    This series is getting intense! RIP loyal cleric. I'm really glad you break down each section of play, it makes it way easier to follow along for someone like me who hasn't played chainmail or od&d.

    RIP Baric, the Cleric! I personally use the AD&D DM's guide to make dungeons when solo playing, you end up rolling every few feet to see what's there! The only downside is that it never really ends.... So you could just roll it until you found 3 sets of stairs going down, or until you've reach your goal.

      I use that system as well, but I don’t think it will translate well to an actual play. We shall see!

      I am finding my own personal sweet spot with dungeon generation and find that same problem.
      I would love a video of possible solutions/ideas in generating a dungeon climax.

    Nooo the cleric! I was hoping that the spider would get less movement while carrying the poor guy...

    ULTIMATE DUNGEON TERRAIN

    Wow! Combat in this version is absolutely deadly!! Even with over half the spiders effectively dead and 3 people immune to damage the cleric died. In the beginning I felt like it might be too easy, one spell can potentially "kill" every single creature on a good roll and the enemy can't target the un-armored back-line. But needing two consecutive hits on ONE turn coupled with the abysmal chances to hit more than makes up for it. With just some basic math if your two best fighters attack the same target you STILL have below 50% chance of killing a spider (1/2 * 1/3 = 1/6 or about 17% chance). Absolutely brutal. My character in Pathfinder 2e recently got killed by a similar creature, on one turn he knocked him unconscious, dragged him away, and the turn after left the playing field. Suffice it to say this episode triggered my "ptsd" haha.

      Yeah it can be brutal, I’ve gotten better as a plate with strategy and using bf missile weapons. But it took a while, if you stick around prepare for much PC death 😂

    Great session. The movement really gets emphasized when a character drops! RIP loyal cleric! I'm looking forward to the dungeon crawl.
    Also, what was that what was that supplement you made called? I would love to recreate this solo session. I love the board game procedure element, while still having plenty of room for role-playing.

    If the treasure type was equivalent to a Dwarven lair, one could infer that it was say a dwarven ruin which were cursed/infested/occupied and the treasure was lost in the ruins or a reward for clearing it out. DISCLAIMER: Treasure actual present in locations may vary from past legends told and/or exaggeration. Surveyors/scouts are not responsible for undiscovered/non-existent treasures at locations or any lives lost while attempting to acquire said treasure.

    Interesting combat. I think ill probably use more modern rules for combat when i try this out. All those misses were frustrating!

    • @BanditsKeepActualPlay
      @BanditsKeepActualPlay  Год назад +1

      Sure, any combat you enjoy works. Keep in mind that every hit is a kill, so missing in this system is like a hit in regular d20, when you figure you hit every 2-3 times, with less tracking. Of course good or bad dice can really swing this type of combat as well.

    One could argue that the spider would be encumbered when carrying a heavily armored man. I might have lowered its speed to 9" at least.

    I was thinking that the map maker would be an npc that players could encounter, and once they reached said location, then a real dungeon crawl would ensue 🤔

    The battle with the spiders seemed like a real grind. What a time to lose the cleric, right before an undead crawl. I printed out eh Deck of Many Dungeons. Great tool.
