Great video man, I’m just getting into self filming, so I’ve got a lot to learn! I like the way you set up everything just how you would in a hunting scenario and then explained all the things you were doing. Made it very easy to follow along. Keep up the great work!
Hey Chris! I’m one of the twins you meet in London Kentucky and in the airport in Ely Minnesota. I’m glad to see another video! They all help me become a better shooter, and Hunter. Thanks so much Chris!
For those of you looking into starting filming I would VERY STRONGLY suggest looking at a 360 camera like the Insta360 One R. It's easy to use and can cover a ton of different angles! I've had a ton of luck with mine
I run a Sony A6100 with an 18-105 f/4 and the constant aperture works wonders in low light. Definitely recommend anyone looking to self film to get a lens that allows you to get shots both close up and far away. Plus the 18-105 allows you to run a remote if you want. One of the few lenses out there with that capability.
Thanks Chris for taking the time to share your best practices and equipment choice. I am new to this and it really helps to see how professionals do it. Thanks and happy Thanksgiving bud!
Great video Chris, I have went to a set up similar for self filming. I have a question not on the filming though. How do you add outer layers like a heavier jacket with a saddle. Here in PA I'm in a situation where I will overheat if I put all my layers on before up in the tree, So when I need to add the layer later in the evening you cannot zip it unless you undo your saddle to get the waist belt and bridge over the Jacket. I have been trying to find a video on it with no luck. Maybe a video you can do on another non hunt day. Ant incite would be appreciated. cooler temps are in my horizon so I will put all layer on at the base of the tree. Have a BLESSED day and keep SHARING your PASSION
I always will wear my heavier bottoms but I’ll leave my heavy coat off till I’m up setup in the tree. Unfortunately I haven’t found a way to put heavy bottoms on while in the saddle.
Definitely made my hunting harder to the point where some morning I will refuse to record. But these equipment set up videos make it easier for me to try a new set up strategy
Just started solo filming this season with a Sony a6600 and same rode mic. I was using the muddy hunt hard tree arm but i didn’t care for it. So I just received the same 4th arrow arm and base along with a new fluid head and man does that make a huge difference. Can’t wait to get in the tree tomorrow afternoon and try it out.
Thanks for the video. I was very interested in how you set all that up. Always mind blown how you can film and hunt. Imma stick just to slinging arrows for now! Perfect one skill at a time 👌
You know ever since I’ve started watching people hunt and everything on RUclips I’ve always wanted to do it but I don’t have the equipment and all that stuff I would really like to start maybe when I’m older or try to start now and get something going! But great video!!
Great vid! Have you tried the Sony 18-105 f4 you can use a remote with it. For archery self purposes it works great bc all shots are within zoom range. I have the a7iii that flip screen would make life a lot easier in the tree lol
Really appreciate everything you do, it is obvious your level of experience learned by how smooth you move through this subject. Have a question if you might reply. What arrow weight, spine, etc, do you use? It seems I recall you shoot at 70lb and I am sure you have different setups. I am experimenting with 340 to 250 spines, 68lb, 28.5 draw. Building arrows around 340's at 416 to 500gr and 250's between 585 to 650gr for now and eventually play with 300 spine if needed. Any of your thoughts are greatly appreciated, your experience at your age is unquestionable and very comprehensive. Thanks for the great vids, keep em' comin'.
Have you thought about using a power zoom lens from sony and then having a rocker switch zoom and focus button on the handle to make it like a video camera but the advantages of a mirrorless. I have a a6600 and am thinking about trying it but im not sure. What are your thoughts?
Great video Chris. Man, you always make the best videos. Your audio and picture quality is so good. I never have to struggle to hear what you are saying. They are great. Thanks for the ride.
Hey I just upgraded to the Sony a7iii and wanted to use it for self filming. Just curious what you do with your camera when it starts raining? Do you have anything to protect it?
In your prior self filming setup video you had an external monitor mounted at the top. Is there a reason you don’t use one anymore? I’m only asking because I’m planning to get one for my setup and want to know your opinion. Thanks in advance
Awesome video Chris! Just wondering, how much extra battery life can you get from the extra camera grip? I go through batteries really fast with the a7sii and am looking for a better solution.
I also film quite a bit and do so for work. Seeing the quality of your footage I figured those were the cameras you'd take out of your bag. Most folks are going to crap their pants when they realize you have $6,500 in camera bodies alone strapped to that tree. Not sure if people know you're walking to the tree with 10k on your person every time you set up. That forth arrow base is the cats ass!
Hey fellow Michigander! Looking into a mid-tier bow $6-700 range. Hunting and 3d target shooting. I shoot all the time out of season. So more 3d target than hunting. Can you recommend the mission line-up? Thinking about the Hoyt Torrex or Pse drive NXT! Thanks buddy!
Hey man, I am saddle hunting and want to start filming my hunts. I have a nice mount and arm, and I have a Sony A7IV with the 90 mm fixed full frame lens. Do you think this focal length will be okay for saddle hunting with a bow to be shooting deer 20-40 yards? Will it be too tight? What focal length do you normally shoot at if you use a zoom length. I would use a zoom lens if I had one, but I only have his 90 mm fixed full frame lens.
With that secondary AS3, is there a battery-consumption advantage vs. using a gopro-power pack setup? I'm trying to get the best audio, best video, etc. and wonder if this is the route to go. But I use a gopro on an arm, basically the same setup here, just a gopro 9 running on loop. I thought I had the best setup figured out but am certainly open to upgrading to a mirrorless if it's gonna mean better quality all around. It's either mirrorless or finding the right 360 cam for me. Anyone feel free to chime in, thanks.
Sorry to have to ask this on here, but does anyone know a phone number for the "beereal merch" customer service dept? I can not seem to find a number for them anywhere. Their customer service dept that responds to their emails must be completely swamped or something. I greatly appreciate any help with this, and thank you in advance.😊
I pee out the stand. Believe it or not I had a guide pee in a scrape at Hadley creek and he told me a buck will work it over and not be bothered but alot of soft drinks and coffee in your system may spook them. They afternoon I watched 3.5 year old buck re work that scrape.
Cant wait to see the mathews 2022 release vid
Never knew how tough solo filming is until I tried it myself, hats off to you and everyone else who have success with it
for real!
Yep! I got one kill on film on my channel. I have multiple hunts with deer though.
It’s the same with everything in hunting. Practice, practice, practice.
Gangster setup! 🤘🤙🎞
Truly appreciate what you go through to bring us the content you do. Thank you.

I’m from Manchester!
For those of you looking into starting filming I would VERY STRONGLY suggest looking at a 360 camera like the Insta360 One R. It's easy to use and can cover a ton of different angles! I've had a ton of luck with mine
That is a great idea. I may look into one when I go to up grade. Thanks for sharing
@@BoxieOutdoors awesome! Good luck with it if you do! I would suggest maybe getting an extended life battery
The extended battery would probably be wise.
does it zoom? I have a GoPro 5 Black but I'm looking for a decent camera that'll zoom

Nice work. Slick set up. Looking into doing more saddle stuff. I like the mobility. 👊🏻
Excellent! Needed this info! Good stuff
Great productions is never a simple process. Keep up the great work!
Yes! Chris Bee Day!
Heck yeah!!!!
Let’s gooooo. Another vid! Keep up the hard work Chris!
Great video!
Just in case anyone needs to know, that is an Eberlestock Bandit bag. It is a pretty sweet bag.
Thanks! I was hoping someone would ask or provide this answer!
Looks like an awesome setup. One that’s absolutely out of my league-but still cool to see how y’all do it.
Ready for the new Mathews to drop so I can see some Chris bee hunting.
Thanks for the video. I was very interested in how you set all that up. Always mind blown how you can film and hunt. Imma stick just to slinging arrows for now! Perfect one skill at a time 👌
Awesome video !! Very good information on the set up . Quick question what box do you use in the Bed of your truck ?
Luv the vids keep up the good work chris😁

We have the same tree saw. 🤣 Also apparently I didn't follow your advice on buying my first ever bow. Went straight to the V3. Lol

I have to admit I was pretty nervous watching you spin the A7iii around the screw mount. 😅😂
Great video Chris. Man, you always make the best videos. Your audio and picture quality is so good. I never have to struggle to hear what you are saying. They are great. Thanks for the ride.
Wow nice job on laying it all out. There is a a lot to it. Thank you sir......Mathews 2022 release your the guy we will watch FIRST
Does that lens have power zoom? Are you manually zooming in/out while holding your bow in your hand? Or do you use a remote with power zoom?
thanks from France.Idream hunt in the U.S.A....every place I love to know..
Thank for all videos.

Awesome video,
What target y’all recommend for target shooting with field points and broad heads?
I think I saw you at one of my archery tournaments in Lancaster
Rode video micro is a front directional mic, so your audio form the mic will be lowered or the mic will not receive your audio.
Do you only use the shotgun mic during a hunt or do you also use the lav mic?
Hey fellow Michigander! Looking into a mid-tier bow $6-700 range. Hunting and 3d target shooting. I shoot all the time out of season. So more 3d target than hunting. Can you recommend the mission line-up? Thinking about the Hoyt Torrex or Pse drive NXT!

Mr Chris... can I get a link for the clamp mount that you attached to your bow hanger?
Chris, I have this great 7200 sqf property in Ypsilanti, lol. We should shoot some squerals together sometime
Hey was wondering what type of camera you would recommend buying that is cheap and affordable
What’s your preferred release when hunting?
What lav mic are you wearing in this video. The audio is A+
Someone starting out filming going with the a7iii would you recommend the g series 24-105 or the 24-240 lens?

Hey Chris, do you have any recommendations for a cheaper hunting bow, im running the same 8 year old bear archery cruzer
Would you ever use a Sony remote when videoing.
Hey I'm curious how long it usually takes for you guys to ship out merch? I ordered a hat
Nice 👍
Dude u have to come hunt lanai Hawaii and hunt axis deer and mouflon sheep
Hey Chris can you please do a video for beginner hinge shooters.
What boots are you wearing in this video? I like the look of them, look comfortable.
Thanks
NICE beard Chris 👍
🔥🔥🔥
What do you do when it rains?
What are you using for your lav mic??

Is the canon rebel t5 worth a flip for a beginner?
Hey Chris i love your vids. I know youtube demonetized all hunting videos. How are you doing with that and how can your audience support you?
What sticks do you use ?
The pack is an Eberlestock Bandit Pack. Just in case anyone is wondering.
Why not use a quality 4k camcorder and a Gopro with remote for a second angle? Both 4K and are Lighter smaller and seems more efficient.
What is that interview mic that you are using?
Eberlestock Bandit backpack for those interested.
The self film is difficult. So much gear needed.
When are you dropping the new Mathews bow. People want to know .
Do you know when the new bow will be revealed
I was looking at a new camera so I looked up what u r running and my wallet just cried looking at the price lol
What happened to the camera with the big screen on it. I thought that was dope but I bet it drained battery
What is the. Name of. That fouth mount. With. The fold out teeth
What camera arm is this . That's the only part of your system that you didn't tell us which one you use .
U need to buy that one bow that shoots steel balls and text it
I’m surprised he hasn’t reviewed the hoyt torrex
Whoever disliked this vid is a hater there’s no reason to dislike this vid it’s a great vid
Thanks for saying you don’t need the most expensive gear right out the gate.
How do u make an intro?
Damn, he looks like a 5th grade school teacher with those glasses.

When will your next video be
For real - how many times have you dropped a camera? 😬😂
Chris, please give me a bow of yours, I can't find them.
We should hunt together in Ohio sometime
Ay
I have been self filming since 1993
Where do y'all pee when you're in the stand all day? Asking for a friend.
