Nikon DSLR is a better camera with better quality worth looking at D5300 don't just go and buy a canon because casey uses and recommends it do some research

It's fun! :D I've always been interested in making travel documentation, I made a couple of them in the past while I was on holiday a trips, without knowing that it was actually vlogging :P I discovered Casey about a year ago and after watching some of his stuff I was like, wait, I want my videos to be as good as his too! Few months later I was pretty much addicted to his videos and after making several travel vlog to learn the filming and editing process of this kind of vlog that I like, I started my own vlog series! Well, it's a weekly vlog. I don't think I can handle working on daily vlog yet for now. But yea, it's still a lot better than my previous RUclips creating cycle which usually only resulted in 1 video / month. The last one month I made 5 videos, 4 of them are the vlogs. Well, the views are still shit, but yea, I feel so accomplished as a creator XD

CaseyNeistat You might want to consider using an a6000 in the future, though it may not be the best vlogging camera since it doesn't have a 180 screen, but it does have a ridiculous amount of auto focus points, and its quick but stable. Also it's smaller so it might be easier to lug around.
This is 2020. We are bang in the middle of a pandemic. The world was partial lockdown prior to this and we are slowing unlocking the world cautiously. And when we are going back shortly, we almost need to remind ourselves of the vibrancy of the daily chores of our lives through Casey's videos. Casey what an amazing job man.

FCPX is a train wreck. The learning curve for Premiere Pro isn't that bad. Since you already know most of the tools of editing, all you have to do is learn where they're placed in Premiere.
TheCameraHatesMe I have to admit FCPx was a train wreck when it came out, but it's improved a ton and I think it is really good now. And at $299, it's more affordable to more people. Most people won't run into limitations with it. Just my 2 cents. Then again, maybe I'm just another glazed-eye Apple fan boy and don't know it.
Lariscape I used Sony Vegas for about 5 years and it's taught me everything I know. It's a fantastic program but it got to a point for me where it was too limited so I upgraded to premiere. I 100% support starting out with Vegas

I disagree with Casey's statement that Final Cut Pro X is a "train wreck". I'm guessing he just didn't take the time to learn the good things about it.
***** Final cut pro is a great app and very easy and simple to use but it lacks a lot of features and abilities that an app like Premier Pro has. and yes I have tried and tested both extensively. I do however use Final Cut just because I can edit videos faster with it
***** I use both Premiere Pro and FCP X. I've been using FCP X for 2+ years and just started using Premiere in May. I complained hardcore about Premiere at first, but after actually learning how to use it, I have to say it's gear much more towards prosumers. I can edit *much* faster in FCP X, but I also run the risk of something going wrong when I close out of it and not being able to access my library (which has happened countless times over the years), and having to fight for an hour or so to remember exactly how to recover a corrupted library file. With Premiere I'm a little slower (and getting faster every day), it's less resource-intensive on my computer until rendering, but I can do more with less effort than I can with FCP X. It's a pretty fair trade-off.

Just reading through the comments and I always find it interesting how people relate things such as gear to becoming a successful vlogger. It never is and never has been about the gear. It's about your ability to tell an interesting story. I'm still working the interesting story aspect myself but for reference the gear I do all my vlogging on is whatever phone I am using at the time.
Casey Neistat is a master. I'd say he actually developed what we now know as vlogging. Wish he would come out with full length feature film like he used to.

What is the one mistake most filmmakers make, regardless of experience?
I disagree with Casey's statement that Final Cut Pro X is a "train wreck". I'm guessing he just didn't take the time to learn the good things about it.

***** Final cut pro is a great app and very easy and simple to use but it lacks a lot of features and abilities that an app like Premier Pro has. and yes I have tried and tested both extensively. I do however use Final Cut just because I can edit videos faster with it

***** I use both Premiere Pro and FCP X. I've been using FCP X for 2+ years and just started using Premiere in May. I complained hardcore about Premiere at first, but after actually learning how to use it, I have to say it's gear much more towards prosumers. I can edit *much* faster in FCP X, but I also run the risk of something going wrong when I close out of it and not being able to access my library (which has happened countless times over the years), and having to fight for an hour or so to remember exactly how to recover a corrupted library file. With Premiere I'm a little slower (and getting faster every day), it's less resource-intensive on my computer until rendering, but I can do more with less effort than I can with FCP X.
It's a pretty fair trade-off.

I've only done a few vlogs in public with my best friend and It's not as awkward when you are with a friend....But I am going to try to vlog in public solo for the first time in the next few days and it's gunna be nerve racking o_O

Just reading through the comments and I always find it interesting how people relate things such as gear to becoming a successful vlogger. It never is and never has been about the gear. It's about your ability to tell an interesting story. I'm still working the interesting story aspect myself but for reference the gear I do all my vlogging on is whatever phone I am using at the time.

When i grow... let's say 100k sub I will make a vlog channel, I used to do vlogging on my main channel but quit cuz I wanted to make my main channel to focus on beauty and fashion
