I just rode the front of Storm Runner on Halloween, hands down the best seat on the ride. Hershey has been my home park for my entire life, I absolutely love that other enthusiasts love it there too!

Always good to see Hersheypark. I grew up in MD and BEFORE they built King’s Dominion (yes, I’m that old 🤣) AND when you could still tour the actual chocolate factory (seriously old), Hersheypark was pretty much our home park. We went twice a summer because it was an easy drive. SooperDooperLooper was my first inverting coaster; gotta be fair, I thought it was boring even back then. 😂. The place has come a long way and that makes me happy.

I did Coaster Con earlier this summer. The Hershey portion of the event was about a week before Skyrush went down for the season. I was lapping Skyrush during night ERT (which included Candymonium too). Most participants were getting their 3-4 rides on Candymonium because even during ERT it had a line. I got 20+ rides on Skyrush in that time, with me taking a break to take a ride on Comet midway through that. I love Hersheypark but I can't immagine the park without Skyrush. It's good to have that enthusiast pleasing ride the GP don't tend to like if you need a pick me up.
Skyrush would probably be the best ride in the park if they gave it similar restraints to VelociCoaster, or Taron. As-is, I think I would prefer Candymonium if I ever went to Hersheypark.
@@me-myself-i787 Candymonium basically rides like a family mine train with inflated stats. It's the weakest B&M hyper I have ridden (and from a business perspective, it makes sense for Candymonium to be like this. What I find surprising is it's a hot take for me to say that). I would also say Candymonium is a bottom tier coaster for Hersheypark, just because their lineup is so stacked. It's not a "I've ridden over 300 coasters, B&M hypers have lost the luster", being that I've ridden all of the Cedar Fair installations post-my last ride on Candymonium. They were still amazing. Also I'll say the lap bars on Skyrush actually don't bother me as of 2021.
Went to Hershey park last year. Absolutely love it! Great bear, candymonium, and sky rush in my top 10 currently.
Great bear was incredibly overrated in my opinion.

Thats one of bad things about Hershey, the lines are just insane. But its testament to just how good of a park it is.
It varies really. Depends on what’s going on in the stadium. It’s pretty reasonable when there’s no events, don’t even need fast track to marathon Skyrush and Storm Runner. On event days, it’s beyond nuts.
It’s only that crazy on weekends, especially fall weekends. Summer weekdays can get fairly dead
Hershey Park is way too crowded for being so mediocre. That got quantity but quality is just ok.

@@mattdaaamon It's probably so crowded because its only real competition for the NYC crowd is Six Flags Great Adventure. And Hersheypark is a more premium experience than most Six Flags parks (except maybe Fiesta Texas).
Also, if it wasn't for those awful lapbars, Skyrush would be on par with El Toro imo.

Calling those ride times was exactly what Cedar Point was like all season long. Gemini averaged 45 minutes this season, GEMINI. It didn't matter the day, record attendance most days.
I know the crazy attendance is not Cedar Point's fault, but still, that experience this summer sent that park from my # 2 to out of my top 10. Still the best coaster collection, but way too crowded. Fast lane didn't help either, as those lines were as long or longer than the regular line.
@@OklahomaCoasterFan Staffing has hurt alot of parks this year. Several flat rides will be closed, sometimes they'll have 1 or even 2 coasters not operating and some restaurants will be closed as well which just makes the crowd seem much bigger then what it is.. I've been to a few parks this year and the only parks that seem to be running normally were Busch Gardens Tampa and Universal Studios/IoA. Next season most parks should be running much better, that's if they can get people to work..
@@OklahomaCoasterFan Also, the poor ops is Cedar Point's fault. Same with the lack of high-capacity rides which are comfortable for the GP. (There is only Gatekeeper, Gemini and Valravn.) Raptor has a brutal snap into the break run from what I've heard, Rougarou is rough, Magnum has uncomfortable restraints and bad transitions. SteVe, Maverick and Millie are lower-capacity rides.
@@me-myself-i787 Millennium Force is a high capacity ride, with 36 riders per train and 3-train ops. But it's also one of the most famous rides in the world. It's still one of the main reasons people visit this park. You're right about Raptor. That snap into the brakes is guaranteed headbanging, and several other moments can give headbanging. Rougarou and Magnum are both rough in different ways, and they are acquired tastes.

Hershey is such an amazing park! I visited for the first time this year and was blown away by how nice the park was . As others mentioned the only negative is wait times.

I went to Hershey on Sunday the 19th thinking Sky Rush would be closed. It was up and running. We rode it once. The only coaster that was closed was the boomerang and thunder side of lightning racer.
Wow you missed Skyrush by like a day, well done.
Just got back from Hershey park. All skyrush, Fahrenheit, and sidewinder were closed. Hopefully we can get to go back sometime and ride those

Yeah I heard you were there the day before I went. I was jealous because I didn't even get to ride candymonium, and I only got to ride 5 of the coasters there. I was at Kennywood the day you were at Hershey
My coaster riding has been pretty limited due to motion sickness and SooperDooperLooper is pretty great for that.
I only got 1 back row ride on Candymonium and it's my 4th favorite hyper.
For sooper dooper looper, ive noticed the back row is best. Decent floater over the drop and some of the last hills, and the loop is ridiculous, i have a friend who wasnt expecting the forces and folded in half XD. Still laugh about it lol

That's cool they have a pretty big fabrication shop in park.
First of all how did you get invited to this tour? Also I did not know that the shop had a section of it for each roller coaster. That is cool. Several years ago when I was a park employee part of that building used to be the utility shop for sanitation sweeps. Until later in 2014 we moved to another building closer to the parking lot.

went on a friday in early august and i also got 10 rides on candymonium (7 during the "dead" hr and 3 before park closing) since it was a ride on/stay on for a good portion of the afternoon. waited prob 50 mins for fahrenheit from ~1 pm which was my longest wait of the day. didn't get to try skyrush though :(

Heres one thing, the app for lines isnt always accurate, its accurate as of, when the last time a person reported it, and hershey doesnt send people to check the lines out to individual rides often just because there are so many. The wait usually still falls within 30 minutes of what the app says, but its rarely exact.

11:07 no it did snap lol there is literally photos and videos of the incident and them replacing the entire cable. Im sure the maintenance team is probably just told to say that did not happen per park management.
