Great video George, good to see so many fish on the bank. I also suggest the Norfolk broads, I've had lots of doubles and a 23lb one from under the road bridge in the middle of Wroxham/Hoveton. Combine exercise with your fishing, cycle or walk briskly to the canal. If its too far away, drive to within a couple of miles, then walk briskly f to and from the canal. Free exercise and eco friendly, win win.
Now then, buddy. … what a cracking video and plenty of fish on your newly designed Fishing lure …. Hope all is good with you and the family and your little one is certainly sprouting up quickly isn’t he? The concentration on his face eating his pom bear crisps.😂😂😂 my kids used to love them and so did I when they only ate half of the bag and that meant spare ones for me 😁😁…… will definitely be purchasing one ( or two ) of your lures once you have sorted them out for sale and look forward to viewing some of your other items that you will be no doubt making. The Northern Lights Perch....sorry it must be said its AWSOME....Ive just had another pike out of the canal using this lure and ive been trying for weeks in this warmer weather but it seems to be the only lure thats working so far for me....thanks again buddy
Yeah it’s definitely healthy, however I did need to fish 2 days and cover a lot of ground to get these numbers on the bank! Videos can be deceiving as they don’t show all the hours without a nibble… but you’re right there’s a good amount in there 👍
Some awesome fishing there pal! Really like how you get your son involved! Mines not far off that age to hold the net 😊 As for exercise, I discovered a good one today! Use your son as a kettlebell 😂 squat and rocket ship, two birds, one stone 😉
That was fun, and nice work by your first mate! Maybe some day. Brought to mind a memory of my childhood when we fished a pond that had a bass who was much larger then any other catchable fish swimming around, who I had a go at, and managed to catch and put back. Nice lure. I bet the pike would smash it in my area in the Detroit River, USA, where there are plenty of chunky 30+ inch (75+ cam) gators (as we call the nice ones here) swimming around. But fish a meter long are very rare around here because of the temperature extremes.
Very interesting video, thanks for sharing. I gather Sweden and Ireland have some big pike. As someone who struggles with weight, sensible eating and no alcohol has helped me.
Great video George. Alfie has got big now definitely be on the bank with you fishing soon. He looked terrified of the pike though 😂. Do a burpee for every pound of fish caught in that session.
...Wonderful video. Have you ever thought of using a fly rod for Pike? Have used a fly rod for catching Smallmouth Bass here, they are tremendous fighters. To lose weight I wait till fall to pheasant hunt, walking the fields all day will wither those pounds right off...
Brilliant video! I think the inland waterways deserve a lot more resect than they generally get as they are not stocked and are natural environments now as they are so old. I was surprised that the pike you caught, except the jack, all had some sort of injury? And they were really slim, not like a fat lake pike. But the small jack shows, healthy breeding is happening? If you want to loose weight ... give up the Kitkats and the coffee ;-) Take a few carrots with you and a bag of peas, fresh peas are like sweets but good for you :-) As a kid on bike rides we couldn't afford kitkats or coke. We used to raid the pea fields and never got fat :-) Leave your cash and card at home so you can't buy any kitkats ;-) Hey, I am 6ft 2, I used to be 32 waist and lanky, walk 30 miles a day or cycle 100 now I am 62 (and falling apart)? Do fishing challenge where you add up all of the weight of the fish you catch in a day and you have to curl that weight. The amount of fish equals the number of sets 😀👍
2 fishermen and I used that term loosely🤬 we're digging up the grass up at the edge of the canal with a shovel apparently looking for worms, the bailiff was called and when approached they said they've just found the shovel and it wasn't them🤔 Good luck to the boaters who stand in big holes when they get off their boats.... Apparently there wasn't members and didn't have a day ticket they probably didn't have a licence either, but that's down to a different department. It's like everything else there's good and bad... I saw a duck today with a hook and line stuck in its mouth..poor thing 🦆🦆
There is a nice big one around lancaster canal, near the waterwitch, haven't managed to catch it myself yet, it was right in front of me, on the bottom of the water with an Eel in its mouth. Definitely in double figures! If I manage to land it, I will let you know.

That’s very good advice thank you! Unfortunately where I am it’s quite the drive to get to most of the places I fish. I could definitely get more steps in though!
Losing weight is about controlling calories, tesco apple and cinnamon porridge for brekkie, learn to love Sainsbury be good cuppa soups, the Thai one is spectacular with Pom bears and a chicken sandwich for lunch, and tesco mains for around 500 calories for dinner, that leaves you at around 1000 calories for the day leaving 600 for an evening beer allowance, add in 3 5k jogs a week and that helped me lose nearly 3 stone without trying too hard. Good luck, and remember, when you reach your target weight you can eat a bit more for maintence.
And yeah you don't need to exercise! Just don't sit watching RUclips all day Sunday like me 🤔 but calasnetics while you fish could work but you'll look mental 😋😋😋

That’s very good advice thank you! Unfortunately where I am it’s quite the drive to get to most of the places I fish. I could definitely get more steps in though!
next time, park a mile or two away from the water. or maybe cycle.

Hi, how do you set up your leader?
Just a solid knot from the braid to the wire trace, very simple!
@@adventurefishinguk what pound trace would your recommend and knot?
Lots of 3lb pike is why there is one 18lb pike.
Good point!
go fishing on this same canal and every fish u catch is 10 pushups and 10 burpees
Thanks for the suggestion!
Is that lure available to buy or is it's a personal custom job.
They will be available to buy in a few weeks from my website (which isn't currently live) 👍
@@adventurefishinguk thanks for the reply
Hi mate, I own a canal boat on the other side of the canal shown on the video, its a private mooring so if you ever want to fish there give me a bell👍
Thanks a lot for the advice mate I really appreciate it!
@@adventurefishinguk oh, drink at least 4 pints of water of low cal squash or something a day to try and keep the hunger pangs at bay!
I'm on my third canal pike blank today😢
Unlucky, i'm sure you'll get one soon. Especially if you use a northern lights perch 😉
Anyone else thing that the arrow in the thumbnail was pointing to Pacman?
Haha now you mention it...
Красивая у вас семья.
Thank you, much appreciated!
Can ppl catch and cook trouts?
Some people do, not really with wild fish very often more stocked fish!
Mate I lost 2 stone in a couple of months. Fast for 2 days a week, stop grazing and going to sleep with a full stomach 👍
Thanks for the advice mate!
swim the next place you are fishing end to end!!
😂 a good idea for sure
Pom Bears are good for your diet!!
Haha that's good they're always in the house 😂
And yeah you don't need to exercise! Just don't sit watching RUclips all day Sunday like me 🤔 but calasnetics while you fish could work but you'll look mental 😋😋😋
Haha yeah a calisthenics fishing session could be an interesting one!
You don't appear to be using a trace, @@adventurefishinguk; mind if I ask why that is...? 🤔
Hope your sponsored by pombear 😂😂😂
Haha yes I am, three packs of crisps per video 😂
