The rainy weather here in Ireland has been a little too much also over the past 2 weeks. It's been warm and very humid too, but it has the perch biting like crazy.
In canals they're packed against lock-gates making the most of the rainy food flush. I've been pulling them out with 5 gram curly-tail lures almost conveyor belt style. Great fun and always catch and careful release.

Still in a working mode, got 5 nightshifts left (wednesday thursdag this week and wednesday thursday friday next week) until a 2 week vacation, and at least 1 of those weeks will be dedicated to fishing. Im really looking forward to it. This video and others of yours makes it easier to endure.

You have a different range of lures over there but the principles of colour and design are the same.

From Finland here. Interesting to see so many large perch concentrated in small freshwater flows. Over here we have loads of large perch but they are dispersed in the thousands of lakes and rivers, not necessarily so easy to catch several in one go unless you visit a place that has not been fished in recent times (of which there are loads too) - or if you fish the Baltic sea, which, being breakwater, also has perch in it and often big ones.
I take it you do not eat the fish you catch? Perch that size would definitely get eaten by most fishermen in here as perch is quite good in taste.

The fishing looks very nice, especially fishing fish you can see in the canals, but it is somewhat weirdto see fishing that is happening in these "cramped" quarters being myself used to having large and small lakes and rivers all over the country and spending the summers in a summer cottage by a good medium-sized (by Nordic standards, but actually probably bigger than any lake in the UK) lake.
