Did you find any running issues? My sound fitted version stalls on any set of points. It also speeds up/slows down at random. Love the model but not impressed with its performance.
Please, let always Richard do these reviews - we can understand him! Thumbsup! Nevertheless, the factory speaker installation seems to be suboptimal - really tinny.
Gtrainsde having compared RUclips and real life, I suspect the tinniness is a function of the reproduction rather than the model. Based on a Bachmann Jinty I got for my father in law at Christmas.
I'm liswtening through a HiFi BOSE system so is it really as tinny and lacking in any base as it sounds to me? If so, presumably because of the "sugar cube" size speaker could a larger one be fitted in the tender maybe as that looked empty when you took it apart?
Hi Hornby Magazine team! I was just wondering what products were used for topley dale station (buildings or platforms) or suggestions for modelling stations?
@@tezzrexx Hi No nobody came back to me I did manage to buy a sound chip off ebay somebody was taking them out of the locos and selling them separately once I had the chip it was so simple to fit and your loco already has the speaker in took about 5 mind S to fit so your probably better having a look on ebay for one
Hi great video I brought the GWR version of this model from Rails as dcc ready I’ve decided now to go dcc but I’m having trouble getting the next18 sound decoder for the locomotive so I’ve emailed Rails waiting for a reply and I’m not sure if it will work with the Hornby select dcc controller any comments would be appreciated.
Random question but is there anyway to get the sound output from the chip into the input of a standalone amplifier and speaker setup? On-board speakers just don't cut it for me and thus I've never gone that route. Or, does anyone know of a standalone software/hardware package that can register when a particular train (DCC chip) is active and what it's doing so as to play separate sounds that work in time?
Sound insulation in the plastic body, side tanks, making the otherwise excellent sound protect sound tinny, like they all do, just experiment , may be well worth it..?
@@1701_FyldeFlyer Too be honest i find it no more difficult because when fitting sound, it will only fit one way. With larger models, you think i could fit it this way and then change your mind as you find another way... With n you find the best place then start grinding.
enjoying your vlogs lads and I wondered if you could help me to trace what happened to my broken right turn points.which I returned in February 2020 reference number 2020-HH-57564 I have repeatedly sent email but no response .😂😂❤️❤️❤️

Great sounds. I like it a lot!! It’s loud, but it’s accurate. Lovely!!!!

I think you might struggle to fit 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 in the tender of an 0-6-0T.

Hi Richard when are you going to start your layout
Already started ;-)

Got to be easy ,its oo gauge. Try fitting the same chip and speaker in a n gauge class 08 🤗
If you model in N gauge, you know from the off fitting sound is going to be more difficult.

Hiya, It might be worth asking Hornby Hobbies via social media as Hornby Magazine is a separate company I'm afraid. Hope that helps.
