This is what Andromeda should've been. The amount of quality in this production, from writers, Drew Karpyshyn, Peter Hamilton, and art design from Tim Miller....Did i say Tim Miller? Also, Albert Einstein's "theory of relativity" and the use of time dilation, like in Interstellar, is a extremely interesting concept for an RPG Space Opera. Love it!
Just read Livesuit by James S. A. Corey, which hooked me on the idea of time dilation in sci fi, definitely gonna check out the Exodus book, and SOOO excited for this game
I'll be buying this just because Peter F Hamilton created the universe. He's my favorite Sci-fi author and I just started reading this book. I can't wait to try a video game built in one of his worlds!
Ever since Interstellar I've hoped for such a setting. The gut punch you get in that movie as he comes back and says goodbye to his daughter on her deathbed is beyond compare. If they can do something even a fraction of that level of emotion I'm sold. Hopefully EA doesn't sue them over the Mass Effectish look and gameplay :)
Watched late due to real world commitments, but definitely worth the wait, I hope Tim gets his wish to have a movie set in the Exodus universe. I am so hyped for this game, I met the author on the Exodus book tour he did, and seeing the trailer and secret level episode makes it even more exciting.
WTF just happened? I rarely caught Cohh going live because of time difference here, and Exodus came out of nowhere, with Cohh without his hair. That feels like a dream, especially when normally I'm supposed to be in deep sleep by now. Was that some kind of time dilation or something? Like, seriously, WTF?
Missed the stream. Today, started the VOD, saw the intro video and literally cried. This game already have me on high feelings from the get go. I NEED this game ASAP.
Cohh you gotta read the book. I just finished it and it's hands down one of the top 10 scifi books I've ever read and I've been reading scifi for 20 years. Once you read the book the hype for this game will go through the roof. This universe is insane.
😮😮😮 Amazing interview. Wow, they actually dropped other IP names and didn't censor that they worked for Bioware, and leaked little tidbits that their team might hound them for. What a rare treat for devs to not give an interview like they're corporate hostages! 😀 Tho it probably helps that they're well connected. 😅 The authenticity here only makes me more excited to see more. So cool that there's a book, I'll have to check it out! Not to mention secret level. I would LOVE a movie, Tim Miller! I'd love to see an epic sci Fi movie that isn't another remake. One that incorporates cutting edge science and recent quantum/cosmic theory, excellent world building, with a relatable human story and great characters that is well paced and focused on the adventure of exploration but the consequences of the nature of relativity. And if James Cameron was interested in the project too? Yes yes yes. 🙏🏻
As I've watched the trailers and heard what the devs say and also currently reading the book, I'm also getting a distinct flavour of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I don't know what it is exactly, but it's definitely there. Shouldn't be surprised though considering James Ohlen, Drew Karpyshyn, and Chad Robertson all worked on the Old Republic IP
I’m hoping the developers see this because after watching the secret level episode like twice I could easily see that entire story or a story like that told over a period of 2 to 3 hours just because there are so much involved in the story and it would be hard to pack that in to anything less than 2 to 2 1/2 hours just to give the story proper justice. I could even see extending an entire story like the book out over a period of an animated TV series detailing the war between humans and the Crown Dominion, or even detailing a war between the Crown Dominion and the Mara Yama in which humans kinda get caught in the crossfire a little bit because the Crown Dominion discovered that a lot of what happened in the book might have been directly caused by the Mara Yama or the Mara Yama we’re framed by one of the other dominions without giving anything else away to the story so that people could go read it. By the way, you said that Exodus had one cliffhanger at the end of the book but in reality if you look at it, it actually has three cliffhangers. Because you have the big one at the end, the other big one at the end cause you wanna know what happened to the one guy and then what happened to the crown Dominion and the queen herself. Again, I tried to hint at this, just in case some of y’all haven’t read the book yet, but seriously read the book. It takes a second to get through the first chapter, but that’s because they need you to understand specific details that you were definitely gonna need later on in the book so pay close attention to the list of names and participants in history because those names will come back down the road at several intervals
Wait...if you can only take 2 companions with you on each exodus, does that mean the ones you don't take with you are dead by the time you get back? So you have to get new companions each time you return to home world? That would be kind of crazy, to recruit new people each time. Not necessarily good or bad, just...very unique. I'm getting excited for this game, honestly.
from what i got the missions dont last 100 years each..sometimes its 2-years then 12..some longer...one from a trailer was over 100..seemed like one of the last...the traveller was alone then..
@@TheNakorius I'm glad you get to keep your companions, for the most part. Seeing the bond between Shepard and crew helped give a lot of depth to Mass Effect.
