Oh the things you could spend class time on when you weren't being held hostage to a one size fits all standardized test... Art, creative writing, posture...
Tommy, Mary and Jane were later executed after Jimmy staged a bloody coup, declaring himself Posture Emperor for Life. Great short, thanks for posting.

I came across this MST short flipping through channels around 1992 and was instantly hooked. It's great that they are doing new stuff now (RiffTrax and The Film Crew).
I'm a hardcore Mystie...started recording them on VHS when they first came to Comedy Central. When Penn Gillete was the voice for Comedy Central. Now I am working on my DVD collection. The Legend of Boggey Creek: The Legend Continues is one of my all time favs. So a very big AYE to you clambo !!! A very Big AYE !!!
In the opening host segment, the gang was staging a video for "America's Goofiest Home Videos" with Crow as a little girl atop a stack of boxes full of flammable pajamas. Servo provided the special effects...with a blow torch. Crow became extra crispy.
During the first broadcast I remember laughing really hard at "and truck like the doo dah man" but ya know, it was a giant champagne brunch. Don't hate.
"Okay honey I'm going to kill this tree if you don't stand straight!" "A tree plant shouldn't bend like that!" JOEL: "Then stop doing it!" My favorite lines from this short.
During the intro of this episode, Crow was talked into doing a video for TV's Funniest Home Videos- they were going for it's funny when you get hurt route. Crow got burned playing a little girl on a stack of boxes filled with flammable pajamas- Tom played pyrotechie for this stunt. :D
There is another episode, perhaps the next one after this, and they are still talking about this short. Either Crow or Servo says he wants to, "marry into posture."

Later that night when Mary was in bed, she saw Bonbo was missing from the dresser. Terrified that Bonbo went missing, Mary looked under her bed which gave Bonbo the perfect opportunity to strangle Mary to death when she wasn’t looking. The End
Luis Reyes Uh, no. Have you seen Poltergeist? I’m not referring to the remake, but the original 1982 version. The first depiction of a scary stuffed toy clown that I remember seeing was in that movie.
Actually it IS possible to straighten your spine completely, but you'd need something on you, of coarse it doesn't take tourture devices to do that. If you walk around with a "perfect" posture and something heavy enough to knock you down hits you on your head, it could shatter your spine, even if your head doesn't fracture and you survive.
"The voice-over guy sounds like the guy from the Empire Carpet commercials." He does sound like him...And I've watched the commercials plenty of times.
This film was made before they found out scoliosis was causing all the problems with posture. After this was discovered, public school students had to constantly endure scoliosis screenings at least once a day.
They had a self-help video for everything in the 1950's.
Posture started in the 20's along with sleeping with the window open. This was about the 10th posture film.
But not for minorities and spouse abuse.

+TanzDerSchatten amazing backstory
***** Thats a great backstory too
+TanzDerSchatten Jane loves trees.
Matilda Jane's parents were among the first of the hippies, chaining themselves to trees, and imbibing the sweet smoke of some unusual botanicals.
Mary wanted to be an actress.
It didn't pan out.
She overdosed on pills alone in a rundown motel in Tennessee at the age of 27. No one remembers her.
"Miss Martin, Tommy drew a bong!" is my all-time favorite line from this show.
I was such a sheltered kid growing up. I could have sworn the line was "bomb" until my mid-thirties.

That Bombo doll is horrifying... Did I once see him creeping around in a sewer shining lights at kids and talking about floating?
+MutantSentry Honestly, the idea that he HAS a spine is the most disturbing thing of all...
I think it's actually a Bozo doll.
Yes! He said it! "The...larch." I actually had to play back that part to make sure I wasn't imagining him say it.

My dumb school only taught me about Math and History and English, never posture.

+ghostofandy What I'd like to know is, how can you maintain good posture while practicing "duck and cover"?
Hold your back flat to the bottom of the desk
I went to school in the '50s, and nobody ever mentioned posture. Mine was terrible. Fixed it with ballet in my 30's.
@@chemdance In the mid 50's I had a first grade teacher that pestered us about posture. And coloring stuff only within the lines.

No wonder so many people dropped out of school back then and worked at factories.
I can’t stop laughing at this. Everyone needs a “posture posse”. 😂
"They're gonna take this for about a half hour before killing each other." LOL, I love Joel's dialogue

They still do this, they have a website called rifftrax. they do more resent movies now.
