I bring a 3D target out with a buddy and we take turns shooting out of the stand all summer. One guys retrieves arrows and moved the target, and then switch. Does way more for me and my confidence than shooting at the range at a hanging bag target.
That’s the best and easiest way to explain arrow drop from heights. Seeing is believing! Shortens the learning curve and good fun at the same time.
When I first started Messing around with a bow at 12 my dad always said aim for the feet to get the meat. He would aim at the bottom of the deer to hit vitals out of a tree stand. Then I started reading on it and articles said bend at the waist. I always felt like I was going to fall out of the tree. I haven’t shot a bow for 25 years until this year. I bought a new bow to get back into the sport. Thanks for the tip about just having to keep shoulders aligned. Going to give it a try later. Enjoy all your videos.
The "cut" distance is based off a right triangle. The three points are you(the shooter), the target and the point directly beneath you but level with the target. The line from the point beneath you to the target is the distance used for aiming.
Imagine getting ready to climb a tree and a deer walks out 30 yards away, you use your 30 yard pin. 10, 20, 30 feet up the deer is still 30 yards away from the base of the tree, 30 yard pin. Same principle for shooting up hill. Has something to do with the the actual distance that gravity has to act on the arrow.
Well said
Love the energy and simplicity in this vid! Keep up the good work Chris🤘
Awesome video Chris. Never focused on aligning my shoulders. Thank you
Man practice how you play is so key. I found this out the hard way years back. I thought I would be slick and order some ASAT leafy gear for warm weather hog hunting in Georgia. Well, first opportunity I drew back from a seated position on a hog about 15 yards from me, so it was a steeper angle, and the leafy gear actually got in between the cam and the string. Got a little messy. After this I set up a permanent hang-on at my backyard range and I make a point to practice from it. Really cool you did a video on this, it is stuff nobody teaches the beginner.
Love your videos Chris keep up the good work
I was looking for this video last week. Thanks for putting one out
Have been waiting for a new video forever man! Keep em coming!
Great stuff!!! 🤩
love the vids glad your posting often again
Diggin the content man i can’t wait for your hunt films come our
shooting out of a second story window all summer and get the exercise up and down stairs. good stuff!
Well done video. Thanks for the great content.
Great video. Love the channel beeman always good info
Awesome Chris!
Good point about having the release ready. I blew a chance at a big buck because I had my wrist strap release folded back in my sleeve because of trying to keep noise down while I was ranging shooting lanes and didn’t want my release hitting the body of the rangefinder. By the time I got my release out and hooked, the deer was walking straight towards my tree, walked underneath me, walked straight away from me, then got my wind and booked it. I could have had a 17 yard shot perfectly broadside while he stopped to scratch his neck with his foot if I had been prepared.
I needed this vid a few years ago when I first started bow hunting lol I missed soooo much because I did not know how to shoot out of a tree stand
Hey Chris love the videos got the fletchings today love them even though the package says 36 I got 37 fletchings
Chris Bee best youtuber by far. Im saving up for the uv button now but i dont know if i want the grey or black. What one do you like best?
Great tips
Waiting very impatiently for some hunting vids!
Great tip with the shoulder alignment, seems easier to feel than bend at the hip.
Gear tips Chris! Thanks for the video!
Hi Chris I’m really greatful for your knowledge and information it’s been an amazing journey for me I’ve learnt a lot appreciate you very much I have a question? Can Chris shoot left handed? 😊 love your content Dude ❤✌️🤘👍🤙👊
Great device
Chris Bee new subscriber here love the channel when you go hunt on public land what do you look for first to decide what tree you wanna sit in thanks
Funny this video came up today. Missed a deer this morning because my peep was all jacked up
i had a doe come in at 20yrds the other day totally missed the shot went right under her belly, this video defiantly made clear some of the mistakes i may have made I've been shooting on level ground for so long i didn't even think to compensate for the angle and elevation change etc...
If you have a 4/5 pin sight I’m assuming you don’t center the pin but only center the peep around the housing
Love the videos bring the 3d back
What harness are you using Chris?
I love your videos is coooper still around
I want to order a beereal Bow Grip for my Legacy Matthews. But I’m unsure if it will fit? Just coming here to ask if it will fit older Matthews bows?
What harness are you rocking in this video Chris?
Is the TBR function on leupold range finders the equivalent of cut function on an archery range finder?
Good video Chris and company. I’m a fan of all your stuff, whether instructional or fun stuff. I know there are limits on length of videos, so the quick hits are good info.
I like the halfway up the tree comment about “proper footwear”. And the comments about “all about bow, bow, bow” once in the stand.
Bow placement is a good info, but I think you missed one issue. That is, placement of the safety strap. BTW….did you have it on? I didn’t see it tied off to the tree above your head. Always SAFETY FIRST whenever practicing or the real thing.
Don’t want to see anything happen to you or the crew.
What bow hanger do you use? I have a single hung unit and it’s not quite long enough to get out into my lap.
What safety harness do you use?
What HHA dovetail are you using for the double pin UV3 scope?
What bionocular/range finder case do you have on?
What harness do you use?
hello your videos are thrilling me a courtesy your compound is fanstatic model and brand?
Some people watch to see how to shoot from a tree stand, I watch to fangirl over either Mitch’s or Riley’s filming skills…..and Chris bee 😂😂
What was skillful about this?
@@usernamehere6061 I’m talking “in general“ not necessarily this video
What bino harness is that with the rangefinder pocket/cord
Please do a review on the new vertical stands please
What kind of arrows and tips are you shooting?
@Chris why don’t you use a sling on your bow so the bow does not fall out of the hand
What bino harness is that?
How about placement on a deer out of a tree stand
I use a Summit climber and they are good stands but eventually I would like to try a hang on
Watch that rail.string hits it and it’s a bad shot.
What bow hook is that?
🏹🎯
What I really want to know is expanding or Broadhead. I lost a deer this year hitting a rib and wasn't happy I'm thinking of stepping back in time to Broadhead. Please everyone I'd love to hear your feedback
Um...err...Chris...Um,...... You're still bending at the waist. Just laterally.....Never the less,...Notice, when you demonstrated standing straight up, your release was around the corner of your mouth (AKA: Your anchor moved). That is why so many people shoot high from the treestand. GREAT ADVICE for new & old bowhunters!!!👍
Get rid of the bow hanger and get a good stand mounted holder. Hangers are a thing of the past.
Biggest tip I have is when sitting in freezing temperatures for hours with large clothing either stay lose or lower your draw weight.
I wish there was a Chris Bee doing fun stuff channel and a separate Chris Bee marketing channel. Tree stands at that price point simply aren’t worth it. Invest in a good pack.
What brand of chess piece is he wearing on his chest?
Luapold
I genuinely feel bad for chris
Bro ever comment you make is so negative and don’t even make sense.
@@BerryMcCaulkiner859 I literally said I feel bad for the guy???
wheres the camera man ?
How are you not bending at the waist, when you are actually still bending a bit at the waist (*_*)
Yes, obviously with the shoulders but you still should bend at least a little.
If your standing, not as comfortable obviously, you will have full range of movement in the waist.
That being said, shooting sitting down is awesome.
Not the greatest advice. The reason you want to bend at the waist is because you want to keep your bow parallel with your torso. And being afraid you’re going to fall is just psychological. Do you fall when you’re standing on the ground bending at the waist? Of course not.
Vertical tree stand?? What does a horizontal tree stand look like? In my fire circle we call them hang-on stands
You are still bending at the hip. Too many people in these comments need to learn muscle groups and physiology
Dude the Mullet “trend” is for 12 year old kids, not grown 30+ year old men🤦🏻♂️💀💀💀
