Thank you 337 Speed for taking the time to produce this video. This is why I love RUclips - knowledge transfer from experienced professionals. I recently had my 2018 Corvette Grand Sport cammed with headers, cold air intake, no cat x-pipe, and a mellow exhaust. I love the performance and sound, but I'm not too fond of it when I come to a slow stop or let off of the brake from a complete stop to rolling - my Vette jolts and jerks a lot. It's like trying to get a wild horse to stay still. Is this an unintended consequence of a cam swap?

I have the DOD delete kit, Springs, Push Rods and TSP Stage 2 cam for my '16 Sierra sitting in my garage and have been wracking my brain as to whether I need a higher stall torque converter. I've had a Circle D 3000-3200 stall converter in my shopping cart for the past week but wanted to make sure I actually needed it. Your video made buying an easy choice. Thanks again.

    Yessir sometimes less is more.
The man-child in me wanted an agressive cam and all the trimmings to extract the most from my trailblazer 5 3.
But then the more mature me realized my wife will drive this sometimes and I drive 40 mi to work and to dial it back a little.
BTR tq cam with afm delete, all new vlave train from trays to springs to lifters and longtube headers and I'm happy.
Still chops a little and its been tuned to perfection and I even picked up mpg along with better drivability and I look like a champ to my wife.
That wouldn't have been whaf happened had I went with all the extreme stuff like I used to.
Guess I'm getting older and softer.

Another aspect to think about is what is the purpose of the vehicle? You can build a truck to be as fast as a corvette or even faster. Low end cams are only good for daily’s and grocery getters. A big duration cam can still be handled if built right in a 5.3 of course you can only go so big.
I’ve seen people put 235/240 cams in a 5.3 with a 4000 stall and a shot of nitrous on 3.73 rear end and it’s a nasty setup of course it’s all preference for NA or a boosted setup.

Damn, I want to try out that Little Chopper in my LS6 CTS-V. I have a previous version BTR Stage 4 and PRC 2.5 243 heads that I didn't have milled due to the cam size. I want something smaller with roughly a 110 LSA for more low end torque and be able to mill the heads to gain power everywhere. I'll also do a before and after dyno.

Hey hey, hell yeah bro I have an 08 yukon denali too but the sport version not the XL and a great inexpensive exhaust you should look into is the MBRP installer series I actually had one for your truck and gave it to my nephew and let him cut it up to fit a different vehicle because when I ordered mine they had sent me the XL at first then refunded the money and I was stuck with their exhaust still and they never bothered to send the correct exhaust kit smh so I ended up ordering it elsewhere and it came overnight and cost less but they're super easy to bolt on I did However have mine welded and I do recommend going with the black coated if you live in salt and snow area once I bolted that thing on I was like the last piece to a puzzle that I'd been missing all along lol sounds great and doesn't bother the neighbors too too bad when I remote start at 6am 🤣🤷‍♂️ once I cam spaw it things will be different I'm sure but so far all I've done is the K&N air filter, exhaust and the flashpaq F5 handheld tuner and for a big heavy boat I'm roasting sports cars at the light and she really moves out of her own way!

I thought you explained that well. Could have mentioned Advance. Could have mentioned events. You did mention overlap. I had a '93 RX-7 w/ a '02 LS-1 and M6, long tubes and LS-6 intake. Because of this manifold, I wanted the intake valve to close @ 42abdc. If I had a FAST I could close at 44, if I had a Super Victor - maybe 48 or 50. I wanted a cam with throttle response and street manners. 222/226 112 +1 with lift just under .600" to be easy on the valve tips and that soft camMotion ramp speed.

I've seen on forums where there are countless debates on it, but it seems a little more ppl seem to suggest a stall converter vs gears if on a budget and you can only do one or the other. Or if someone's planning to swap out a rear diff in the not too distant future, but wants to get their junk off the jack stands asap and drive it a bit beforehand. I'd love to see you cover that topic if it's something you'd care to do? Most do say do both if possible, which I think is ideal given the opportunity.

For a basically bone stock truck she scoots and is fun as hell to drive with the 5 speed and the four point great baby LS tucked in there from the GM factory which I believe makes it a rare truck and I do have a folder of all the records and receipts since new 1 owner including thee original window sticker even lol she's a show truck that can still roast a set off and get sideways if I want it too but yes I would like to get a little closer to that 500hp mark just not sure if I want to do anything permanent far as mods or upgrades being in such good condition and low mileage I mean it's still a baby with only 80k miles on a 19yr old 1 owner truck!

Looking at a ss2 GPI cam setup that's .639/.639 lift and 223/235 duration. I'm doing dual springs, pushrods, trunnions, lifters and dod delete. it's a 6th Gen Camaro. Only thing im concered about is if it will be ok with my stock valves and secondly do I need to do any head work or does that not matter?

I’d say get the Lil Chopper and then get a 3k stall and upgrade gears. If you go too heavy on the cam on a 4,8 it’ll be a dog below 4K and you lose to people with less aggressive cams but more gear ratio.

I always said for a ride to run you have to do your homework . Not just because you put a big monster cam it's going to run.. No. Do your homework make a great combination in cams and heads intake and what stall will work with this and that. And check out what gears will work with what you got.. Then oh young grasshopper your ride will run...😀 .lol

I’d go with this 6.0 Stage 2 High Lift www.madhatgarage.com/p/60-truck-camshaft-stage-2--210216-1165
I still retain 18-20MPG highway and doesn’t buck even with stock converter. This one is a little more aggressive so it’ll chop but with a decent 2600RPM stall you’ll be fine. Put 10K miles so far and 0 issues
