What happened to humankind? We are capable of producing beautiful things like this song, why we always try to find ways to destroy ourselves? Just listen to the type of music our children are listening today and the way people behave today.
Carlos Lopez i totally agree with you! Money and fame are the reasons I guess. If I could have picked a date I should have been born, I would have asked to be born in the 60's so that I have been able to experience the 70's hippie lifestyle. I was born in 1985, a little too late.
+Maria Edelyn Gunda agree with you... i also want to born in the 70's or before, i was born on 1992.. too late to enjoy a happy time with people that have no care about fame, and so on and so on.. :(

Mainly, the wealthy began funding so-called "conservative media in the 90s to stoke mainly the "wronged White Male" to the point where it blame and judgment takea over for being gratedul for your blessings and its only getting worse and people have normalized it. Now acting superior is admired, all the way from the White House down.

So sad to think Linda Ronstadt suffers from progressive supranuclear palsy and has lost her singing voice while James Ingram has died due to brain cancer in 2019, but somewhere out there they still sing together this song. We will sing with them for always. That's their beautiful legacy.
I lost my Daddy 5 years ago. This song still makes me tear up because we used to sing it together often.

Rest in Peace
Tears for both my lost young days and this perfect song.
Whenever I hear a song this beautiful and with as much meaning... It brings me back to a time when my parents were still here and everything was going to be fine, regardless of how bad it actually was. Sometimes, hearing "it's going to be ok" is all you need.
Remember my mom taking me to watch AN AMERICAN TAIL. This song is one of those special songs that bring you back to that time you heard it. Beautiful song.
my mother sang this as a lullaby when i was in her arms i still remember that beautiful night
yeah it was a night alright
I love this song! And I especially love James Ingram! His voice is so beautiful, not to mention how handsome and fine he was! Rest in Heaven! Your legacy will live on forever.❤❤❤❤
Great duet. Linda Ronstadt is the greatest most versatile female vocalist of her generation.
Lovely song! 👏👏👏👍👍👍
May James rest in heaven and best wishes to Linda in battling her disease.
Rest In Peace James. Thank you for giving us such inspiration thru your songs

So true
This song makes life easier and sweeter. Linda and James are incomparable!
The instrumental in the beginning ALWAYS gets me. Such a nostalgic sound. I’m crying. 🥲
Love this song and loved the movie.
This song is so beautiful. James Ingram and Linda Ronstadt are two great legends. There voices really compliment each others and that is what makes this song so memorable. RIP James and God bless you Linda. :)
2022 and I'm crying my eyes out.
😔
These 2 voices are a TRIP TO THE HEAVENS!!!!? ❤❤❤❤
This song out-Disneyed Disney. Probably the greatest movie theme power ballad of all time.
Its sad Top Gun beat it at the Grammy's back then. :(
What happened to humankind?
+jahe kunyit you know what?todays music is bull shit ...... full of crap and full of non sense todays music is a trash or a garbage .......
What happened to mankind? Mainly, the wealthy began funding so-called "conservative media in the 90s to stoke mainly the "wronged White Male" to the point where it blame and judgment takea over for being gratedul for your blessings and its only getting worse and people have normalized it. Now acting superior is admired, all the way from the White House down.
I feel the same way my brother. I wish and dream for that life for my children.
This song.. this movie.. pfff my heart😢
I was a kid when An American Tail came out. Both the song and the movie bring tears to my eyes.

1986: This is a good song
2021: This song is so emotional!! 😭
THIS MOVIE IS AN INSTANT CLASSIC! 🥺 (hugs for everyone)
It “was” an instant classic. Lol And today it “is” a classic. That’s how it should be said.
I saw an American tail yesterday and I have one thing to say about it....
IT WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@netflixfan8940 glad you enjoyed. I loved it the first time I saw it and the second one. The second one will always be my favorite because of Tanya singing "Dreams To Dream." I don't have very much interest in the third or fourth ones however.
This song and movie was my little boys favorite movie.
My son only wanted his family .
RIP Nathan 🙏 💙
36 years ago, I gave up a daughter for adoption. The day they took her, I heard this song, and made it mine for her. How many years have gone by and I've seen her in pictures that her adopted mother sent me. But she moved to another state and I haven't seen or heard from her since. It breaks my heart because she is estranged from us and I don't know why. But I'll never give up. I still love her with all my heart
Can i have a show of hands if you're still listening to this in 2020
James Ingram will be in my iPod, anywhere my music is, he will be there.

I used to listen to this song as a kid and think about my dad I never knew, now 30 years later we reconnected ... x
Praise be to God the Creator of heaven, earth and us, as well. He created us in Our Mother's womb.
💞💞
this song makes me thing also about my dad, he said when I was 8 " be right back " and the last time I saw him... makes me thing if he still out there...
A beautiful song with two great artists - loved hearing it again.
Just came back across this song. It just hit me like a truck after losing my Father last Dec. 😢😭
Very meaningful song for this polarized world. ❤
Merica is polarized, not the world.
@@ir8free Antarctica is polarized - and some bears.
Had this song on vinyl in the 80s. Mom bought it for when was a kid, one of my favorites. Wound up wearing it out. Mom died three and a half years ago, sure do miss her. R.I.P MOM. Till we meet again
Leland Sklar on bass guitar, Russ Kunkel on drums and Steve Lukather on electric guitar. 3 great legendary session musicians!
Oh man, I just got done watching some Jackson Browne with them, and for some strange reason this song pops into my head. I had no idea they played on this recording.
@@privateparty5616 They also played on the song, "If We Hold On Together" with Diana Ross. It was for the 1st The Land Before Time movie.
Leland and Nathan probably played bass on every album
Ever
Dude. Didn't realize this was a Sklar track.
@@kennyleo08 If you haven't already done so, you gotta check out Leland's RUclips channel! Awesome stuff he's been posting since the beginning of the lockdown.
This is one of the greatest songs ever written , and performed by two of the greatest ever.
Real people singing real words with real emotion...beautiful.

@@bribear0030 good thing that I was born on September 23rd, 1997.

Man this song takes me back to randomly waking up at 3am with the TV playing an infomercial for a CD of love ballads.
thanks for loving me Grandpa I miss you 💔🥺
Music from the 80s got so much good meaning. I'll have to say one of the best decade of music. So sad some of these people were gone. RIP James Ingram.
first time I heard this i was 12 years old in 1986, I'm 42 now songs like these used to not bother me but now I cry when i listen to it , just the older I get the more soft hearted I am
William B I would have been 5, and im nearly 37 and it makes me cry when I watch it myself just like I did earlier today, couldn't stop for ages
I am almost 32 I cry listening to this one too
William B Same here. Just cried like a baby thinking of my childhood.
I’m almost 50 and I sob like a baby. Might be because I’m still wishing there was someone out there.
It does hit a nerve doesn't it??
James Ingram is such a talent.
Quem gostou dessa linda musica da década de 80, deixe um joinha, saudades das lindas músicas dos anos 80, elas nunca mais sairão da nossa mente, infelizmente ele JAMES INGRAN nos deixou o ano passado
Wellll...I am gobsmacked and teary-eyed. I'd forgotten the power of their vocals here.
To this day I can’t listen to this song without losing it 😢😢😢
One of my all time favorite songs, sung by two of my all time favorite people. ❤😊❤
It's a shame that this film is now considered offensive - what a croc - what is so offensive about belonging to a family - I applaud Linda and James for their participation in the making of this movie - their talent make this song great!
Communists are never happy. Enjoy the show.
With this song I think of all the lost people who were never seen again who were kidnapped murdered buried etc and who have never been found...
a hug to infinity
