Same thing I went through with my obs. Had a badass kit installed on my 60 and the 1st to 2nd is so quick I almost don’t like it. Every other gear is pretty firm and smoothe but that 1st to 2nd is so firm and fast it almost feels like it bumps the cab.
its because of the really big gap in gear ratio from 1-2 its a 47% drop in gear, higher stalling converter and that sonnax 2.84/1.55 gear ratio helps it alot
Mine does the same thing but it will chirp my 35s going into second I just Granaded mine 4-3 down shift slipped and I stayed on it and bang getting a stage 2 now smh
He’s not boosted why put a 4l80e It’s just gonna rob a lot of power, a built 4l60e handles 400 to the wheel easily. Just saying cuz I had a 4l80e before
Agustin Morales is right. The gearing in a 4l80e will actually make the truck slower. 4l60e has good shifting and unless you’re going full build, it should be sufficient. Perfect daily driver.
@@agustinmorales3496 my trans holding up to more than 400 horses and the same company i got it from also makes a 4l60 they guarantee will hold 1000hp. Never throwing that boat anchor 4l80 in my z71 lol

My built transmission 4l65e from trippe p only lasted 3 months not even beating on it had it behind a 6.0 fully bolt ons cam
