    In Australia we call them Red Fin, and they are classified an invasive species that can not be released when caught. They can grow upwards of ten pounds in some water ways and make good eating. Looked like you had a lot of fun George, that's what it's all about.

    • @adventurefishinguk
      @adventurefishinguk  Год назад +1

      I knew you had them over there but I didn’t know they needed to be killed! We have a similar rule with Zander, they’re supposed to be killed but no one does. Do people ignore the rules and put perch back? I didn’t know they got to 10lb that’s crazy!

      I have never caught redfin in the Murray river anywhere near ten pounds, those big fellas were caught in irrigation drainage lakes. that were not easily accessed. The water that filled the lakes had been drawn from the Murray river transported via open cut channels to irrigate properties then drained in those lakes. I have also caught them to that size in major water reservoirs and compounds that were constructed to hold vast amounts of water for town and city domestic use.@@RUclipsTookMyNickname.WhyNot

    Wonder if its worth looking for Weedless jig heads to try n combat the snag issues. And Ive found when using softplastics on a jig head like those that they work or fish better on sumthing like a Palomar loop knot rather than the knot being right up on the hook eye.

    Well done, what a beauty, a really fantastic fish. I followed your link to that lure, wow aren't they expensive! I'm certainly too mean to spend that much for a lure, I make my own. That perch certainly cost you dear, you lost at least two lures in the process of catching it.

    • @adventurefishinguk
      @adventurefishinguk  Год назад

      I think it works out at about £2 for the lure and jig head roughly when put together, not cheap but could definitely be worse! I’d buy a full shops worth of lures to catch that perch, so losing a few on my way to catch it seems fair 😂

      In what way is a ned rig fishing rod different out of interest?

    • @bossen32
      @bossen32 Год назад +2

      @@adventurefishinguk its more sensitive in the rodtip to more easily have contact with your bait on the bottom, and to easier feel structure , its also normally lower cast Weight for example 5-15 grams , instead of like 5-28 grams like my jigg fishing rod is ☺️ , and you go thinner lines with a ned rig rod than you do with your jigg rod ☺️
