I have a stream half that size, 5 min walk from the house. Hardly anyone fishes it, but quite regularly get 10+ chub and perch per hour, similar to these out of it. Simple Fun Fishing!
Hi Chris, by now I watched almost all your videos and I thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them. I was particularly intrigued by your micro jigging of small rivers. I absolutely love it! I got myself the required kit and today I caught no end of Perch and some Chub from my “local” river. Thanks for the great inspiration!
I’m watching this on my lunch break at work, going fishing this evening and this has put me right in the mood!! I’ve been dropping in on your videos every now and then for a while now and they’re always top class!
Nice to know there are still little rivers like this to be fished in a natural way, unlike the commercials that are everywhere, making people think carp fishing therein is the only fishing available.
I carp fish mainly, but I also pike and perch fishing, too. Not too bothered about smelly bream. Ive also just been given a fly rod, so im excited to try learn that too. I don't like that whole pole/match fishing nonsense. Mainly because they are moody and up their own arse half the time. I'm off to France on the 18th, and as a carp fisherman, you'd expect me to be going a lake full of 50s...but I'm actually going on the river in search of catfish! I've never tried for them here in the uk, but I think a river catfish could be cool if I can pull it off 😆
Good luck with the catfish (Silure!) I actually live in France now, but as a youth 60 years ago used to fish the upper reaches of the River Cam above Cambridge, totally unspoilt and full or good Roach, Chub, Pike, Trout etc. Then it was ruined by dredging supposedly to prevent flooding! I have caught Silure in part of the Rhone up to 80kilos, 2.4 metres long, I had to jump in to land it! @@weeeeee374
@@weeeeee374 - I’ve got family in France, my niece’s boyfriend caught a huge catfish from the Loire recently. Assuming we got the translation right, he was using live bait. Tight lines 😀👍
What a fantastic session Chris. Beautiful fish from a completely wild ,neglected stream. And good fishing on your part too with your hybrid bait. It did the business. That's what separates good fishermen from great ones. Always thinking about improving your chance of catching fish.☺👍
We do mate... River Clyde (Midclyde) and I'm constantly catching Sea Trout, Brown Trout, Perch, Grayling, Roach, Dace, Flounders and more... My wee 10 yr old girl got a 2.5Ib Broonie on Saturday evening out Clyde on maggots: 2x maggots + 1x rubber maggot just to prop 6-8 inches off bottom = BOOM!!
There's a guy here in Australia that catches carp with lures. Yes carp unfortunately had been released in Australia 200 years ago. He uses lots of the willow blades on soft plastics. His channel is Windsor bait and tackle
The river Trent isn't that fare from where you are dunnum bridge..just out of Redford and elksley...it would be a great video to watch you catch big chub out of there..Tight lines
Hi,I left the comment on some of your video,I'm not sure if you see it, but I'm super happy that you trying to fishing in wild river and I can see that you are super enjoying, I told you leaf Park fishis in place 😀 .very nice video.
Mate, brilliant vid as always. Quick question. I do a lot of spinning etc. Do you always fish upstream? If so, I guess you have to retrieve fast to keep the blade going?
River looks in great condition, unlike most of those in the Thames Water area. Walked part of the River Kennet today , near Marsh Benham looks dead it’s a bloody disgrace. Which water company area you in? Love the videos , keep em coming.
Great video. Could you recommend a pair of polarised sunglasses for fishing? Whst do you wear? Not limited by price, just want a really good pair of sunglasses.
Chris you some man for the fishing, I've been watching you since May 2023, I think I've watched about 50 videos and you are great at what you do, Quick question why does England have Chubb and Ireland doesn't are chubb native to England only ? And thanks watch your videos made me get ultra light 2gram to 8 and then 10gram to 25gram, targeting perch and jack pike. Best video when you fall and thought you lost your glasses 😭🤓👊
@@rsturb01984 no pal, England has about 5 more fresh water species, dace, Chubb and the other big fish Chris catches like cat fish mouths barbels I think we don't have them. I've asked my local group and their is dace in one river of the Shannon but very hard to catch sorry there is dace however very rare, are them species I've named native to England?
Hi Chris .love watching all you vids and have learnt a lot from you .can you answer a question for me please.how long can you safely keep a river or canal fish out of the water ,you see some folks that seem to keep them out for ages and I feel for the poor fish,s health .thanks mate keep filming 😊
Chris How do u check whether these waters are fishable or do u just test Ur luck until someone tells you different? Ur casting accuracy is off the scale 👏 loving the content keep it up 👍
Dont know how it is in the uk or where you live but where i live in Sweden there is a website where you can search alot of stuff and one of the things is all lakes in the comunity with depth all species plants and fish sometimes if a rare insect but some lakes they dont put in but have almost always catch something

Whenever I tell anyone I’m going fishing, I stress that it’s active, not sit down fishing at a lake stocked with fish!
Good for you!@@leftmono1016

Hey Chris can you do the link for the hooks that go with the tube bates ?

0:22 spider be like: "I got myself a big one today!".
Quick question? With this set up, do you use fluoro leader or wire, just in case you get a pike?
Cracking video Chris, as always. I live on the lower river Rhine; trust me mate, what you were fishing there was a stream, just.😂
Here in NZ perch love anything with a blade. My biggest many years back now 6lb. It was a beer keg.

Great video! Were you using the Shimano Aldebaran reel?
Nice video whenever I catch Chubb I nearly always catch barbel too shame none there looks perfect for them
I love bfs content:)
chris: have a look at that. perch: Nope!
How did you know that the chub fish was a He?
My son would like to learn this skill thanks
I love your videos, i guess the first fish you caught is not a wild carp- its rather a chub, isnt it?
How do you lose so many nets? You need them attached to you!
Awesome video new subscriber here
Put your net on a waist rope or keyfob coil.
Why upstream instead of the other way around regarding throwing lure?
