Hope you guys enjoyed this one. Just thought i'd mention my new rubber mesh full carbon net (fancy i know) just turned up. As well as my replacement single hooks for these baits ready for the next time i target these wild brownies!
You caught very nice fish. I wish they were that size in our waters 💪🏻. Did you ever try barbless single hooks or even only one barbless single at the wobbler tail? Less stress for the fish and less work for you in unhooking 👌🏻😊
Been a carp fisherman for around 20 years but hung up my kit some 10years ago due to work commitments. Decided to come back to the sport but rather than for carp i went spinning for pike instead... Unfortunately there are none to be had in my local canals and rivers so I built another kit for small lures like these for perch. Your videos have been a wealth of knowledge even though you might have been actually teaching anything. Just watching you fishing is a lesson in itself!
Awesome session Chris. I think you had the right lure, right weather and right venue there. A perfect storm for a brilliant day.☺ Those brownies look absolutely stunning with their colours. Well done mate.👍
I think you handle the fish really well and clearly take it very seriously. If you are getting smart ass comments criticising you, they might just be trolls. Keep doing what you’re doing, Chris!
Chris I've been watching your videos since you were singing in bathrooms. I love all of them. But this by far has been the best one. What a top class session. Super fish handling as well. Top notch man.
I used to fly fish a tiny stream like this in Co Durham, I used a 6 foot 4 weight fly rod, catching almost every cast on dry, no false casts, right and left handed casting, spent more time in the trees than on the water! loved the challenge more than anything else, bought the rod for the stream, real back to basics, you vs fish!
Me too back in my youth 12 to 16 I was a member of DVAPAA river Derwent ink works stretch and Rowlands gill to about 9 arches cut my teeth trying to catch those Wiley little trout in areas that were impossible to cast... Great sport great memories
Hey Chris, i enjoy this session too! What a nice trout man, here we can't catch them in the wild, makes me sad cause they're nice wild kind of fish, like them! Till the next vid mate 👍🥇
Some beautiful trout Chris well done pal yeah a rubber net is one of the best things I've bought as it is alot easier to land the fish in the net and not get the hooks hung up most time's anyways ye always get a odd hook that will get stuck but no were near as much as a fabric one best of luck Chris love the videos pal keep them coming 💯👌🔥
In the summer, terrestrials and the Rebel Crickhopper as an imitation would be murder. A floating, lipped grasshopper imitation. Twitch and drift over the target along overgrown banks, BOOM! Surface strikes!
ABSOLUTELY beautiful fish ! You should make your way over here to Alaska! Fall Dolly Varden are really colorful too. Going King salmon fishing tomorrow... live the videos as always, cheers!
In our country in the Czech Republic, we have crushed barbs on trout raviers with hooks and triple hooks, and the fish gets rid of the bait better. Even from the landing net, the lures are better removed.
Well done on making a career out if fishing I've been catching some nice high single finger pike on deadbaits on my local.camal in Scotland having so much fun before the weed destroys the fishing on our canal for bait fishing anyway might take up lure fishing this year
What a prolific session! Brilliant stuff. Where abouts are you in the country Chris? Not looking for specifics obviously! Was going to suggest a rubber net, I got one for my trout fishing and it's been great. Tight lines.
Do they do an XR2 ?? If so does it come with pepper pots ???😂😂👍🏻 just a 90s joke there 😂👍🏻 great video again Chris ....thanks for the superb content as always 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻
I get a great sense of achievement from catching that caliber of trout with my little Shakespear 6foot fly rod and a tiny size 16 dry fly. A totally different experience, different mindset, deep content.
That looks so fun, properly jealous. Wouldnt be able to resist bringing one of the bigger ones home for supper tbh. Crank open a good French Chardonnay and your good to go
you want to do some searchin into BFS mate if you havent done so already thatll be bob on for these trout videos its ultra light baitcasting under 3/4 grams some lures and spinners weighing less than 1g ! its a technique popular in japan that the uk have adapted and made BFS UK Style which ranges 3.5g-8g which is bob on for jacks, perch and chubb but traditionally the Bait Finesse System (Reel and Rod) when paired correctly you can cast very low weights very very far distance with just a flick of your wrist !
Some stunning fish there and I would love to do something like this all the best for your next session I'm counting down the days until then river opens and doing a night or two opening night Hopefully get my first river carp this season aswell
Those ones at the end were awesome…. I highly doubt too many fish in there, too difficult that’s why they hit so easily. There’s likely the odd 5 pounder under a bank in there, but they are picky eaters, hard too catch by day. The biggest browns often come out at night,
Yeah, big mayfly, sedge and especially daddy long-legs hatches will bring the big browns up top. My local reservoir is a sight to behold when the crane flies get blown onto the water.
I've never considered eating anything that I've caught but my sons mate is a bit wild and he gutted and prepared a trout that we caught, fried in a bit of butter it was the nicest fish I've ever had. Didn't taste remotely fishy and it melted in your mouth. Must have been 20 minutes from river to plate
I caught over 100 trout this year and I haven’t touched one. I have seen people say that touching them isn’t ideal. I simply remove the hook in my net and place my net right back into the water to let the fish go. 👍🏼
Nice video. Just wondering, do you cut the third hook from the treble or replace it with a double? I feel a bit guilty using treble hooks and have considered doing the same.
Great bit of fishing! I know trout are in season Chris but the rest aren't - how on earth do you not get perch/ chub taking the lure? Same stretches of predator water being fished. Not accusing you of fishing out of season but genuinely puzzled.
Hi Chris, great video mate, a quick question from a fairly newbie here: why were you annoyed when you sat you rod down and the reel went in the water? did it cause you issues after? did you need to do some sort of maintenance after the session- if so what? OK so that was more than a quick question 😆 just curious, I could maybe see an issue if it was saltwater but I thought fresh water would be ok? I thought it would just be a hazard of the sport and they would be built with this in mind. please excuse my ignorance.
Hi Chris, bought same lure in 4g and ive 2g just bought. I need a good light spinning rod, think i spotted it in your vid, top angler, looks great fun on such a light rod.
Bought exact same rod today Chris, looks like you use a 3 foot leader, as mentioned i have same lures in 2g and 4g, all i need is to add my club river. Great tips, top angling.
Rod arrived today Chris, £81 very impressed at that price, super light in the hand, nice tip and good backbone in mid section which i love in my fishing set up. Shop only had one left in stock. Thanks a million.
I can't get used to you calling them jerk/crank bates they always used to be called plugs in England. You're very fortunate to have permission to fish that stream they're usually all owned by closed syndicates.
Hope you guys enjoyed this one. Just thought i'd mention my new rubber mesh full carbon net (fancy i know) just turned up. As well as my replacement single hooks for these baits ready for the next time i target these wild brownies!

I prefer just to crush barbs, it's easier...
Give me a contact, i can send you some handmade trout twich lures to try..
Is that a limestone bedrock river by any chance? Stunning looking trout.
What lbs line is ur go to on little streams/rivers/creeks if you can let know 👍

Been out doing loads of sessions like this, it's quickly becoming my favourite way of catching fish! Nice trout catches!
Are there any trout in the Foss? I've never seen one.
@@MrHistorian123 If there were, Chris would no doubt catch one on his first cast.
Just rewatching some older videos when this pops up! Nice!
G... D... im getting addicted from your movies! Great movie TX!
I always love your videos but I have to say these are the sorta ones I mainly like just so peaceful and therapeutic good work buddy
I have never seen a smaller river and I have never seen so many beautiful brown trout, but in this video ... beautiful ... :))
Chris I've been watching your videos since you were singing in bathrooms. I love all of them. But this by far has been the best one. What a top class session. Super fish handling as well. Top notch man.

These trout behave more like piranha than what I'm used to. So lucky to have access to such spots
Brown trout is the most beautiful fish for sure. More vids like this pls :)
Its amazing how u catch those fish in these shallow waters !!!
I invite you to become a honourary Scotsman.
You have the hair, nailed the accent and your Glasgow kiss is on point.
Call them broonies and your in😂
The trout put up a good fight .. I enjoyed every minute of that video.
UL fishing is so much fun, love the videos 👍🏼
Great video again. Best make sure you get back in time I was back several hours late after my last pike session and was in the doghouse for a while 🤣
I'm not a huge fan of trout but those browns are such beautiful fish. When I used to catch the odd one as a kid it was always a red letter day!
Hey Chris, i enjoy this session too! What a nice trout man, here we can't catch them in the wild, makes me sad cause they're nice wild kind of fish, like them! Till the next vid mate 👍🥇
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who shakes my lures about to untangle them 👌🏼😂
Great video!
Love the trout bites/attacks!
Welldone Chris!
Really enjoyed that Chris - cracking size fish on light tackle - 👍
Great vid: this tiny stream holds excellent trout!!!
Nothing better than hooking a brook/river trout... Nice one, Nuff said!. 🙂

ABSOLUTELY beautiful fish ! You should make your way over here to Alaska! Fall Dolly Varden are really colorful too. Going King salmon fishing tomorrow... live the videos as always, cheers!
Absolutely brilliant content!
Why on earth do people give this a thumbs down?
Ignore the wakes, more of the same please!!
Great channel!

High jinks with the trout fishing...very atmospheric..
Wow you caught a bunch of beauties. Loved this!
I'd say you had a very good day there pal.. you just dont want days like that to end 👍
Looks great fun mate awesome video well done 👏
I love coming down to my spot seeing them casting on there heads and seeing the take love it
Well done on making a career out if fishing I've been catching some nice high single finger pike on deadbaits on my local.camal in Scotland having so much fun before the weed destroys the fishing on our canal for bait fishing anyway might take up lure fishing this year

Nice to see that super giant hornet eventually left you alone mate!
Awesome Trout Chris, well chuffed aren't you 😂. All the best from Downunder 👍
What a prolific session! Brilliant stuff. Where abouts are you in the country Chris? Not looking for specifics obviously! Was going to suggest a rubber net, I got one for my trout fishing and it's been great. Tight lines.

I get a great sense of achievement from catching that caliber of trout with my little Shakespear 6foot fly rod and a tiny size 16 dry fly. A totally different experience, different mindset, deep content.

Google maps, try streams off the beaten path
Would be good to see u fly fishing the stream 👍
What a day :)
Cracking video well done
some really nice trout
What rod and reel were you using?
Such a simple way of fishing and a great vid as always.
LMAB MOUSTIQUE + ABU GARCIA SUPERIOR
Anyone who has doubted that there can be love between humans and fish: Here is the counter-evidence.
Those ones at the end were awesome…. I highly doubt too many fish in there, too difficult that’s why they hit so easily. There’s likely the odd 5 pounder under a bank in there, but they are picky eaters, hard too catch by day. The biggest browns often come out at night,

You were lucky pal it must have been a wild trout them farmed trout taste like the lake or river you caught it in 😂
@@derekirelandsirsmokepotalo1152 it was a chalk stream. I know what you mean about farmed trout, Derek
I caught over 100 trout this year and I haven’t touched one. I have seen people say that touching them isn’t ideal. I simply remove the hook in my net and place my net right back into the water to let the fish go. 👍🏼
You hammered em 😉👍 have a go at up stream wet fly I promise its bloody good 😉👍🎣🎣🎣
Good job👍👍
Nice one 👍
Nice video. Just wondering, do you cut the third hook from the treble or replace it with a double? I feel a bit guilty using treble hooks and have considered doing the same.
Replaced all my treble hooks with in line single hooks!
I know somewhere on the river Calder near Copley that you would be able to catch massive brown and rainbow trout, grayling, chubb and even barrel.
Great bit of fishing! I know trout are in season Chris but the rest aren't - how on earth do you not get perch/ chub taking the lure? Same stretches of predator water being fished. Not accusing you of fishing out of season but genuinely puzzled.
Massive ginger beard! "Men Only" beard fertilizer?
The one around 20 mins ish is a good eater size 👌🏻
Brilliant what's the set up your using

Love your videos, but do you not use barbless hooks?
Hi Chris, bought same lure in 4g and ive 2g just bought. I need a good light spinning rod, think i spotted it in your vid, top angler, looks great fun on such a light rod.

I have a question. When I do this should I cast upstream? Does it make a difference?
Clicked so fast lol
It does make you wonder about fly fishing's "match the hatch" philosophy when the litle buggers will go for anything.
Try sweetcorn, not kidding.
Try sweetcorn, not kidding.
get a rubber trout net mate :) will save you from those hook problems
Girlfriend, your not kidding anyone ;)
I can't get used to you calling them jerk/crank bates they always used to be called plugs in England. You're very fortunate to have permission to fish that stream they're usually all owned by closed syndicates.
sorry late to the party but is that the abu garcia superior fd 1000s reel ur using there ?
Trout are wicked fish to catch you can catch them on bread and big bunches of dead maggot or live maggot they love big worms as well
Flyfishing😉
Pozdrawiam serdecznie i życzę miłego dnia
Upstream dry fly for wild browns 👍🏻👍🏻. The only way 👍🏻. Hunt them. Not prospecting.
👍
Do you ever keep any ?
It only counts on fly ☝🤣🤣🤣
what reel are you using? is that michell mag pro?
What rods this matey the 0.5-6g
Hey. Im sorry that im asking but can you Tell me what rod is it? Tight Lines!
I have the same rod, it turned out well. Fishing lock.
