About dragon flags. I learned these this summer from a gymnast. And he spotted me by holding my feet as they came down and grabbed them having me hold the flag position with his assist. But what you do here is also great training and you will make progress and succeed.
@@jamest1157 This is a great tip, James. I have a dragon flag training, today, so I will ask folks to spot me. It sounds like something worth testing. Thank you for that, mate
@@MikeGrezl Training partners are always great and fun to have. This summer I learned a lot about abs training from this gymnast. He took hard punches to his 8 pack as part of his insane abs training. He even took punches while holding a dragon flag. It's amazing how hard abs get holding a dragon flag. His abs are rock hard and even more so in that position. You motivated me by the way. Have a great Sunday.
Training your abs so hard will definitely give you rock hard muscular abs. I've come to really love abs workouts. One of my 2 goals is to take 100 full power punches in under 3 minutes to my abs (maybe held in a full nelson) by my 25th birthday in the summer of 2025. It's been grueling so far. One of my training partners (who is more muscular than me btw) moved into my house this past weekend as his lease ends in December and he leaves the state in July for work. He wants to help me accelerate my abs punch goal before he leaves town. I feel like I woke up from doing lazy routine workouts this summer to wanting a lot more. Seeing a shredded muscular gymnast working out was the kick in the pants I needed. Turning 25 in 2025 just seems huge to me. I wrestled 6 years through high school and did 2 years of volleyball in college and I'm naturally lean. I grew up doing daily push ups and sit ups with my older brother because my dad is in the Army and made us start young. This summer was the most fun I've had working out that I can remember. I love what you're doing. I also want to work on doing front levers--the gymnast taught us about the false grip which makes a huge difference in front levers. He also does back levers which hurt my shoulders just watching him. Keep it going!
@@jamest1157 If this is real, what I am reading right now, I believe you are on the right path to get the most out of your physical potential. Keep in mind, not everybody is that driven these days. Even I sometimes struggle with staying on the track. Your story is inspiring for me, so I feel like I have to give you answer on this. Would you like to hop on a call next week?
@@MikeGrezl I've given up on my 2 goals. Last night was my last time to take hard punches. I made these goals based on how I grew up doing sit ups and the number 500 was always a hard goal. And I realized that I was avoiding so many other great ways to train abs that I gave up that goal. The other goal was seeing Anton's amazing abs and how fucking strong they are. And when he let us throw hard punches it was kind of a wake up call for me. He taught us how to breathe on impact. I have strong enough abs that his breathing technique helped me take a few very hard punches. And so I got the bright idea to make taking full power punches in under 3 minutes my goal. But every Friday night I get beat up really bad. It's true I'm getting a lot better at taking hard punches but it is a high cost. And I cannot take 100 full power punches in 30 minutes not to say in under 3 minutes. In some ways I was under a spell seeing that gymnast train and especially his abs. But I need to find training to is HEALTHY for me and will help me in better ways. I hope you don't think I'm now less driven. I'm not. But I need to rethink my training. The cost I'm paying every Friday night for months has been way too much. I'm very sore this morning but have to help a friend out. And sorry to deflate your bubble. I don't feel I'm giving up as much as waking up to unhealthy abs training. Have a great weekend.
