    Awesome, I'm just getting into the Sony world myself, raising 3 kids its super tough to afford at first. I've almost got my new rig together, just goin' with the A6300 but like you said gets the job done until I can step up. Thanks.

    Sony is definately the work horse of the cameras out there, a few months after this video was released Canon did release the EOS 90D which is a DSLR but it filmed 120fps in 1080p. It was not full frame but did have at least 33 MP sensor. For a DSLR its a beast! Wont compare to mirrorless full frame sony in low light but would probably get you to what the naked eye could see in the low light.

    Just a heads up, you can send the zip tied Rode Mic into Rode and they will replace it. I broke mine just like that and they replaced it no problem.

    Hey! Great videos! Best on filming hunts out there. I’m currently using an a6400 and was debating going to full fram A73. Do you honestly think end result it would be worth the investment?

    Hey man, your camera videos are great and very helpful. Been out of the camera game for a while so considering myself a newbie. Looking at a6500, a7sii and a7iii. Assuming you'd pick the a7sii, even with the junk battery?

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  4 года назад +1

      The A7iii is a great buy for the price however if you want to spend a little more coin you could pick up the A7Siii. 👍

    Hey Dylan, I have been using the sony a6400 since it came out, and its a great camera. I plan to keep it. But I've thinking about getting into the full frame game for hunting videos. I also like wildlife photography. I know the a7r3 and a7r4 are great for photography, but how do you think they stack up against the a7s2 or a7s3 for video (low light)?

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  3 года назад +1

      To be honest they are are great cameras in low right. Your a7s3 might be slightly better but they will all video until the Hunter can’t legally shoot now days.

    I am wanting to upgrade my main camera by this fall. I am currently shooting on a canon t4i but was looking at the Sony a6400 and the a6300. Would you still recommend the a6300, or do you think it would be worth the extra money for the a6400? I'm planning on buying the 18-105mm lens. I would be using it mostly for hunting (mostly filming others) and for a few vlog-style videos. The flip-up screen would be super nice. (I'm 15)

      Thanks for reaching out. I’m not too familiar with the two different models so I just did some research. From what I can see there isn’t a huge difference other than a few small updates. If it was me I don’t know if it’s worth paying the extra price for pretty much the same camera.

    Dylan, Is the A7 III still the best bang for your buck at 1899? Im coming from filming with a Sony Ax700 camcorder and Im just not happy with the quality in the Auto settings. I self film and rely on the auto settings for the most part. I was looking at combining the a7 III with Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS Lens so i can still control record and zoom feature via remote.

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  Год назад +1

      Yes I would say the A7iii or the new A7iv (more features & slightly higher price) would be your two best options.

    Hey there! I may have asked this on another post... sorry 😆. But, I’ve recently bought the a6600 for hunting videos as well as weddings and other videos. I don’t have a lens for my camera yet and am racking my brain on the nest one to get right now. I’m torn between the tamron 70-180 f2.8 and the Sony 18-105 f4. What is your most used, go to lens mm size for bow hunting!? That will help me decide. Thank you 😊

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  3 года назад +1

      We primarily use the Sony 70-200mm f2.8 for bow hunting. It would a little more pricing than those you listed but the quality is well worth it.

  • @trenthostetler5632

    Good stuff 👍🏽 I run the Sony a 73 with the 18-105 crop sensor lens, I know I’m giving up a little bit of quality going that route but it allows me to use a remote which is super handy if your self filming, and with the crop factor and the 1.5 x clear image zoom it gives me a range from 27-315 I believe which is awesome

    • @bpointtv

    Love your guys videos. Audio seems to be an area we lack and I know either in this vid or another you said you mainly run wireless mics. Do you run an audio adapter with your sonys to have a wireless mic and shot gun mic?

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  5 лет назад

      We mainly run just an audio adapter for our wireless mics. We have ran adapters in the past that you can control both the shotgun and wireless mic. You can get a lot better audio with them if done properly, however the downfall is it's another thing to monitor in the field. If one of the channels isn't at the correct level it can really be disturbing to watch.

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  5 лет назад

      Our wireless mic are capable of capturing the majority of the audio we want for a hunt.

    • @717outdoors9
      @717outdoors9 5 лет назад +1

      Awesome thanks. So say your turkey hunting and at the time only running 1 camera with a wireless mic, is it going to pick up the sound of a gobbler or pretty much need to have that 2nd camera with a shot gun mic running? Thanks!

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  5 лет назад

      717 Outdoors We typically will run two cameras while turkey hunting, one with a shotgun and the other with wireless. Whichever ends up sounding the best for gobbles we will use in post production.

    • @717outdoors9
      @717outdoors9 5 лет назад +1

      Sounds good, we do usually run 2, but at times when you gotta pick up and move 60 yards to get in closer that 2nd camera sometimes seems to be forgotten.

    I know you said the 24-240mm lens pairs good with the 6300, but would it also pair well or better with the A7iii? I’m getting an a7iii and I want the 24-240 so i don’t always have to change lenses. Basically what I’m asking is, would the a7iii put out better quality with that lens than the 6300?

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  4 года назад +1

      The 24-240 would also pair well with the A7iii. The A7iii will put out better quality but not a substantial jump.

    Hey man I am superrrr new to filming hunts like just have 2 go pros new lol but I want to get into using something mirrorless I think bc it seems like I can get the best quality videos out of that style as well as using the camera for photos of the family and etc what models should I consider looking into with Sony

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  Месяц назад

      Depending on your budget I would recommend any of the A6000-6500 series cameras. If you have a little more money to play with look into a Sony A7iii or A7iv.

  • @trenthostetler5632
    @trenthostetler5632 5 лет назад +1

    And a question I would have to is, do you use manual focus or auto focus? I self film almost everything so I use auto focus but an issue I run into is in high contrast situations it wants to “pulse and hunt” for focus which is super annoying and almost unusable sometimes 😏 is this something you ran into or are familiar with?

    • @trenthostetler5632
      @trenthostetler5632 5 лет назад +1

      Do you use focus peaking? If so what color?

      Thanks!

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  5 лет назад

      Focus peaking is something that we have found out is something you need to be careful with. Many times with focus peaking while recording you image will appear to be in focus and in playback you discover it is slight off.

    I have a Sony Gm 70-200 F2.8, I was wonder what filter you would run on that? I mainly want it for protection. What do you guys recommend and what do you use for protection in your lenses?!

    • @bpointtv
      @bpointtv  3 года назад

      If you are looking for just a UV filter the options are endless. I don’t think a pricey one is necessary. You can get sleeves to protect you lenses from bumps, scratches, etc. One thing I’ve used that is a cheap alternative is if you have any older thick socks lying around you can cut them to slide over the body for protection also.

    • @crazytrain20
      @crazytrain20 3 года назад +1

      Yes I was more asking about the UV filters if you guys use them to protect your glass. And if there was a certain one you guys went with. I cut the legs off my Sitka downpour pants and use those for my lens body! I just sold all my canon gear and switched to Sony. Been watching your videos on setting snd stuff! • @bpointtv

      We switch between 4K and 1080 at 120fps because 4K slowed down in post is very limited and can appear choppy .
