This was a great video....I am eager to purchase this for my place. This was my 1st time to your page and I was so impressed...I have now subscribed and will be sharing with others!
I've had this same doorbell for a few years now. I like it so much I purchased on for our back door. At first it worked great. I've been having issues with it recently. On windy days I get notifications every several minutes. Today I had two deliveries and the Skybell didn't pick up either one. I reboot it, but it has become unreliable. I would love for it to work like it did when I first purchased. I'll be contacting the Skybell people again but not sure what they can do for me.
When I bought my new home it had a Skybell video doorbell already installed. From day 1 it's been a huge pain. It's difficult to set up and when the updated it took forever to get the update installed and working. Alerting me there's movement is very spotty and forget about getting real time video if someone is there. Trying to retreive stored videos is also very hit or miss. The iPhone app, the Gen 5 version, crashes constantly. I hate my Skybell so much I just replaced it with TAPO. My experience with Skybell has not been good, it's a terrible product.
The wireless Ring video doorbell is different then a wired skybell. If you want to compare them compare the Skybell to one of the wired ring doorbells. Wireless and wired can not compete.
@@jcig1501 A couple of vendors make battery powered video door bells. Ring has one. I think Nest too. We don't install them, so I can't talk to their performance/quality. I did find this one on Amazon that doesn't require monthly fees (if you use a SD card) and claims a battery live of 4 months. amzn.to/3ytBImc .
I'm glad I found this. The size seems to be good. My wired door bell button is mounted on the brick molding. Is this narrow enough to mount where our current button is? All the other doorbell cams are kind of wide. The only other potential problem is the molding is set back a little from the brick wall/siding. I'm wondering how much the brick siding will interrupt the field of view
You'd have to get the exact dimensions to make sure it'll fit where you want it to go. I think it would. And I don't think the molding would be an issue, because even though it's very narrow it does come out 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, so you should be clear.
Robert I bought the skybell slim 2 and the app won't let us login. I created an account at the website, and I can log in on the laptop, but the app rejects the username and passcode. Please help us. The camera is useless is we can't log in.
UPDATE- Just read online that the skybell HD app also works. Gonna try that one to see if it works. Gotta say, though, this is a very annoyiing process that has taken most of my wekend from me. Not digging this recommendation. I tell everyone about your channel, but this time I don't think this product is up to your usual standard. (the noorios are working great, though)
Follow up 2/8/23 ......this has been an absolute nightmare. Have called in an electrician to beef up the circuits on the breaker box (thinking they cams are not getting enough power), this didn't help. The app in the instructions is INCORRECT. Robert didn't answer me here or on twitter so I found a reddit thread that told me to try the Skybell app instead. This did work, and let us log in, but now the cams won't communicate with the app. I called the locay honeywell office and they will not talk to us, and said their hourly fee starts at $350 to come out to look. But they won't even do that unless we become a monthly customer with a contract. So, the takeaway is, THIS IS NOT A PLUG AND PLAY DEVICE. MY RECOMMENDATION IS *DO NOT* BUY THIS DEVICE.
The website says Honeywell on the product when you buy it. But when the box arrives the package doesn't have honeywell anywhere on it; it says RESIDIO. Then, the actual doorbell model is a different company altogether called SKYBELL. It's all very confusing and way too much trouble. Oh, and this one costs almost $200 for each doorbell, which IMO is very high. I dropped $500 for a lot of headaches and now have to go spend more on a totally new doorbell cam, and hope it works out okay. Not happy. Robert, this is not one of your wins. Sorry.
@@ltumbtc8102hey are at least 3 other imitation models. they are not genuine. they are counterfeit craps. Make sure you buy the Honeywell skybell slim.
Locksmith guy, does this Skybell unit have a soft pack battery inside? Because the older Skybell(round shape) had a 3.7 v pack that would go bad after a year or two making the Skybell an expensive paper weight. Thanks
I've just shot another video camera review and am in final editing. It's awesome! Requires no existing doorbell and the features are very good. I'll also have a discount coupon available for it. Be sure to subscribe and hit the bell icon so you will get notified when I publish it.
Your link is to the Honeywell version. Any advantages to going with Honeywell? I see they are available straight from Skybell also. Same thing? I also see "Trim II Pro" "Trim Pro" and "Trim Plus". Just marketing exercises? Specs on the skybell hd are slightly better. You like the trim because of the traditional design?
The manufacturer of the product is Honeywell, even when you buy it from Skybell. At least I think that's the case. They're identical product. I do like the Trim because of the traditional look. The only one we sell, and the one on my house, is the one in the video. So I can't attest to the quality of the other ones.
it never records a person walking up to the door or ringing the bell,,,but it will go off every time the wind blows my neighbors tree,,,every 2 minutes
It's nice looking but 1080P would be completely unacceptable to me in 2021(2). I have a Lorex with 2K (5MP) resolution, no subscription fees and it interfaces with my NVR for 24/7 recording. I also like the AI person detection that almost completely eliminates false notifications. Lorex also includes two shims that will allow you to angle the doorbell side-to-side, up or down, or both in case you don't have a parallel view of your porch. IMO the EZviz/Hikvision image quality is terrible, I don't know why you would recommend it.

It's not Dolby surround sound 🙂, but I've had no issues talking to and hearing someone.

Video is 1080p. Time delay is not noticable, but I don't have an exact number

I don't know. These old eyes can't tell the difference between 1080P, 2K, and 4k. They are all crystal clear to me. 🤷
I think a 1080p with this field of view would be more useful than a squishy fisheye 2k with bad night vision.
