Gotta say.... Out of all your videos this is my personal favourite. That trout is absolutely stunning! Theirs so many epic fishing videos out there but for me this one has that little extra bit of magic!
I’ve captured a few large wild browns in my time on small waters like this, but this one was off the chart. The build up to the hooking and the fight in this vid was incredible. I absolutely love your channel ❤
This defies everything i know about trout fishing, i would never have thought you would catch a trout that big in somewhere like that. What a fish! Well done Chris!
I would say thats exactly where you would catch a trout like that and you said why yourself.... I dont think many people are fishing there so the trout are allowed to grow big and beefy just like that one.
well i live in Norway where brownies is the regular specie the entire country and mostly wild even if some hatchery fish are released because of electric dams etc and i have an average of 150-200 days fishing the last 50 years so even if i dont call myself an expert i dont exactly call myself clueless either....But i guess you fish way more and have a lot more knowledge so i bow to you in shock and awe.... @@markboyd6694
I'm in Australia mate and love your lure fishing. I'm not only a fishermen but also keep large Australian predator fish as pets...teaches you alot. Seeing trout being caught is amazing to me
Now that is impressive! With Catch and release as standard the only example to be setting... Fishing at its finest a true ambassador for the sport. Well done mate...
Agreed, catch and release is the only way for wild browns. We have to preserve the native stocks at all costs. That said, you would be unwise to take a fish from this environment for consumption, probably full of heavy metals and such like! I fish for the table in fisheries that stock rainbows but I never take a brown, it's my unwritten rule.
Fantastic trout. .... I love catching big browns in the most urban. Non looking trout environments... something special about a big bruising brown from those places❤!!!!!!
As a young teen I absolutely loved fishing and spent hours/days/nights living and breeding fishing. Mum would bring my tea to the lake for me when I wouldn't come home. I did a lot more night fishing than anything and always target tench. I was not rich so I only had the basics, I didn't even use a touch and would use the moon for hooking baits and stuff. I am in my 40s now and just wish I could get back into it but I just can't find a way back in to the sport. I love these videos and I reckon you would easily get a TV series of some sort. Congrats on the pb and I look forward to more content 👍. Tattoo is going to look great when it's done mate
most of the people watching this video - understandably due to demographics- are likely to be under 40 and therefore don't appreciate how amazing the conservation efforts have been over the last 50 years. I was fishing in London in the early 70s and we had to go at least 20 miles out of town before we had any chance of catching a decent fish which had not been affected by pollution. We are doing a few things right with our environmental protection legislation and stellar work from local conservation groups. Great video which incentivizes us all to put back into conservation. It is inevitable that in a city environment there will be people who throw trash and shopping carts into the river - but compared with the industrial pollution of past eras we are making some good progress.
Awesome Brownie. Good to see you released it too. Many would have been tempted to pop it under a grill with some butter then garnish with toasted almond flakes.
Well done my son. Explorers are still looking for the Yeti but you've proved what you have always told us that "Monster wild trout are living in urban waterways." Well done again. Keep posting your adventures. I will be there with you looking over your shoulder
what a brilliant Trout very well done, Them part's probably never get fished, shame about the rubbish in the water but the most of it look's very nice, Thank you Chris,
Very determined. The fish AND YOU! DogGone you fish in an underground jungle. Your determination paid off. Just a beautiful Brownie. Congrats on your PB. Great looking fish as bd it really was a lunker.
Hi there, great catch, some people are commenting on the rubbish and how neglected that stretch of river is but that’s probably why fish of this size are there because nobody fishes there much and there is minimal disturbance however it is a shame that people feel fit to chuck rubbish into the river anyway well done Chris 👍
Superb catch and a superb video upload. Enjoyable and entertaining throughout. Who would have thought that there were fish of that size in these areas.
I am stunned at that huge urban trout. It really was your day, I thought it was going to come off too. And what great condition it was in too. Much respect, a day never to forget!!😊
Awesome my friend caught one at around the 6lb mark when we were kids in my local river which looks very similar to this one. Fish of a lifetime really good to see there are a few still out there
Superb trout pal, ive had a Brownie over 6lb out of loch Ness and some fairly big ones of other lochs but to get one in that stretch of water was unreal. Great job actually landing it.👍🏴
Nice fish. When it was stuck between the branches in the water seeing the way you pulled the rod…i was think that anytime the line could snap and you won’t have the chance to see it but you knew what combo you are where uing and how mutch you can pull before it snaps.Well done, great fish.👍🎣
Stunning fish and you did well not to lose it fella.... I've had a few like that unexpectedly, when fishing for chub and perch in the past..... they've got some go in them.... Love those chaotic moments when your sure it's all gonna go tits up but somehow you end up with the fish in the net....
Awesome fish. They are out there. I live in Australia now but used to fish some urban spots near Stockport. Access was not easy, but biggest brown went 6lb 10oz - it was like a salmon! Waters that have been undisturbed for a long time can hold BIG surprises.
Dude! Click off the video when you say you're after wild brown trout? Are you MAD!? I LOVE the brown trout vids, they have to be among the most beautiful, hardest fighting fish we have here in the UK. Bring it on, Chris, cannot wait!!!
Dude that was an absolute unit of a Trout...must have been such a buzz to finally land it with all that cover and snags it had you through. Fish of a lifetime get in!!
Fish of a lifetime buddy. Wading and casting upstream has its perils but you've shown it's the only way to target the top of the food chain predators. Amazing
Incredible, the sort of fish you would think of living in pristine waters up in Scotland. Just goes to show , people might still be throwing rubbish in but our rivers are on a different level to back in the 60's and 70's ( poulition wise ). Wow great video.

Chris, cracking trout, absolute beauty!! We have a chalk stream near to where I work, that also went under a road, I used to watch the trout being fed by passers by, all between 6oz to maybe 2lb., every now and then you would see a fish that you describe as a rat muncher, similar to the one you caught, there were brownies and rainbows, all fish originally came from a lake 2 miles upstream in the ground if a posh house. You cant fish the stretch where the trout are due to council law, but it's great watching them. Love the tattoos as wel👍 Kev
I've only just discovered your channel as I'm starting fishing as a beginner. Even though I've never fished before even I was holding my breath when you were trying to land that huge trout. Great channel, great content 👏
(comment from the Mountain West, U.S.) Browns are a rare catch for me, too. Last year around this time, I pulled my PB brown out of a reservoir I like to fish, which isn't known for browns. It was my only bite of the night, after two hours trying with spoons and spinners. Then, wham, a two-foot brown grabbed my Little Cleo lime-green spoon. Instantly, the night got a whole lot better!
I have seen many big brownies but that blows me a way what a absolute urban stunner , mind blown. there are fisheries that would be proud to have that swimming in their waters. The shoulder markings on that fish are something else , (spot layout and density) ps i mean they are all stunning brownies but the clonker hits it out the ball park.
Fish of a lifetime in this country, well done buddy
Hello from Marmaris Türkiye .This is my king of fishing . i like to catch oversized fish in an unexpected place. What a beautiful trout , great video.

Yes but trout live shallow and low flow in the wild too, it's a super adaptive specie:)@@PG_FISHING

You are the Don, your enthusiasm would be excellent for a teaching career, the passion is so contagious ❤️
Thanks for the great video. Heartening that such a beautiful fish can thrive in an environment which man has made grotesque.
this man never fails to make my day better by using his skills to catch giants. always amazes me
Beautiful Brown Chris! The largest Brown I ever caught was under a culvert in a tiny slow moving stream, 21' And 7.3 lbs. It brings me back. Nice job!
Good to see a river that's actually got a decent stock of fish and looks in relatively good condition - especially in an urban environment.
That river is in terrible condition
Awesome Brownie.
Good to see you released it too.
Many would have been tempted to pop it under a grill with some butter then garnish with toasted almond flakes.
Bloody awsome! I remember catching a similar fish with hooked jaws in the calder about 20 years ago. A fish you will never forget!!
Wow. Chris that is one of the best catches I have ever seen or heard of.
Beautiful fish. Interesting enough, in my home country you can find trouts in the mountain waters only.
And thats! why it is called a sport. Wow what a thrill to watch. Absolute beast I would not expect such a fish there. Thank you for sharing.
