I can not say enough good things about D-Mannose! I first discovered it a while back when I didn't have health insurance and developed a really bad UTI. I was in so much pain but couldn't afford a trip to the doctor. I began researching home remedies for UTI and tried everything I had in my kitchen but nothing helped in a noticeable way. Then I saw D-Mannose so I ordered it next day shipping on amazon. I'm not exaggerating when I say it felt like a miracle! The first time I used the restroom after the first dose I already felt relief from the pain. After only a few days I felt symptom free. Now I take it anytime I feel the slightest bit of a UTI symptom and it clears up right away. I don't understand why more doctors don't recommend this and why so few people have even heard of it. I will never take antibiotics again for a UTI. Antibiotics can have so many terrible side effects, not to mention causing antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria. I am not a doctor, but I will always recommend D-Mannose over antibiotics any time someone asks me.
I’ve tried a few different ones and they all seemed to work well. The one I have been using lately is by naturebell and it’s 2,000 mg D-Mannose with cranberry concentrate
I'll get back to you on this. I started it yesterday for uti. I'm taking a tsp every 2 hours and tomorrow will move to every 3 hours. The following day I'll take it every 4 hours and continue every 4 hours until it's hopefully cleared up. Someone will have to like this though because I'll totally forget to come back to report the outcome. 😂
The problem with their study was they weren’t having the women use the dmannose properly. You need to take a serving mixed with a small amount of water like 3 ounces around times of intimacy before and after and flush the bladder by drinking 2 cups of water 30-60 minutes later, and it should be taken in a few ounces of water nightly. Additionally, I read the study and I didnt see where any of the women with ruti received a positive or negative culture? Furthermore, what if some of these women were experiencing some cystitis from common irritants. When you get ruti your bladder lining is more susceptible to irritants and bacteria, so you have to be extra careful with what you eat and drink.there could be a little bit of both ruti happening or even IC or non bacterial caused cystitis. I stand by dmannose, and I highly recommend desert harvest aloe Vera to assist with IC, or lingering cystitis if you’re a ruti sufferer.
I started taking D-mannose right before I saw a urogynecologist about my *very* frequent and recurrent suspected UTIs. I was having symptomatic episodes (sex seemed to be a major trigger - and peeing after did not work for me) that usually did not last more than 12 hours. At the peak of my worst symptomatic episodes, which usually came about once a month on average, I would be writhing in pain. By the time my appointment with the urogynecologist happened, I was about two years into these episodes and one week into taking D-mannose. To my surprise, the doctor echoed the blogs I read that I should take D-mannose (This was before this study was published). She said since its protective benefits wear off over the course of the day, she recommended I take it twice a day. It took me some time to troubleshoot, but now I know that to optimally to prevent symptoms, I should take one 500 mg pill in the morning and one at night. This really seems to work for me. I only relapse into symptoms when I forget to take my D-mannose. When I've taken 2000 mg, I think it might be too much for my body because my bladder feels inflamed, ironically. I think there's a sweet spot - maybe it's possible the patients in the study were taking too much at once and experiencing inflammation, or maybe they weren't having consistent coverage throughout the day? I'm only speculating here, but thank you so much for posting this! I had no idea about this study, but it's very interesting to me considering this personal success story. And I appreciate that you didn't stop mentioning it to patients - whatever works, as long as it doesn't cause harm, right?
I have a superpubic catheter for the last 5 years. I just got a UTI after 2 1/2 years free from UTS's. During that 2 1/2 years I was using D-Mannose 500 mg every day. For some reason I stopped using it and I got a UTI. I was treated for it for 7 days. It seemed to work but after a week went by I started to get another UTI. I doubled the D-Mannose to 1000 and it started clearing up within 12 hours. I will continue using it daily for life no matter what the study shows.
Who paid for the study? What was the dose per body weight? Did they try higher doses? Who were the study subjects? What dose had you previously prescribed?
You don’t have to order dmannose online. They sell the capsules at Walmart. I put the powder in my tea or water. It’s sugar, it taste really good. D mannose is great for preventing and curing UTI’s
I wonder if the dosage was less than needed. I have symptoms of a UTI as of yesterday after a PET scan and thought it might be a residual effect, but was still drinking lots of water to flush the contrast for my body. Late last night I started drinking cranberry juice and taking cranberry capsules and pulled my DMannose out, as well. Haven’t taken it yet. I had bought the d-mannose for my husband last year. I’ve only had about four or five UTIs in my life and I’m 70. I plan on never having another.
I started taking D-Mannose regularly for prevention and even treatment 8 years or more ago. I will get maybe one UTI a year(actually have one now and going to Dr. to still get it checked out in the a.m.) I take it 1000 mg a day and right after sex. If I have a UTI I will take 1000 my twice a day, It has helped me so much, but I am perimenopausal now, so my ph is all screwy. I drink about 60, to some days 100oz of water a day.
Agree. I use D mannose and it works. It really helps me I take one in the morning then I take a crand berry pill in the evening an another D mannose at night before bed and it's helping a lot with drinking water throughout the day an urinate when ever I feel the need to go.
I have found that a combo with D-mannose like Urinari-X by Life Seasons Therapeutics works WONDERS!! I will say it has OREGANO and UVA URSI in it. And I know for a fact that oregano works because I have a friend who does essential oils and she made her own capsule. And within a day she felt like a new woman! How do you help women (peri/meno) with vaginal atrophy manage the recurring UTI?
Never heard of D-Mannose till now, but it's cranberry mixed with dandelion, that's diluting the power of the cranberry... I had a couple UTIs way back and pure cranberry extract tablets cleared it up for me both times within a week, and I never had symptoms after that.
@@downthereurology I could've sworn that's what it says on the label. But, regardless, are cranberry extract tablets effective with treating UTIs or am I one of the lucky ones?

That’s not true I was on 4 rounds for antibiotics for uti last one was black label, nothing worked until I started to do research, immediately after taking Dmanose cured everything
Same here.... D mannose does work,A real life changer. I take one first thing in the morning.Mid day I take a cranberry pills, then at night I take another D mannose. Drinking enough water throughout the day really helps an pee when you need to.
You could actually have Interstitial cystitis (IC)/bladder pain syndrome (BPS). This condition usually identical to having a UTI but antibiotics or other natural remedies will not have an effect on it. I was diagnosed with this last year
@@jasminejiles1061 I found baking soda worked for me in water holding my nose to drink it. Antibiotics did not help nor did the suggestion to drink cranbberry juice. It was sweeteed and caused more acidity and pain.

Yes, my comment is true. I read the title of this video and I actually thought is read, "D-Mayonnaise" at first; and, I thought that's a very messy way to stop a UTI. Well, maybe that does work somehow.
I had bladder cancer 14 years ago, and yes, I get them quite often. However, I no longer have a normal system or bladder for that matter. I have a neo-bladder made from my own intestine.
I never suffered from any UTI, and I am healthy in every sense, no heart problems, cholesterol, no high blood sugar etc. So I went on a road trip with the wife, drove up the coast to to the North East to observe the total eclipse. on on the last day of my journey when I was driving back home, I noticed burning and smelly urine. I figured it was my extremely poor diet of junk food, and tons of coffee to keep me awake, I was doing 15-16 hour drives each day. When I got home, I got extremely sick, shaking. sweating, chills, dizziness and nausea, I figured I hade food poisoning. it was so bad I felt I was going sepsis. so rested and hoped it would clear out, I have had food poisoning other times in my life, seems it wasn't food poisoning or at least not in the commons sense, I got a UTI, but I think it made it to my kidneys, as they were sore. After a couple days symptoms did not get better, I was drinking a lot of water, cranberry juice, and the vinegar, etc. but I was sleepy, and the burning urine and smell was still there, I got a hold of the urine test "pearls" my Leukocytes were through the roof, I had some nitrates, and trace blood, everything indicated a UTI, I got some Antibiotics, and boom 12 hours later everything cleared up, I was just about normal, I stayed the full course, 7 days, but 48 hours after the last pill all symptoms came back. so after a week with continued effort of trying to do things naturally, I got back on the same antibiotics, again almost immediately I was back to normal, within 12 hours, as you can guess, after running the full course, 24 hours after the last pill, all symptoms came back full blast. I went to get blood tests, and culture urine test to find out what kind of infection I have, results were, e-coli. so I got a different type of Antibiotic, but the same thing happened than the others, once off the antibiotics Symptoms came back. so here I am, I have been taking everything natural that supposedly works, lowering sugar intake, drinking lots of water, pure cranberry juice, astragalus, garlic (both black garlic and oil) kidney pills with all those herbs, even chanca piedra (stone breaker). mushroom coffee replaced my regular coffee, and different fiber types/prebiotics. all this together seems to help, symptoms are tolerable and not as bad as before not getting worse, but not going away.

Try baking soda in water while holding your nose to avoid the taste. UTi bacteria does not like alkaline environments.
