body to fight off pathogenic bacteria that travel up through the urethra and into the bladder.

Has there been any research to suggest an underlying cause of PBS/IC? If the lining of the bladder is being compromised, what's causing the deterioration? And how can we help regerate that lost lining? As a urologist, what would be the best possible way for a patient to ask for or suggest another type of urine test like a broth culture or DNA extraction of pathogens in the urine? No one has tried that.....yet.
I have seen so many doctors (urologists included). I get the response that any further urine testing beyond standard cultures would be a waste of time but something is wrong. 😞 I recently had severe flank pain and what felt like contractions in my back, like a kidney infection or stone. Blood and urine tests came back normal! CT scans, normal. The next day at my family practice (went to be referred to a specialist), the doc said my urine looked awful and everything pointed to an active infection. 🤔
I have had a ctyoscopy and the urologist put something in my bladder to help it "relax" (as described in the video). I was told that aside from looking red and irritated, my bladder looked normal. (I wondered what caused the red and irritated part). That procedure threw me into a mad mess. I was in more pain for months after than I ever was before the procedure. On top of that, I've gained weight because I stopped doing exercise....due to the pain. I am avoiding all irritating foods as I was told to do. That has helped.
Is it possible for an infection to lie dormant or hide? Or could it be something a standard culture would miss? Maybe a "perfect storm" of different bacteria? Or could an infection be non-bacterial? Maybe viral or a fungus? Or the bacteria that are found don't fall within the range that justify an infection despite symptoms? I notice that if my urine is very diluted (I drink more water than a horse), the results are negative. If I allow my urine to get more concentrated and can hold it for a couple of hours before I leave a sample, that's when more things pop up. The one positive culture I had-I remember I didn't drink a ton of water that day and my urine was more concentrated. It wasn't on purpose. I did the same thing for my last visit to my family doc (on purpose) and I'm awaiting results. Everything in my urine points to an infection (blood, nitrates/nitrities, WBC), but in general they just can't find the infection itself.
    Suggestions?

What bothers you most about how you urinate, how old are you, prostate related medications, previous urology surgeries, how often at night do you urinate, is it small volumes versus large volumes, is this a nightly issue, any other voiding issues, do you snore most nights or are you diagnosed with sleep apnea, how much fluid do you drink at night? all questions that impact education for you.

It’s not environmental - the issue is a doctor issue. Chronic pelvic pain and IC are non-diagnosis’s. You need to look into the actual cause for the inflammation and pain. Smug doctors like you diagnosing this BS are ruining women’s lives. I’ve heard so many stories of women diagnosed with these mystery illnesses when they a) found infection with better testing, b) had trigonitis that antibiotics weren’t fixing, c) had chronic yeast, or d) simply needed estrogen. Shame on you.

I am NOT a Doctor...I have NOT had a hysterectomy...
however, I did learn from actual experience that the antibiotics are the core of the problem of NOT healing, in some situations. In life / death situtions thank god for emergency medical. However, your meds is killing your Bio Gut (your body's ability to heal from the Food Source [naturally]).
So, anti bodies, kill every body, good germs and bad germs. Think of inflammation as your body in full battle amour out to protect the one it loves and need the most you. The battle is to the death...we actually have "death cells" that go to war in our body to kill invasive "germs". Antibodies don't discrimate.
Try Probiotics and Prebiotics (eating fermentated foods). The word Health... can mean Heal thy self.

Hello I'm not a doctor but someone who deals with chronic UTI's. What has worked for me the last 6 years is garlic. Try and eat it with everything you can. Be careful not to overdo garlic because to much can give you botulism, but if you eat garlic every day you shouldn't have anymore UTI's. Make sure that you keep taking garlic even when you feel ok though, because your infection may not be completely gone then you stop and the infection gets stronger and now is resistant to the previous amount or dosage of garlic and now you will have to take more garlic to get rid of the same infection as before. I eat garlic in everything I can. I also take garlic in pill form as well. organic garlic is more expensive but much better than gmo... perhaps look into growing it yourself? it is something that I am looking into doing soon. Also garlic has anti-inflammatory properties, which will help with pain.. I would also try and do what you can to cut back or have no more sugar in your diet. This is not easy , but sugar feeds the bacteria helping it grow out of control.. . This is what has saved my life, however my problem that gives me UTI's may be different from what gives you your UTI's... so if that doesn't work I have heard that organic apple cider vinegar "with mother" gets rid of UTI's , and some say drinking lemon water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach will get rid of UTI's.. these last two suggestions I have not tried yet but a lot of people seem to have good results supposedly.. I hope that this has helped you.... please let me know if this works for you or if you try this.Whatever you choose though I wish you good health and good luck. :-)

It may be that you have a infection in the UTI or bladder that is a biofilm infection. like staph... I am right now excluding all sugar, carbohydrates and sweet fruits. I am taking raw Garlic, watermelon, baking soda and also doing regular acupuncture and quit smoking and drinking. I think the body can heal it with a little help. Just got to make an environment that isn't helping the infection survive and introduce things that help to kill the infection. I am told it may take up to 3 months because its a long time i've had this infection. Thats what i'm doing hope it helps. After almost 3 years this is the best plan i got an i'm confident about it!

Maybe try a probiotic when this happens, I think the good bacteria getting killed off has something to do with this.

@@Vahe345 did you get rid of staph? I have a great clean diet, I'm fit, was diagnosed with ic 5 years ago, then came kidney disease and infection struvite stones. Finally got a culture and found staph. I'm hesitant with baking soda now because the problem is alkaline urine, I used baking soda a lot over the 5 years before I knew this. Have been using monolaurin, oregano oil, NAC, sweet wormwood, garlic, probiotics, and I practically lived on watermelon all summer. Finally took Levaquin, only 3 days x 250. I had a horrible reaction and still dealing with nerve issues a month later. Did get rid of some of the infection but I still have it. 5 year staph infection is going to take some work. I fast 3-5 days a month and drink tons of water. I am a very healthy person.

Ya I got rid of the staph. I came to Armenia and used bacteriophages against stapholococcus and i got rid of an infection in my mouth. There may be a bit more staph in my sinuses I'm not sure but i am going to do a sinus surgery soon and take more bacteriophages to be sure. I'm seriously considering doing a FMT treatment if I find a good donor out here and/or homeopathy.

Awaken VIBING, that’s a sign of painful bladder syndrome, it’s a disease that can’t be cured. If you have problems with the bladder for a long time, it’s no longer a bladder infection but a permanent bladder damage.

      Bifidobacterium longum

I'm sorry to hear that. A normal urinalysis and having voiding symptoms can be due to many things and this just isn't enough information to give you a full answer. Overactive bladder, painful bladder syndrome and dysfunctional voiding all come to mind here. You should see a urologist to discuss your symptoms.

If UTI goes untreated and gets worse, it can cause kidney failure. "Nature take it's course" can lead to major organ failure if it really was a UTI. Other things mimic UTIs.
Sounds like you were just dehydrated, unless you had conclusive UTI test.
