  • CELEBRITY RIP Gone But Not Forgotten: "REFLECTIONS OF JAMES INGRAM!” BY: Syndicated Journalist, Wendy Wheaton. VISIT www.WendyWheaton.com For More Entertainment.
James Ingram had an infectious smile - and a deep laugh that would make anyone melt. He was just as nice of a person on the inside as he was outside - exemplifying his musical gifts as a singer and Producer. We will all miss this wonderful person, and the legacy of musical hits he has left us with.
In 2008, during the Michael Jackson memorial in Los Angeles, James joined me with excitement, as he reflected on his Music, and how he beat out 23 other writers when he created the 1984 hit PYT “Pretty Young Thing” for MIchael Jackson, (encouraged by Quincy Jones.)
Fly in the wind James Ingram, and every once in a while, stop to chirp and let us know that you are still humming.

Rest in Peace, James Ingram. This man could sing. 100 Ways - forever. And while he was handsome, his inside energy is what helped to make him the beautiful soul he was on the outside.

Sounds to me like James wrote that tune and the others put their name on it for the royalty (lol) James should have been a bigger star with a unique voice fashioned by God himself! Rest In Heavenly Peace Mr James Ingram ❤️

The only other person credited as songwriter on P.Y.T. is Quincy Jones. All the other versions were discarded, including Michael's (Co-written with Greg Phillanganes).

He was born in the same year as me in 1952
He had brought me so much joy when I'd sing and dance to his great music. I too miss him and Luther Vandross - two of my favourite male vocalists - so much soul! ❤❤

James should have been a bigger star but a star he was in his own right. Everyone knew him. James had those everlasting songs that still resonate today. I'm sitting here in my room in the hospital the day after hip replacement in my recliner thinking about (you) James Ingram, from nowhere I heard his voice singing duet with the late Patti Austin and pulled it up on RUclips to actually hear...
How do you keep the music playing with the late Patti Austin. It was beautiful just like the first time I had heard it and then it took me to duet with the beautiful and underated Mia from there to many of his other hits. I stumbled on this interview after reading the title because all these years I never knew that Ingram wrote PYT. I always thought MJ wrote that catchy tune. That was such a shocker for me and I'm sure it was to many others. That song still Rocks in 8/27/2021...
I was so sad when I heard that J.Ingram had passed away because I knew him and I were in the same age group. (Him born 2/1952 and I 9/1955) I said to myself that was to young to die and wondered what health issues that he had. That's a wonderful rendition that music never ends because it doesn't. Music lives forever💞 #stilllovingyoustillrockingyoustillthinkingaboutyou.
    RIP James Ingram
    My secret crush 😍

You said "the late Patti Austin". Somehow I missed that. When did Patti die?

@@springdaye4451 apologies out. Patti is still alive. The late was meant for James Ingram.

@@CoCoDon2012 Oh, I see. It threw me a bit when I read that. I think Patti is a great singer too and love her duets with James Ingram so it kind of hit me hard for min there. Thank you for the clarification.
