Give me your style questions! I will be doing a Style Q&A video so if you have any questions on style, shopping, capsule wardrobes, etc just leave them down below!
Hi Emma, could you do something about shoes? I struggle to find a comfy pair that fits the style of my capsule. I mostly go with black. Maybe there are other neutral but more colorful options? Thanks for your work. I really enjoy your videos. The have helped me focus and pinpoint the look I really want.
I’m old enough, or my feet just need more support, where I can’t wear cute flats & heels much. I need shoes that are good for my feet (which cost more). I would wear more skirts & dresses, for every day, if I had more comfortable shoes that didn’t look frumpy. I’d appreciate ideas or places to find them.
Hi, Emma! I'm really enjoying your videos. I have a very classic style, but I struggle with not wanting to look frumpy. If you could do a video on classic style and how to jazz it up/make it more current that would be great :)
I have question for this rock fashion. Are there clothes that are for plus sizes?
Hi Emma. This is the first time I have seen your video. I like your way of explaining. I would like to know about the characteristics of bags with this style
Éléments of rock style, carefree and rebellious:
1. Moto jacket
2. Prints and graphics (plaid, animal print, band Ts)
3. Leather (jackets, pants, skirts and dresses)
4. Embellishments (studs, zippers)
5. Distressing
Love your new haircut Emma!
Thank you! My husband actually did it for me.
I’ve been growing my hair out for 2 years so it was well needed 🤗
@@DaisyGalStyling wow nice one! 👏
I think boots are one of the most important elements of this style - Doc Martens, moto or western boots give outfits the rock and roll vibe.
And of course a leather jacket + a black sunglasses
@@b-u5136 And an attitude.
lol only punks wears martens in that time but you can wear what you want theres no rules!!!
@@helenmudge9989 thats the most important thing thumbs up👍
@@b-u5136 cowboyboots band tees Long hair And a vtg Batman Tee 😂🤣
Thank you for showing plus sizes as well, this helped my fashion decisions!
Love how inclusive this video is - you showed how to make this style work for all ages and sizes using a wide range of retailers. Hope you will start posting again as I am subscribed but have not seen content from you in a while.
Hooray, I was so excited to see this video pop up! 🥳 I love the ideas for dressier options-since I can’t go I TOO edgy for work but still like staying true to the style. Such a good idea to cut off thrifted pants for the distressed look! As a super long-legged person, many of the great pants I find thrifting are too short anyway, so I totally do that just out of necessity! But it gives it a unique flair 🖤🖤
Romantic/feminine style, please. Thanks, Emma!
That one is next! I’m really excited for that one 🤗
Oh, I’m so excited! Thank you! I’m still tweaking my capsule. I put it together just for the month of May, due to WI weather, then will try another capsule for summer. What I’m finding that I didn’t expect, is that there are pieces I included to try to make myself wear, and I’m realizing why I never chose them. They seem like perfectly good pieces but just don’t work. It’s helping me declutter more (if I don’t wear them by June 1), and feel better about buying a few that will work better.
Maria Siegfried So true! It is so great to hear that you have been working on your wardrobe and figuring out what works and doesn’t work for you. That is the first step! There are so many great pieces and sometimes you have really good intentions to wear them when you first buy them. But if they don’t fit right or you don’t love them then you won’t wear them. And if you keep track of the things you discover then you can make better buying decisions in the future. I’m excited to hear more about your progress!
Really interesting and so helpful. I live in the U.K. but these are all ideas I can easily find online. I am really keen to find ways of incorporating more fun items into my outfits but without looking silly as I am in my 50s.
Jen that is me too, really struggle to change from oversized black tops and black jeans (which I love,) but would be nice to up the edge a little!
Amo que es como una masterclass para vestir como toda una rockstar 💓
I just found out I like Rock from watching this video! Thank you for giving me a name for what I love to wear: leopard, leather and lots of fun, edgy details.
i just discovered your channel and fell in love with it
Thank you! 🤗❤️ So glad you were able to find my channel!
I'd love a style me classic video
This was perfect thank you! I do own a lot of black clothes in my wardrobe but to make it work with this style is the best option thank you for the ideas!
Your distain for this style is hilarious 😂
I love my rock chick style, edgy, rebellious and the best style I've worn! A huge improvement from my indie days
Thank you for this! I have also thought about how accessories like a cool necklace can make a "normal" dress more rock.
Would love a video about artsy or eclectic! I struggle with a combo of artsy / classic within the overall confines of jeans and shirts :)
I would love to see a young professional or 30 something business casual/preppy wardrobe with a hint of boho thrown in for good measure!
Hi I really like your channel, it feels "normal", I can relate. I have a request, how to incorporate trends into a very classic style without playing only with accesories?
Thank you! I plan on doing a mixing trends video to tie this series together. I find that it is really all about mixing in a few pieces into your wardrobe. Take a classic look and change one element to add a different style. For example, adding a leopard print cami under a blazer and some dark wash jeans is an easy switch. Accessories are definitely not the only way to change up your looks. Would love to dive deeper into this one!
Emma Losey That video would be greatly helpful to me!
I second this! I want to own just a couple unique pieces in almost every category of clothing. I'd rather avoid having only plain clothes with a bunch of cheap, trendy accessories. I have been enjoying your flavor in your approach to capsule wardrobes, Emma!
Fly have a look at useless on RUclips. She has just recently done a video on this topic
You can absolutely make your style your own and I don’t believe that a capsule wardrobe has to be boring. I have a mix of so many different styles and still manage to keep my wardrobe minimal. A few great pieces is the way to go!
Hi Emma! I'm really enjoying your channel. As others have said, it feels like you've approached it from the angle of "normal"/attainable style for all shapes, sizes, and budgets.
Requests:
Style Inspirations from TV shows, movies, and literature.
Minimalist Style
More Polished Loungewear/Pajama Style
Romantic Style
Pin-Up/Retro Style
Petite Capsule Wardrobe and Styling Tips to Appear Taller
Just to name a few. ;)
I’m so glad that you are enjoying my videos and I really appreciate the video suggestions! It is hard to be creative during quarantine when I can’t shop or see other people so it is great to hear what you want to see 🤗
Style Inspirations from TV shows is such a great idea !
Band tee shirt cut and twisted or tied into a halter, denim with flip flops, hair undone.
So helpful! Thanks! 👍👍
Okay it’s been 2 years so I don’t know if you’re still up for doing another one of this series but if so, I’d like to see one on the rugged & untamed/jungle look (I honestly don’t know what it’s called but it has been my favourite kind of style since ages). Think Brooke Shields in Blue Lagoon, or Jane from Tarzan at the end of the movie, Nova from the original Planet of the Apes lol. I really want to incorporate those kinds of earthy messy elements to my day-to-day wardrobe without being mistaken as a hippie that wears a lot of loose and colourful garments. I think it embodies the dark, mysterious, feral nature of the jungle rather than focusing on the beautiful and flowery part of nature.
I need more style me videos
For the Style Q&A - do you have any advice on how to take a few months break from buying clothes? I feel like I'm constantly going round in circles with decluttering and buying substitute items.
Yes! I have the same problem and use to really struggle with this. Great question!
Rock is not a trend, it is a lifestyle.
Really helpful video Emma, thank you! Really enjoying your videos. 👍😘💕
I need to dress up my 4 yo daughter in rock n roll outfit for music week. Can someone give easy to do ideas which are pocket friendly ? She does have a denim blue jacket if that can be used in some way 😊 thanks
For the style Q & A video - What do you think of the closet apps like Lookscope?
Yes! I have used Cladwell in the past but they are no longer free. I will take a look at Lookscope and include that in the video for sure!
Chains, i think are important!
Yes! That goes with embellishments for sure!
Can't wear half these things in an outside concert event area where there is grass and alot of walking if you don't want to stay sat in your seat. Need emphasis on wearing your favorite band on a t-shirt, accessories, different types of jeans and different types of shoes for the occasion. Emphasis more of what is practical and comfortable as opposed to what looks good in a picture.
In my opinion, these pieces are not really rock style. Most jackets are not edgy -they are for older women in chic Style. Not for young girls/women. A leather pants and leather Jacket and Docs don't make e rockstyle/Punkstyle.
I LOVE YOU
What's your opinion on real leather? Should brands use them? Asking since I work on a brand and we are not sure if we should go for real leather or not, vegan leather is also very bad for the envoirment.
Leather, pleather dries out and peels and looks like trash. I've had to throw a couple jackets away, and won't buy faux leather anymore.
Buy vintage leather instead.
Real leather lasts a lifetime unlike faux leather.
pls nooooo!!!!when you are not taking that scene serious get the hands off from that!!!!
