10:45 Gum recession. I had gum recession and bone loss. The dentist tool measures 1-5. 1 & 2 are normal. 3 is bad. 4-5 are considered irreversible. I had a bunch of 3's, 4's, and 5's. I reversed all of it and got back to all 1's and 2's. How? Fasting. I fasted 5 consecutive days at the start of every month for a year. At the end of the year, I'd regenerated all the lost bone and gum.

I tried the carnivore diet but I had no energy & my sleep was horrible. I went back on fruits so I could sleep. I started sleeping great but I know all the sugar can’t be good for me. I have gum recession really bad & bone loss in my jaw. I love coffee but it’s hard to drink it black. Do you drink coffee? Today I’m 115 lbs 5’ tall

Were you cold too? If you couldn't sleep and had no energy that sounds like you weren't eating enough fat.
Try adding 100grams of butter to your first meal and 100grams of beef fat trimmings at the end of your second or 3rd meal.
That is an extra 1800 calories of food so it may be too much if you already eat over 2500 calories a day. But if you were only eating 1000 calories then 1800 should be fine for most people.

I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I have gone to a dentist. My last experience was horrible. He asked when was the last time I saw a dentist. I said about 17 years ago! He was not pleased by that answer. The hygienist proceeded to clean my teeth. Both the dentist and hygienist were both commenting on the lack of plaque, no cavities, and one cavity stopped the process of decaying. Then the dentist took over, he began cleaning my teeth by the time he got done I was in such pain from his cleaning. The pain lasted that whole day plus two more days. Obviously, he was quite annoyed by the way I cared for my teeth. I had developed 4 cavities in my late teens, when I began drinking soda. I noticed the correlation, so I stopped drinking soda. Since that time, I haven't had any cavities. Diet is extremely important in dental health.

The dentist said it was abscessed and had to come out! The tooth was loose but he ended up having to cut it into pieces to get it out!!! I am devastated!!! It’s humiliating to lose a tooth and now I will pay him $3,000 for a bridge to fill the gap! I am not a candidate for an implant!!! I have cried about this loss so much! It is hard to explain the emotion around losing a good molar!!! I keep thinking that I could have saved it some how and this diet may be how I could have! I really haven’t eaten “bad” for years but not enough of the fatty meats and raw milk. I knew about Weston A. Price for 25 years! Heck i raised four kids on a decent diet that we bought from farmers! I have chickens in my backyard and yet i still lost my tooth!!! I thought by going to a holistic dentist that I was in the clear! Chronic stress is a contributing pillar to tooth decay that is rarely touched upon. Four-plus decades of narcissistic abuse resulted in a litany of cascading health conditions. Provided one is taking appropriate care, guidance, and suggested interventions, the body cannot heal, let alone survive when cortisol levels are permanently elevated.

My back teeth were hurting from grinding teeth at night due to stress, I'm a caretaker and work from home too. After being carnivore for 11 days, the TMJ is much better and pain from all the 'comforting' sweets I was eating is TOTALLY gone! Sugar is not a comfort when your teeth hurt from eating so much, cake, ice cream, donuts, whatever soothed me emotionally. This is for me. I knew sugar was the problem with pain, cavity development, exhaustion, major weight gain and sedentary work, etc. I started at 218lbs and 5'8", haven't weighed yet and won't until it's been 3 or 6 months. I'm excited for how I'll look and feel a year from now. This is a true blessing. Anytime I think of going back, I remind myself that my Dad has dementia, I don't want that for my health, sugar is def part of that problem.

Too late for me on keeping wisdom teeth; all four of them came in at a 90 degree angle and were impacted, badly affecting all my other teeth. Had to have them removed 25 years ago, and sure don't miss the pain the impaction was causing.
My new dentist told me in June that my teeth are in excellent health (I'm a 70 y.o. woman), and he had to do only one tiny filling of the tooth I've always referred to as my "problem child" because of the tiny hole up behind it that has to be filled about once every 18 to 20 years.
I have a friend who loves---LOVES--to eat many desserts, she and her family, and she had to go through real torture earlier this year to get her two lower incisors taken care of. Many appointments, extremely painful cleanings, reconstructions, etc., and she can finally say her teeth are now secure in her gums---but she will not listen when I tell her her issues are diet related, and that the problems will come back if she doesn't stop with the heavy sugar use. She's 49, I'm 70, and she can't understand why my teeth are so healthy (ketovore for the last 3 1/2 years, no sugars!). Wish she'd pay attention, but I can't force her, and her husband would never tolerate her not making desserts and sweet snacks for (the family) every day 🙄.

Part of the issue of misaligned teeth is that if babies are bottle fed in their first year, they will most likely need braces later. The muscles in the jaw are not developed when the baby is bottle fed. Then when the teeth come in, the jaw is not shaped to have them come in straight. There’s not enough room.
Breastfeeding helps to develop those muscles and the teeth come in straight and there’s room for all of them.

@@thdmlnt5258 it’s called Himalaya Botanique. It doesn’t taste as good as Sensodyne or Colgate but it doesn’t have fluoride, which is important to me for the sake of my thyroid. The taste is not terrible. My teeth were even sensitive to air before I started using Sensodyne. The dentist would paint a substance on them which helped for a little while. Finally I was told to rub Sensodyne onto my molars and gums before brushing because the soft toothbrush was excruciating in a few spots. I used Sensodyne for many years, never rinsing it out as I was taught. I shudder to think how many chemicals and fluoride I must have absorbed through the tissue in my mouth. I used a toothpaste from my local health food store which contained the same de-sensitizing chemical but no fluoride (the lady at the health food store told me they would not carry any items with fluoride because it’s harmful to the thyroid). That worked as well as Sensodyne for the sensitivity but then I decided to try going without it…and no more sensitivity. I am sure it was the almost-carnivore diet, as my gums are in great shape now, too. I am almost 68. I have now weaned myself, very slowly, off my thyroid med and feel better than ever.

Unfortunately, these kids are not being diagnosed as having an airway issue and are being drugged with drugs with horrible side effects. Sometimes all they need is orthodontics. And as these kids grow up and become adults they have sleep apnea. As a dental hygienist I see this a lot and wish more dentists would be more proactive and spend more time on nutrition. @@johnnytsunami3558 I am thoroughly convinced that carnivore is the right eating style for me. I visited my sister in the summer and ate pizza and sad. Gained twenty pounds and lost it within a 2 or 3 week visit. I also ate sad over the holidays and felt terrible. I have been able to directly correlate eating carbs with feeling terrible on individual occasions. Carbs, at my age, are like drinking liquor. I have had occasions where habit overruled sense where I ate something. Usually when I didn't pack enough lunch, or when I felt stressed. Whenever I realize what I'd done, I take vitamins and take anti inflammatory and allergy medicines until I can get my body back to right in carnivore. I got upset at something a few days ago and I don't remember what I ate, but I did a complete 24 hour fast, ate beef last night and I am barely back into ketosis. I'll probably have another day of Advil Sinus and Zyrtec and vitamin B, C, etc. and Zinc. Until I get my body back to carnivore chemistry. I am doing well. The diet works perfectly when I do it. My knees don't hurt and my nose doesn't run. Last year my job was more stable, I could get up early and drink a couple quarts of water. Then I could eat meat. I drank the water on SAD my blood sugar would still spike and crash. On vegetarian my blood sugar would spike and crash. My biggest challenge comes when my sleep cycle gets interrupted by my job shifting my work shift. I have found that artificial sweeteners aren't that good for my system. Having an hour commute home 18 hours into my workday sucks. When that happens, I don't lose weight. When my schedule calms down, I'm Gucci. I think I am still alive and not hospitalized from doing the carnivore approach. I have also learned no eating at night, shift work, is good. Moving into ketosis I can fast on those shifts now. That's helpful. Couldn't fast a shift on SAD. My church has fasted sun up to one Wednesdays for decades. I know the difference in feel. I can go all day without ravenously and mindlessly eating when I get the chance to. I am convinced I have to stop eating sugarless candy, because I have improved enough to have me notice the little bit of bad it makes me feel. I have replaced that with saline mouth rinses and coconut oil pulling while driving. I will usually drive at a minimum 3 hours each day. Some days as much as 8. I had been eating sugarless candy and chewing the gum to stay extra alert. Oh and I had to learn to eat on my mucked up schedule. Interruptions to my schedule cause disrupted digestion and temporary constipation and requires delayed eating. I am a construction inspector. I had a few months of doing asphalt everyday. That gave me a stable schedule. My days were sensible. I got to eat and sleep on schedule. I am really hoping to get back on working asphalt this year so I can have a stable schedule for a few months. Have days that fit into 16 hours. 18 and 19 hour days, including commute, really really sucks the life out of me. So I am convinced the diet is right for me. I have a kid and have eaten carbs and felt the pain. I now understand not to eat that stuff. That it is a drug like alcohol. Makes me sick. And like nicotine that even after withdrawal, the habit pattern persists. So if I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I feel how it works. I know what happens when I eat other stuff. If you have the time to sleep regular and don't have interruptions to your bathroom access everything is great. I worked through that stuff. I hadn't considered your question before. This is just me thinking it out. Oh I am down 30 pounds with another 50 to go. I intend to lose 25 for my that for my birthday in the summer and another 25 for my christmas present. Then I will get a doctor's checkup.

I enjoyed the book! Great read! Same dietary vitamins as cardiovascular health (A, D3, K2) although beta carotene and CoQ10 are also required for cardiovascular health. Beta carotene is in grass fed butter. The book helped me further understand the importance of liver, fish and butter. Thank you!!

My wife and her father have the most amazing teeth. He is in his 70’s and both of them never had any cavities even though they eat plants, carbs snd sugar. Zero problems. I on the other hand had multiple cavities. I was on Keto for over the year and I noticed that even though I have changed my diet my gums were still bleeding when flossing. It occurred to me that this is some kind of deficiency. I cut down on plants and increased eating meat. There is improvement.

Since I've been keto and now mostly carnivore, I am realizing most of the professions we have nowadays are based off of banking on peoples mental and physical health declining from the SAD diet call me crazy but once you go carnivore you don't need a doctor dentist or therapist ( which I am training to become right now) unless you physically harm your body.

No cavities, all my teeth aside from a front top chip from an injury when I was 6. Not 100% where to account for it. Parents have teeth issues. I never have. Ate the same foods (mostly) until 30 or so. Practiced fasting and have leaned low processed and carnivore for 20 years but drank alcohol and eaten pod pies and lots of nonsense. Not a dentist or medical professional but when maladies sort of pop up in my life and even teeth, fasting and mostly carnivore has seemed to rectify and reverse trends in my health.

I have a question? I started eating mostly keto/carnivore diet. I have quite few filling due to eating horribly from my childhood. Now all my dental problems has fixed themselves, but I still get tarter. I did not go to the Dentist for about 3 years and recently went and had a teeth cleaning. I hated the feeling afterward the gaps in my teeth and they were sensitive for at least 2 weeks after. My question is should a person get a cleaning, or is it damaging the teeth?

A lot of this happened with the NHS dentists who got paid more for doing fillings. My Aunt's and her siblings teeth are just full of fillings. My dentist wanted to take out all my wisdom teeth. I went after school and he was running really late on a Friday afternoon. I sat in the chair, he looked in my mouth and said I don't think they need taking out. Lucky escape. Never had any problems with them.

I had 4 teeth removed so my upper eye teeth moved down from their vampire location and my wisdom teeth had room to come in...same for lower. This was around 1971. For the last 2 years 2020-22 or so I've taken d3 k2 daily. Didn't floss for over a year. Flossed recently and no bleeding, no puffy gums, nothing. There was no resistance in flossing. If I had done this before d3 k2 my gums would have been puffy, bleeding, and irritated for days.

I went carnivore 9 months ago. I had receding & bleeding gums before carnivore & started getting lots of cavities at 40 years old. However, now I have one bad pocket that is getting better. I floss 1-2x/day since carnivore to get the meat from between my teeth & out of that gum pocket. I brush 1-2x/day with fluoride free toothpaste. Recently the dentist said my mouth looks good, after not being to the dentist for 7 years. He did recommend putting a filling in that tooth with the gum pocket.
