My job really just brings out the worst in me, I generally consider myself a very kind positive person but whenever I know I have to go into work I develop a mean streak, I snap at everyone I love, and Im just not a good person to be around. I hate that I feel like I have no control over my emotions or motivation when im at this job. The real killer is I get so bummed out over it I dont even feel like building my business and singing career up so that I can finally leave, then I beat myself up because im not working on my business/singing career. Its just a cycle of constant stress and anxiety.

Make a plan and divide it into small actionable tasks. Start small. Don't beat yourself up. Hang in there. ♥️

Watching this on a Sunday night to calm down because of Monday anxiety. My job requires me to constantly work under pressure with a lot of people and it’s difficult to catch a break or focus on one thing at a time. It’s so busy I struggle to keep up lately. My Co-workers are great it’s the job that’s the issue. I’ll certainly try to change my attitude this week.

I hate my waiter job because, i quote “Can’t fold up my sleeves”.
I know dress code is a thing but even after a time when the restaurant is not even busy and the area is hot I still can’t fold up my sleeves.
It may not look like a big issue to others but to me it translates that I’m not free enough to fold my sleeves, and I love freedom.

Basically I am not having a good time at my job, my supervisor is being really unprofessional and getting annoyed with me and talking about me behind my back, she is also bad mouthing other staff members :( including my friend who works with me. She is a very negative person and takes things out on me a lot. Last Friday I was in tears as I found a memory card on the floor so I gave it to the other supervisor not knowing who’s it was and it got given to the manager and it had personal photos of that unprofessional supervisor and she blamed me for it when it wasn’t my fault

    • @thejoyrandolphshow
      @thejoyrandolphshow  4 года назад +6

      Hi Emily,
Thanks so much for sharing your story. Gosh... that sucks on so many levels. One, your supervisor blamed you for something that wasn't your fault. Two, she's been talking about you behind your back. And three, she's been unprofessional and taking things out on you.
Staying must be really tough. I want you to know that sadly - you're not alone. Workplace bullying is a real thing - though many people don't talk about it. You've inspired me to create a new video on how to deal with toxic people at work.
In the meantime, I'm wishing you so much success with your job search. Stay positive, keep up the good work and you'll find the best next job for you

Thanks for the video. My job is difficult right now because my boss micromanages everything I do, I feel extremely drained at the end of the day and the work doesn’t feel rewarding unfortunately. Thankfully, I work on a rotation so this job is very temporary, but I cannot wait for it to end. I like your tip on finding at least one thing to like about the job every day. I think I can start making a list to focus more on the positives!

I keep telling myself this is temporary. I will do a good job and continue to do a good job elsewhere soon.
The red tape of public school education is so desensitizing, it will make you ask for more red tape for your red tape. I know I am not teaching students in the best way possible because the district pushes curriculum a certain way, which makes me the teacher look bad and incapable in the students' eyes and minds. I cannot take it personally anymore because I won't succumb to a system that controls and creates willful ignorance in the minds of these paycheck-talking "adults." I teach knowing true learning does not end in a school building, it continues long after you graduate.

Thanks for this video as it gave some very useful tips on getting through a tough period. I can't stand my job because it's not defined and changes almost on the daily. It's like someone telling you "make me something you think I'd like". This might be suited for some, but I prefer structure and defined expectations to measure success which this does not. Not to mention it's desk work (spreadsheets, manuals, emails) which is mind numbingly boring to me. Plus, it's pretty much amounts to nothing on being effective on anything. It's a make work position but it pays well. I think the solution (or at least bandaid) is to find a compromise by asking the boss for more structure and definition of expectations and focus on what doing these pointless tasks allows me to do by providing for my kids and having a somewhat decent life outside of the office. But it's a tough price to pay.

  • @ParisianStreets

  • @sarahduhay5350

Thanks for your video. The things that I hate about my job is the company culture. They never seem to give you a time to complete one task before they dumped these other tasks on to you and no matter how much I may see I will do their task once I've completed the task that I'm working on, they don't listen. People have actually ended up leaving the company due to the work overload.
They doesn't seem to want to wait. I find them just too pushy and not understanding at all not taking into consideration that I'm not a robot plus salary sucks.
I am also doing a job that I did not want to do in the first place and initially gone to the job interview for another job but was offered this instead because nobody else wanted to do it with the promise that I'll get promoted in the next six months or so I've been in this company for 3 years and so far there has been no promotion even though they have promised and have complimented me on my work.
Then they get new people in when the extra work needs to be done and in spite of the fact that I have the skills to do the extra work and they know this from my CV, I get overlooked so I'm looking to leave coronavirus or no coronavirus.

Reading all the comments I understand m going through something very different than all... so I have been working in the same field for more than 6 yrs now, due to financial issues and always wanting to be independent keept me going in the career which I never liked. It doesn't feel like me, I'm all the time glued to the system, the work environment is pathetic, I have no social life (rn working from home). I got least interest in knowing and updating myself in the same same career. I understand and want to come over all this feeling and work for few more days but I'm not able to, it just feel like I'm putting myself through a torture everyday.

I lost my previous job suddenly when they just didn't need me anymore and now I'm back to being substitute at a daycare. That is the only work available to me so I can pay my rent and get some food on the table. The thing is, I'm not neurotypical. And the daycare work at my country is usually 8h large groups of kids (lots of noises that are really really bad for me) and one 10min break. If you are lucky you might get a lunch break alone, but usually you have to eat with the kids and help them get the food. It's a horrible place to me, causes me so much anxiety and drains me so badly that when I worked there for a year I had to stop bc I burned out so so badly that I couldn't take care of myself. Nightmares about daycare job every night for a half a year after quitting and now they are coming back. I¨m trying to tell myself it's just for two or three days per week, only for summer until school starts, then we can take a loan so I don't have to work in a work that feels like walking to my own death

I hate that I have to call the absolute laziest, least enthusiastic person at my workplace my boss. He doesn't care about anything going on in our office and does a terrible job at the little work he actually does do. Everyone is constantly stuck cleaning up his messes because he just doesn't care, ignores deadlines, and throws things together at the last minute. If we all acted like HIM, none of us would have jobs because we would end up closing. If that wasn't bad enough, he is insufferable and is in love with himself. He really thinks he is great at what he does and is delusional enough to believe his work is better than what the rest of us, not realizing the little he does only looks good because we made it so. He walks around talking down to everyone and makes sexist comments about women's looks all the time. I cannot express strongly enough how much I despise him.

There are many gurus who tell you that you shouldn't hate what you do. But does hating your job actually hurt your other planes in the physical, emotional and spiritual realm? As I told my own subscribers--yes it does. If you despise going to work that is eight hours of your day you are unhappy. Plus the getting up in the morning for it and getting back home is another two hours. Which would mean most of your day, most days of the week, most of your life--you hate doing what you do. This will affect the emotional plane and lead to the midlife crisis earlier than expected. It will drain your energy and then guess what? You stop taking care of your physical plane as well. Then your spiritual plane will fail as you see yourself as just another insignificant cog in the universe. So if that life in the high suburbs is destroying your planes my suggestion is to either laterally change careers or downsize so you can at least be content in what you do---most of your time. Hope this helps someone out there---Charles
