There are two treatments to UTI aside from taking d-mannose,UVA-ursi, marshmallow rootfrequently(which it didn't cure my condition, it just maintains it)
      1) high dose introvenous vitamin C(IVC 75grams at a 1gm/min infusion rate), I did that frequently more than recommended frequency, I did 3 days in a row with single day rests(3days, 1day rest, 3day, 1 day rest,...)
      2) vaccines, I haven't tried this one yet, called FimCH, ExPEC4V
      3)antibiotics are not a cure

Pelvic Empowerment hi Tory, just wanted to let you know I finally beat the dread chronic UTI I had for the last two years. Turns out I was resistant to macrobid, then tried cipro and did not do the trick either. So I started doing ginger and turmeric shots twice a day, plus the d-mannose, probiotics and enzymes to help me digest food as well. Aldo a clean diet as much as I could. It took a while but I did this religiously everyday up until a few days go. Still doing d-mannose once a day, probiotics and enzymes. Will give ginger shots a break for about to weeks and then start again.

There is one more thing to consider that my doctor did help with. I got an ultrasound and had a small kidney stone that made the passage in my urethra very small. So I had a procedure where they zapped it and broke it into tiny pieces. That also helped a lot.

BTW I am a male and have no idea how I got my infection, never had a UTI in my life, then one day I am in sepsis, still battling the infection, antibiotics work fine, but as soon as I am off, it comes back done 3 cycles of Antibiotics, so not taking them again, using all the natural treatments I can, I seem to have it under control, but still have it.
D-mannose latest research says it does not have any benefit, that was in a double blind trial, I am still going to take it, i still think it has potential specially if you combine it with a extremely low carb diet.

I’ve been dealing with chronic UTI’s for almost three years now. I can’t even count how many doctors visits, specialists ive seen and antibiotics I’ve been put on. Each time a UTI would occur, the feeling of depression and hopelessness would come over me. It caused me to miss work and lose my overall quality of life. After consistently taking D Mannose in pill form I was UTI free for about 7 months which was unheard of for me. Unfortunately I am experiencing a flare up right now and am so upset due to the success I was having. Seeing this video about the powder immediately had me purchase it online. This is the first video I’ve come across that I’ve truly identified with and mirrors what I’m going through. Thank you for bringing a little peace of mind to my day 😭

I found another video from a Functional Med Dr and he said to take 1 tsp D Mannose for an acute infection every 2 hrs the first day, every 3 hrs the second day, and every 4 hrs the third day. I tried it after not having a uti for 25 years and just recently got one and it worked super well. Hi Tori, I know I've told you this before....but you saved my life with D-Mannose. Just wanted to thank you again. I was in a world of hurt until my DMannose arrived by Amazon. I don't say this lightly Tori. I am a cancer survivor, SLE disabled me 20 yrs ago and lifelong Crohn's, lifelong! So at 60 I've lived on steroids more than not. My bladder irregular shape doesn't drain completetly and I get a UTI everytime I catheterize....ugh I QUIT doing that and drink more water and take DMannose daily. I would rather die than self-catheterize so THANK YOU. I was going out of my mind iving on antibiotics and having it raise hell with my Crohn's..... You are an angel. Be sure to use 100% cranberry with no sugar added. You can also add a Tbsp. Of apple cider vinegar with a mother because it is a powerful antimicrobial to fight fungus and bacterial infections. Refrain from bathing and shower instead. Avoid baths because it can be an irritant due to the soap in the bath water. Just wash the area with plain water.

In the last 4 months, I've been taking more than 7 rounds of antibiotics due to UTI. And it messed my gut microbiome, I often had constipation in some days, food allergies, etc. What I noticed was that my UTI always comes back when I consume high oxalates food, even though I took d-Mannose, oregano oil... And when I had an USG, even though it showed that I didn't have kidney stones, doctor found that I had a lot of crystals in my bladder. I thought the UTI and crystals was not related but it turns out that it was.
One of the comment in this video mentioned a book titled "Toxic Superfoods" by Sally K. Norton and it's really eye-opening. I will change my diet starting from tomorrow ro low oxalate diet and I hope that this UTI will not come back anymore.

I had a UTI since May 2024. Usually I had a few bladder infections a year (3-5), but none of them were as bad as this was. I had to try 4 different antibiotics, the last one I had to take preventatively for 3 months. I had a new partner since March, but the problems only started in May, as I mentioned before. I thought about anything that could have caused this, and the worst idea is that it is because of my new partner. We quickly became a couple in June, and even didn‘t have Sex for a whole month because it just hurt so much. My pee was bloody and my lower stomach would cramp up so much I coulnd‘t even stand up. This time was the worst of my whole life. Apparently the third antibiotic worked but my doctor still advised me to take the 3-month antibiotic to prevent further UTIs.
I was so scared that it was my boyfriend, as my doctor said it is 100% his fault. He even told me to get back on the pill. I didn‘t know what to do, because everyone on the Internet was also saying it was my boyfriend and that he‘s not the right one for me as my body is „showing me“ by the UTIs that he is not good for me.
Since watching the video I have a good feeling about everything, I even cried because you talked about your fiancé and how he is not the reason for your UTIs.
I‘m taking probiotics and the „Now“ D-Mannose. The UTI is gone but I still have a tingling sensation whenever I pee. It‘s not the feeling of a bladder infection but rather my bladder kind of stinging, if that makes sense. This has been going on since forever and I‘m really clueless. I haven‘t had Sex for 6 months, as I‘m doing my semester abroad now and soon, my partner and I will meet again and obviously it will come to Sex more often. Which is why I‘m scared that the bladder infection will come back.
I really don‘t know what to do and I‘m kind of hopeless.
If you read until this part, thank you so much for listening to my story and I‘m accepting any kind of advice!

Hi, fellow Physio (in Training) here :) I have also suffered from chronic UTIs for the past 15 years. My hypothesis is that I used to get so many antibiotics when I was a kid and even also as an adult. I think my microbioma is not ideal. Also I think biofilm has got something to do with it. It often feels like it is something systemic, I also get UTIs easier when I drink white wine and/or beer, for example. The hypothesis about anatomy sounds plausible, but tbh 1 or 2 cm don't really make a big difference is what I think. I think it is more important what kinds of bacteria etc. are being transportet from the back to the front. Also, the lymphatic system kind of connects colon, vagina and urethra. For me personally, I still get UTIs even if I take a shower after sex, and tbh I have never not wiped from the front to the back. Still, I get UTIs. In my case I really believe it is a systemic thing and something with the microbioma is off.You also mentioned that you had to use probiotics and in your other video you said, that is a whole different story - I wonder why? I mean these things are so closely connected. I am going to do a colon cleanse again, as last time I didn't have UTIs for a few months after. Thank you for making these videos, it really helps to know that others also have the same problem.

I've been struggling with chronic UTI's for 20 years now and I think I've tried everything including D-mannose .The problem with the recurrent UTI is the biofilm that the bacteria is forming into the bladder and this is how the bacteria protects itself and becomes antibiotic resistant.I managed to put this under control for 4 years using oregano oil( which is natural antibiotic). In order to destroy the biofilm I would suggest using some natural biofilm destroyers such as garlic, turmeric, tea tree oil etc along with taking oregano oil and D mannose. Since I'm not a doctor please consult your urologists before taking any further actions.Good luck everyone!

      A few things to share:
      1. I highly recommend the d-mannose powder over the pills, not only for trying to treat an acute UTI, but also for preventative doses
      2. I do think it is possible to cure an acute UTI (if it caused by E. coli) with d-mannose, so long as you catch it early!
      3. As far as pain management goes, I really like pyridium -- it is over the counter, and it numbs the bladder (but it will make you urinate bright orange!). I've used pyridium to manage the pain while treating an acute UTI with d-mannose!

Thank you so much for the request -- I just added it to my list and would love to make that video!
Until then, have you ruled in/out your pelvic floor? If you think of your pelvic floor like any other muscle, you can imagine that when there is a threat, it tightens up. Kind of like if you were going to be punched in the stomach -- your abdomen might tighten to protect you. The same is true of your pelvic floor when you have a bladder infection, the bladder lives right on top of the pelvic floor and it will sometimes tighten up to protect you.
When someone has chronic infections, sometimes the pelvic floor will forget to let go even after an infection has resolved and it can FEEL like a UTI. I've treated a number of women for this exact presentation in clinic!

If you're at all concerned and feel you may have started taking the d-mannose "too late," I can only encourage you to check-in with a provider you trust to see if it may be time to start taking antibiotics! I've had experiences where I caught the UTI early enough and was able to treat it with d-mannose, and experiences where I caught the infection "too late" and, while the d-mannose did decrease my symptoms, I ended up needing antibiotics in order to clear it fully. I wish I could be more helpful, and I hope that you get to feeling better soon ❤️

I refer to your videos often since I also suffer from recurrent UTIs & I have my D-mannose as you’ve recommended :) I was wondering if you experienced any negative side effects (leaky gut, arthritis, etc) from all of the antibiotics you previously used to cure the UTIs & what you did to overcome them. I had several back to back UTI's for over a year. Prior to that I had been suffering for a long time with "almost" UTI's--testing showed no bacteria present. I finally went to a Functional Med Dr and she had me take a very expensive urine culture ($275) every time I got one to identify the exact bacteria. Each time I was put on a different antibiotic. The result was that my gut got totally destroyed even though I was taking probiotics. Interesting that a very expensive Dr who's supposed to be knowledgeable in natural healing didn't recommend this.
I found out just like this gal did that D Mannose was the answer, but I must EMPHASIZE that I clearly wasn't drinking enough water, so I increased my intake exponentially. I thought I was drinking enough- about 8 10oz glasses, but in reality I wasn't. I'm now drinking 10-11 10 oz glasses a day (very intentially) and when I get UTI symptoms it's usually bc I've slacked off on drinking enough. I recently got another one and I'm back on the D Mannose along with an herbal tincture. Once this one clears up I'm going to do the maintenance that is recommended in this very good video.

I would like to give my experience with uti's, now first of all I am a guy, so uti's or less frequent, in some respects more serious with guys... I had issues with very small kidney stones which I suspect led to my uti, in which I discovered at my local Hospital after I was having trouble urinating and was promptly given antibiotics... By the third day after every dose I felt like I was going to pass out, went back to the hospital and they said it was all "in my head". I knew there had to be another way and I discovered D-Mannose. But I take the pills instead for a couple of reasons, one I find that if I am not careful how I store the powder it will get hard and un-useable, two- it makes it easier for me to dose out, I break open 3 capsules (1.5 grams) and pour it into at least 8 ounces of water, once a day, seems to work well for me... By the way I use the Now Brand...Men sometimes has to deal with this too...

I've found that D-mannose may be helping to prevent UTIs for me, however I quickly discovered that once I already had a UTI, the only thing that cured it was the antibiotics. I tried to follow recommended doses of d mannose but was still miserable! I also tried the pills though so maybe next time I'll try out the powder.

Awesome video!!! Love it! If you were to go on a mini getaway for 3 days or so and you know that you will be doing the beach/running/risky behavior type of things all day..would you suggest taking the maximum amount of servings in powder form which would be 2 servings each day or would you suggest more? Do you have to space out when you take the servings? For example: wake up take a serving, go to beach, then maybe go hiking and maybe go dancing later. So all day would be considered risky stuff when you’re away!

    • @PelvicEmpowerment
      @PelvicEmpowerment  4 года назад +1

When I partake in all-day risky behavior, I usually take the d-mannose after each activity is over. So I would wake up, take my morning dose, go to the beach/hang out in my bikini, take a second dose, and then go hiking/exercise, take a third dose, and then go dancing in tight clothing and probably take a fourth dose after that. That being said, I'm not sensitive to d-mannose, and I don't often take more than two doses/day, so having a couple of days here and there that are outside of my typical routine doesn't worry me.
That being said, I can't give individualized medical advice! If you aren't sure how much you should be taking and are not comfortable running a sort of trial-and-error experiment with yourself, I can only recommend seeking input from a healthcare provider you trust ❤️
      Enjoy your mini-vacation 🤗

Maybe I need to drink more? and just lately I’ve included antibiotics into that mix because it appears that the demonose isn’t working? And I’m still getting up to pee every hour and half to four hours.(if I’m lucky) and even with the antibiotic which is nitrofurantoin mono-mcr 100mg once a day. I’ve been on it four days and nothing has changed. I’m hoping it will start to give me some relief in the next day or so? I’ve been to my doc did a urinalysis which I got back in two days and it said I had an infection. I really don’t like to take antibiotics so you know I’m not doing great that is way it made me give into start taking them:( I’m just not getting very much sleep. I’m not drinking alcohol or coffee, also I’ve heard a urinalysis should take about a week to get results back to know if you have UTI. Am I just being impatient? Hi Tori, thank you so much for these super helpful video. I was in the hospital once for 2 weeks because of UTI. And now after 6 months i just got it again. Im on antibiotic prescribed by doctor and is still super worried that it will come back after this treatment. I really hope that after this batch of antibiotic dmannose will help me with UTI. But i have a few questions regarding the usage of dmannose.
    1. Does it affect if I use it while using: birth control pill or any other supplements?
    2. Do we have to take this religiously for the rest of our life to prevent UTI? If yes, does it have any other side effect since this is a type of sugar?
    3. Does it help with BV as well since i read there are some claims about it helps with BV and i’m having BV and is planning to use boric acid suppositories to cure it.
Thank you so much again for such a useful video

I am so, so sorry to hear about you having to go to the hospital due to a UTI. I'm really glad that you caught this most recent one early, and that you're getting the appropriate treatment. I hope that d-mannose will help you after this round of antibiotics, too, but remember that d-mannose is only effective if the bacteria causing your infections is E. coli!
      As for your questions:
      1. I cannot point to any literature, but I can share my personal experience. I've used d-mannose while on and off of hormonal birth control, and have not noticed any change in efficacy of my birth control or my natural fertility.
      2. I've been taking it every day for 3-4 years now I think. I'm not sure if I'll be taking it for the rest of my life, but my alternative was taking antibiotics for the rest of my life, it seemed. As far as side-effects, I have not personally experienced any. But that doesn't mean they don't exist. Every person's body is different, and I know just from reading my comments that d-mannose has given other people headaches, or made them feel light-headed.
      3. Fascinating! I haven't heard that it's helpful with BV, and I have not personally used it to treat/prevent BV. I am a big fan of boric acid suppositories, though! If you'd like to learn more about boric acid, you can check out this video: ruclips.net/video/uzfAgvGY7Z0/видео.html

Some people can be insanely ignorant. UTI’s are not necessarily linked to hygiene. Chronic UTI’s are typically caused by a biofilm that tends to create a coating, making it hard to cure because the biofilm allows the bacteria causing the infection to hide, thus allowing for the infection to return. 😊

Today is 2-17-2024. I am going to tell everyone the method I use for UTI. Not an E-Coli UTI. Just a regular UTI. I Hope this helps someone. Go to the grocery store and buy a bunch of fresh parsley. It is sold in “ bunches “. At home rinse the parsley off and put all of it…..stems and all…….into a blender filled with water. Grind it up. Then, pour the green water into a container and throw the ground up parsley remainder away. Keep in your refrigerator and 4 times a day……FOR ONE WEEK ( even if you start feeling fine, do not stop ) drink a cup of the parsley water. Drink it cold, hot, or put some sweetener in…….anything to help you tolerate it. This OUGHT to clear up the majority of UTI’s. It always has mine. Now, as a maintenance, do this maybe twice a year. Typically, I just gulp it down cold in a coffee type mug. Try it, and if you have success, you will learn to buy SEVERAL bunches of parsley at the time. Would REALLY REALLY appreciate hearing back from anyone on this. I started doing this around 40 years ago, and it worked UNTIL I got E-Coli and then I had to be treated. That one is a yucky experience !

      @@TheGaranceable Yes, fingers-crossed 🤞
I have had two UTIs since taking the powder preventatively -- but both of them happened in January of this year, in Asia, on my honeymoon, when I didn't pack enough d-mannose for the entirety of the trip! I essentially hadn't gotten a UTI in 2.5-3 years since using the powder, packed enough d-mannose for my life not in Asia for the length of the trip (3 months), realized I hadn't packed enough for life in Asia (very wet climate, a lot more exposure to "risky behaviors" there), and tried to half my doses to make the amount of powder I had brought last the whole time. Promptly got two UTIs in a row... so I do think if I had been taking d-mannose the "right" way for my body I would've prevented those. Otherwise, UTI-free since using the powder!
As for your second question, my symptoms went away quickly (within a day), but I continued to use the powder through the lens of treating an infection for 5 days total 😊

Hello to everyone. I also have uti for about 4 years. but my disease has been asymptomatic for a very long time. I don't have pain or other symptoms, but e coli bacteria are found every time in my urine test. Anyone else experiencing this situation? I'm waiting for your help.

I'm so sorry to learn that, even though you're asymptomatic (thank goodness!), your tests results show e. coli every time. That must be frustrating. I really hope that someone else who has had a similar experience finds your comment and can help you.
