There is something to be said about a job one has a passion for. I’ve been so blessed to have grown up in a family business. My daddy was my boss. Working with siblings, and our friends, it was a blast! My siblings and I are 4th generation in this line of work. Dad recently passed away unexpectedly, but he was prepared.
3 months worth of expenses saved up in an account, besides that he also had an emergency fund, and life insurance! My dad left his legacy in his family. Father of 7 children and grandpa to 1. My dad was only 48. No college, no degree. People hired him. A dependable, hard worker, with the personality of a friend. Dad is in heaven with his LORD and Savior,Jesus Christ. Amen.

NO do not 'stick it out!" get out while the job market is begging for talent. and those 'degrees' that they require is just fluff. I do not have a bachelors degree and every job I have applied for 'required' that degree, yet never said a word about my education when I got the job. Experience is really what they want. You can get a job with experience, and if they ask about education,, you can say you are pursuing it.

A degree isn’t a requirement but maybe get certified in AGILE or SCRUM as a project manager.

It ABSOLUTELY can be yes AND no. Luck counts, but you can’t count on luck.

Oh this man is more than qualified to get the job he wants as a project manager without quitting his nice paying gig and going to school again. I know the “idea” of not working anymore and just doing school is appealing but it’s not realistic or necessary! Go after your dream job now without debt from school and scaring your wife :) feed that family and make yourself happy at the same time! Maybe rework the resume. Military management is project management. He’s got this.

I can predict this one. Find another job then quit your current job.

Take from this video, so you don't need a bachelors degree to get a dream job you want in life. As long you are on the right path, the hiring managers will take risk hiring on some candidates that potential will plan out on the long run.

If you make a lot of $$ yeah stick it out! If you are miserable and make peanuts then forget about it!

10 years in the military is the equivalent to a master's degree. IMO.

They are pretty similar but not in the way you think. College degrees do not provide useful skills for most people and it is a way to avoid the real world and having to provide value in the free market. Pretty much the same thing for the military, just in a different style. Trades, medical, or other hard skills learned in the military would be useful, but that isn’t most people.

Nope. Some folks only need 4 years to be masters quality some can spend a lot longer to be a piece of poo.

I need advice guys right now I hate my job. And I feel bad because I make 21 an hour customer service job for a major bank but I am miserable every second of the day I am working. I did not have a job for several on this and when I got this opportunity I took it because of the pay and I needed a job. But I just can’t be irresponsible and quit my job because I have bills and take care of my father. Just need some advice on what I should do?
