I had a really bad spell of fishing trips recently - last 3 outings I lost large river trout each day, barely landed anything in so many hours... I probably need a break for a week or so. Glad you're doing better 😂
Nice1 Chris I really enjoyed this video that canal looks amazing to fish 💯👌🏼 I wish our canal was so productive up here in Edinburgh 🙄 there’s lots of small perch roach & the occasional Jack pike Tight lines pal ✌🏼💙🎣🏴👍🏼
Unreal video again Chris really separating yourself from any other anglers at this stage, yes you are blessed with great rivers around u but still takes the skill
heeey my man!! im form Denmark just caught my pb pike yesterday! 97 cm 14-15 pounds! and much thnaks to you have gotten a lot of really god advice from you!! keep UP FISHING MY MAN!!!
Firstly that canal is a Dream,I’ve caught a few fish in the canals where I live, and I mean a few! But I’ve certainly never seen any because it’s simply not possible, awesome video though, proof that size doesn’t matter 😉
I need a learn to fish series from the ginger fisherman I'm fairly new to fishing and have been watching your videos to learn from as you are good at explaining what u are doing and what u are using and I think a series going through basics and then getting more advanced as it goes along would be amazing and help alot of new anglers out.
Micro lure fishing is all I do these days. Guaranteed multiple fish everytime you go out ! Super cheap to get started in it too ! I used to spend days sometimes trying to get that monster pike or big perch, but on ultra light gear I have a great time fighting small perch! Id recommend it for new anglers as theres a realy low chance you will badly hook a fish, most just come off the hook when you pick them up !
Amazing video and a real eye-opener as to what’s possible. I’m primarily a lure angler and also a fly fisher and have never had such success on a canal. I used to fish the Basingstoke Canal but it was only perch and pike with the occasional roach that seemed to oblige certainly not as prolific in terms of species variety as the canal you were fishing. Must try a different canal!!
Fantastic! I must try this! You always seem to see the fish, but I NEVER see anything...maybe this is why I do not catch much! Great videos, thank you!🤣
A great micro bait is the trout magnet mini magnet, I Believe it's a 1/128oz jig with a soft plastic about the same as you were using in the video. I use them to catch shiners smaller than that bleak here in the US
Seeing the bleak reminded me of free lining single maggots for them when I was growing up, I also caught a 5 and a half pounds carp on a size 22 and single maggot on 12 ounce hook length to 3lb mainline
Amazing video as always Chris love it by any chance would you ever do a fan fishing day as would love some personal pointers and tips on pikeing thanks
Instead of tungsten, You can use smallest lead shots, normally used in float fishing. You can attach them on the line whenever You need: near or far from the hook.
Hey Chris, could you please explain how you unhook these tiny fish? I've had some trouble getting deep hooked 5 inch perch, some of which died which i hate. Thanks!
I'm quite new to lure fishing and don't necessarily understand the intricacies of setup. For example, I accidently bought a 6/0 hook for sea bass fishing with a 12.5cm soft lure and have NO idea if this is stupid... Equally, have no idea about weighting it or anything! Could you maybe do a series of short educational videos on setting up in certain ways for certain species? I can see you've linked the bait, but how exactly is it set up? :)
Hia mate I’m just getting into coarse fishing can you recommend a good little set up to buy which isn’t too expensive and somewhere to fish near to the north wales border ideally around Chester ?
@@elwooddestiny11blues20 probably be using lures around no heavier than 40g as i feel the pike in my local canals aren’t big enough for massive lures i have a 10-40g
What a lucky git having water's full of fish like you do.i live ashford kent and our water is nearly lifeless now..the council don't keep it clean.its literally full of rubbish with odd fish about.shame cos growing up it was full of chub.perch and wild brownies..
I tied, just for fun, a size 32 midge once. Can't tell you if it was any good, I could never find it in my fly box 😂
🤣🤣🤣🎣🐟
Catching that Bream was incredible on such a tiny lure. Definitely shows off your angling skills - Well done!!!
Just purchased this rod after watching your vid. That tip of using tungsten putty is just golden mate! Thanks!🎣
Great vid once again. Always inspirational and makes me want to head out to the river bank. Well done Chris

Same! Been struggling 😔.
Great video Chris. Amazes me what you catch from your local ponds canals and rivers.
Very enjoyable, from a sea angler who loves your channel 😂😂🎣🐟

Well done! Didn't think you could catch Bream on a lure. But you did and on such light tackle too!
Love this sort of video. Simple and effective fishing
I really thought it was an ant lure 😂.. wicked vid an angling as per my man
Ha ha, me too😂

That last Perch was a little stunner
Another nice video Chris. I swear you'd catch a pike out of a puddle 😂

Great vidéo 👏 from France 👍
Consistently great content, really enjoy it pal, thanks 👍🙏
Lovely colour those bream and tench.
That’s such a cool tiny lure
Love your micro lure videos mate. Just shows you can have fun on even tiny streams and ponds with the right gear. Great stuff

Brilliant video Chris super fun fishing with light tactics ❤

I need to start following after you on the bank for all the free landing nets you leave 😂 great video as always!
Awesome fishing! 🔥
Love this video mate, more of similar please mate! 🎣👌
Your a very talented bloke. Well done mate 🎣
Great video , love fishing light but never that light I got to give it a try , just a joy to watch
Incredible that you can catch these type of fishes on a lure, never mind one so small. We'll done.
Seeing the bleak reminded me of free lining single maggots for them when I was growing up, I also caught a 5 and a half pounds carp on a size 22 and single maggot on 12 ounce hook length to 3lb mainline

Inspirational mate, I'm starting back up fishing because of you! Piking this weekend 👌💪
Brilliant 👍 and you know everyone is going to have a crack at this 👌
Amazing what you can catch on a mini micro lure , well done Chris. Haven’t caught a bleak since the late 70s .
Since the 70's? On my local lake and river, there's loads.
Nanolure
Is it just me or there is a new soundtrack, another nice one, Chris!
Instead of tungsten, You can use smallest lead shots, normally used in float fishing. You can attach them on the line whenever You need: near or far from the hook.
Lead free nowadays.Have been for years.Pretty sure it's illegal to sell or use shot containing lead.
@@greggferns3278 Here in Poland is still legal to use lead shots...maybe You have tungsten shots instead of lead shots in UK?
once again a great video, this is the best fishing video channel on youtube.....
Awesome matey well done 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Really enjoyed this one brother hope you and the family are doing well
Chris, if you buy squirmy wormy fly tying material, thats the stuff for your mini lures.
Brilliant, innovative fishing. Your canal looks like lots of fun. Are there any carp in your canal? They would be fun on that rod!
That bream looks just done with life the way it came in
which canal are you fishing on please ..cant believe how big the bleak was ..let alone it was in stillwater ..cheers chris great vids
Another banger! Absolutely love your channel i binge watch all your vids all the time lol
didn't know you could get tench on the lure awesome stuff :D
Молодець!!! гарна риболовля!!!
Great fun!! Have you / anyone tried Flurocarbon mainline? Interested to know how it went...
That is very well done on light tackle, are you interested in tying flys ?
You are simply the best 👌 👊❤️
What a video brilliant as all ways 😊🎉 it’s my birthday tomorrow
HAPPY BIRHDAY
Fair play man!!!!
Hi great video, what’s the net your using ? Thanks
Ever caught an eel on the canal on lures mate? Cracking video again top angling 🎣
same set up with a live maggot would work just as well?
Brilliant vid. Skill ++
Excellent video 😁😎
Well done mate 👍🏻

A disgorger mate, eBay...pennies
Great content super fun video keep um coming
Combi please
What is the set up

@fishingtutorials
Haha there were once loads of bleak when I fished my local. Nothing now.
What about the humble gudgeon? Great vids mate 👍
What's the sleave on your arm for? Can I see more bfs fishing, I've got the bfs baitcaster rod and reel combo, terrified for the dreaded backlash 😂
Я твій фанат !
would love to see you fish Irish canals. I don't not if its my lack of skill or just crap canals
Great video
That first fish is a dead ringer for a salt water species called a Yellow eyed mullet down here in New Zealand.
Definitely baited up that swim with maggots. Bit inauthentic not to mention your tactics ginger
I had a Gudgeon on a 5cm shad out of my local canal the other day 😂👍🏻
They are some very green bream compared to the ones in my local canal
Bro you have very beautiful videos. What a tench!
Just awesome
A change of venue would good mate 👍
would love to see u using pole / match style tactics on your clear canal to catch bream and tench !! tight lines🎣
used to use #10 creek hooks in the 70s..tiny lol but your hook is smaller
use a bit of red rubber band cut up in the next one bro! works for perch
Большое спасибо за такой колоссальный опыт.Который вы нам дарите.Удачи, здоровья,мира ,добра и везения!
Lovely tench green gills orange eyes ..reminds me of your Dom after a night on the lash 😂
Tench are better looking
Hia mate I’m just getting into coarse fishing can you recommend a good little set up to buy which isn’t too expensive and somewhere to fish near to the north wales border ideally around Chester ?
Fly fishing in Colorado you can use size 20-26 flies year round and realistically you can’t go much bigger than that or you’ll spook fish
you could use fluonylon as a lead it can hold a lot of weight for it's diameter
Wish canals around me would be that clear !!! 😢
I thought the ant was the lure😂.
Hi just getting into pike fishing can you recommend a good rod and reel thanks
Abu Garcia
i have the abu garcia black max baitcaster combo but dont know if that would be good for targeting pike
@@twhy2wavy814
depends on where your fishing and what weight lures your using , how deep the venue etc . Give some more info .
@@elwooddestiny11blues20 probably be using lures around no heavier than 40g as i feel the pike in my local canals aren’t big enough for massive lures i have a 10-40g
Hope you catch big fish
This is pretty much how I catch bleak for bait. Got a size 24-28 hook with two knots of sewing thread on it, so I guess it's more of a fly.
What a lucky git having water's full of fish like you do.i live ashford kent and our water is nearly lifeless now..the council don't keep it clean.its literally full of rubbish with odd fish about.shame cos growing up it was full of chub.perch and wild brownies..
It's not the councils fault.
I haven't seen a Bleak for decades.
Is the water really clear in that area or does your camera have a polarised lens?
Cheers
I used to catch loads of bleake in the river Trent but haven't see any for years , nor gudgeon.
This man could probably catch a fish with just a hook .
NY chance of you maybe hooking up with the sb boys for a session on thier stretch?
What main line was you using?
