totally agree with Asmon saying most people don't understand numbers. I used to be on a student committee for years, discussing budget. Soon, I realized that people's understanding of money ended at 1000$. That is it, 1000 is the biggest number most people can still easily understand. They would have 30 minute detailed discussions about proposals that asked for 200$, but as soon as you went above that 1000 mark, the discussion went under 5 minutes. The vast majority of the committe wouldn't even participate in the discussion anymore. It seems crazy, you'd think it'd be much more, but it's not.
I’ve found people are VERY smart within their wheel well of knowledge. A trucker with an IQ of 85 and 20 years experience will know more about maintaining his truck and driving it in dangerous conditions than a 180 IQ genius who read a book on the topic. But people tend to think their knowledge and ability to do what they’re comfortable with also extends to other things. It does not. The intelligence of people outside their narrow pockets of knowledge tends to be laughably incompetent, and for whatever reason, most have no desire to expand their thinking to include these new avenues.
I know. First hand. Same with just personal finance. I think why the man I married is so financially disciplined and frugal, is because he comes from a wealthy Christian family that didn’t believe in borrowing or showing off. And every buck matters, after 100, 1000 or 10000. Just because you have more than you usually do or acquire money to manage than usual doesn’t mean it should be treated as throw away money.
Every person cheers when their own team moves on, which means another team doesn’t, but then they have a conscience when they as an individual cause others to lose. The teams don’t stay the same, so this teamwork mindset that causes people to not take the bribe is insane (especially the one at the end of the 2nd episode).
Gotta love all of those narcissists in the beginning DEMANDING that somebody else press the button so their team can progress. I have a feeling they spend a lot of time on Twitter.
@acidfronn6007 it's an insight into their poor character. Dignity is more important than the extremely unlikely chance that you'll win this competition.

True. I don't think I could have waited that long though. Hindsight I think 50k would be a great spot as well. Not too risky to wait that long and a ton of money. I would have been one of the first 52 or the first 50k myself
Without watching any more of the show, the 52 people who left for 19~k are probably the smartest people competing. Most gameshows you never get anywhere near that unless you're one of the very few winners.
Yeah with the game supposedly going on for a month imagine sticking out all that time losing that month of pay and then getting eliminated in the last episode, walking away with absolutely nothing.

Nah, Asmongold is wrong. He thinks this is still reality TV. Where the sets do not matter and it is all about people crying and drama. But the videos of 1 dollar vs 1 million experience are the top ones in views. Also, people don't like seeing other people cry. Not because of anything to do with morals but because it is just annoying to hear them cry.

It's simple math. As long as there are less than 400 people sharing it, it's a win. The dude who immediately presses the button with the wife still in the game is absolutely a no brainier for him; he can cash out first while his wife still has a chance to win.

Oh, and the self sacrifice game..it was actually over in 12 seconds... The psychology behind that game was actually so fascinating.. if you watched Episode 0, from Vegas, we got our Beast numbers from the flag game.. sooo the lower numbers 1-400/500 were the strong willed, go getters, and the athletes..so OF COURSE 1-400 didn't want to self sacrifice! We were doomed from the jump, based on consequences from PREVIOUS DECISIONS! This show was like Dark Souls, man.. EVERY choice you make will affect you later!

It's just so dystopian to see the host literally standing on a pile of money while bringing out the worst in people, whether they compete because of desperation or greed 😅
@nonono9194 I'm talking about the lying, betraying and how the competing people will most likely start hating each other in this show. Obviously I'm aware what people are capable of.
It's nice to finally see Mr Beast lean into the whole "evil rich guy who exploits poor people for content" angle instead of beating around the bush and pretending to care about people.
Yes not more pretending to care by paying for people's hearts surgeries when in reality he just wants to capitalize on people's suffering. Now he's no longer doing that pretending shit and capitalizing directly.
I mean he literally stole the concept from a popular TV show that is set in a dystopian and evil world. Also the real world is a dystopian eerie place for God's sake one of the most popular youtubers in the world is a blatant psychopath this is the world we live in.
To be fair. It’s literally based on squid games where the entire concept is a Corporate dystopian drama that delivers entertainment to the elite. It is gross, but boy is it fun to watch. When money is your God, morality no longer is of consequence. When you have a giant corporation like Amazon funding and rewarding the greediest people for the entertainment of an Elite member of society like Mr. Beast, it kind of writes itself. If anything it should be a wake up call to the US and why so many people are absolutely willing to sacrifice their morals for 20k. 70% of the nation is living paycheck to paycheck. I’d be grovelling on the ground crying too, not because I wasn’t the one who won 5 million, but because I missed my opportunity to make 20k to someone who figured it out before myself.
He's really embraced it. I remember when he had this cold soulless look in his eye, especially when he tried smiling. I didn't expect his genuine ear to ear grin would be worse. The guy's chosen evil and learned to like it.
We have a show in Spain called “ahora caigo” in which contestants also fall like that if they are eliminated. But contestants are aware it is happening and you’re required to place your feet in a certain position. Also, you need to remove your glasses if you wear any. So I’m guessing contestants would’ve known they would fall if they get eliminated? If they didn’t and they’re just dropping them without their knowledge it could be dangerous.
Humanity is a mix of normal people and psychopaths aka NPCs. The NPCs don't have a conscious, no soul. They're the reason the world sucks they're the reason normal people become cold and calloused and adopt the same behaviors as the NPCs because evil and selfish behavior seems so normalized. Don't be like the NPCs. Keep your soul intact. Love people. Leave the hate to the soulless psychopath npcs they have more than enough of it for all of us.
I will always love humanity even though there is a significant amount of individuals that might give me reasons not to. However I believe the world needs all different types of people even if sometimes it's just to show others how heinous some individuals can be to give those whom are lost a glimpse of who they shouldn't be as I imagine not everyone is born with a calibrated moral compass. So do you and express yourselves as will I. In contrary of such perception.
Also consider that in this moment, the participants are not using their thinking brains, rather they are using the amygdala rather than the prefrontal cortex, with the former being the lizard brain that makes split second decisions versus the cognitive brain, which actually reasons logically
There’s a mathematically correct solution for deciding whether you should bail out to share the prize pool of a million dollars before the actual games began. 🤓 With a $5e6 prize pool and 2000 contestants, we can quickly calculate the expected return as a contestant to help put things into perspective and stay realistic. Assuming each contestant has a roughly equal probability of winning the 5mil (a bold assumption but nonetheless a fair one given the variance of the sample size), Expected return, E = 1/2000 x 5e6 =$2,500 per contestant Introducing the $1mil prize pool for contestants who bailed out, their return for doing so is Return, R = 1/x • 10^6, where x is the number of contestants that bailed out You should bail out when R > E, but note that E becomes variable since the number of people bailing out changes the expected return. R = 10^6/x > E = (5x10^6)/(2000-x) Solving for x, 1/x > 5/(2000-x) Since 0
Pardon me, the title says 2000 people but the video actually shows 1000. But the math still works out the same by plugging in 1000 people instead. As long as there are 166 or less contestants that bailed out, you should be part of the group. Even in the worse case scenario of all 166 contestants including you bailing out, you would still receive $6024.10 (rounded to 2dp), which is a LOT

The game is LITERALLY... A GREED and SELFISHNESS TEST.
1. Those who aren't selfish or greedy walk home with nothing
2. Those who are selfish walk home with something
3. Those who are greedy have a chance to gain more but run a risk of getting fcked over by the selfish ones.
I mean if you're given 20k, 50k or 100k, take it. It's literally free money.
This show is made because of how broken the system is.
Thats one of the most entertainng things about the show. You should be selfish. These people are not your friends they are opponents. The people who sacrificed to get nothing were dumb af 😂
Less after taxes
And there is nothing wrong with that. He can use that money how he pleases.
I would probably take 20. These people are nobody to me, so why not. And it’s also risky to wait until it’s 100 - no need in such amount of money and I don’t want to be a part of whole competition 😆
If all 1,000 people taken the split $1,000,000, that’s $1,000 per person. So you were guaranteed $1,000, and any less people didn’t choose to take it, you’ll get more
That first challenge would've been more interesting if people didn't know how many clicked it before the timer ran out.

totally agree with Asmon saying most people don't understand numbers.
Wait what
I’ve found people are VERY smart within their wheel well of knowledge.
Just because you have more than you usually do or acquire money to manage than usual doesn’t mean it should be treated as throw away money.
wtf are you talking about
Every person cheers when their own team moves on, which means another team doesn’t, but then they have a conscience when they as an individual cause others to lose. The teams don’t stay the same, so this teamwork mindset that causes people to not take the bribe is insane (especially the one at the end of the 2nd episode).

There’s a mathematically correct solution for deciding whether you should bail out to share the prize pool of a million dollars before the actual games began. 🤓
With a $5e6 prize pool and 2000 contestants, we can quickly calculate the expected return as a contestant to help put things into perspective and stay realistic. Assuming each contestant has a roughly equal probability of winning the 5mil (a bold assumption but nonetheless a fair one given the variance of the sample size),
Expected return, E = 1/2000 x 5e6 =$2,500 per contestant
Introducing the $1mil prize pool for contestants who bailed out, their return for doing so is
Return, R = 1/x • 10^6, where x is the number of contestants that bailed out
You should bail out when R > E, but note that E becomes variable since the number of people bailing out changes the expected return.
R = 10^6/x > E = (5x10^6)/(2000-x)
Solving for x, 1/x > 5/(2000-x)
Since 0
Pardon me, the title says 2000 people but the video actually shows 1000.
Funny how some specific people always say it will help people around them but we all know what they’re going to do with it.

Could you imagine if when they were showing the people talking about what they would use the money for, one of them said something completely unhinged like "I have about uhh 17 speeding tickets. This'll help me pay off those and the next 17" or "Slaves ain't cheap these days"
😂😂
Thihi, can you imagine them saying pee pee poo poo and forget in edit xD xD xD 😆
Your so great irl I bet. You only have smart and intelligent things you would spend money on unlike the other 7 billion people in the world
wait but if "slaves ain't cheap" aren't they just not slaves at that point if you're paying them?
@@TheseusDaKing I would buy a sand
He makes regular people look like sims everytime the cash money appears on their head.
“I left my wife and 3 year old son” at 17:34 is CRAZY work
Every time they push the button, an Amazon warehouse employee is crushed by a falling contestant
"If 50 of you take the deal, you walk out with 20k"
miraculously 52 people take the deal. lmao.
yeah that was "totally not scripted"
Fake like all his stuff @@odenkaz
@@odenkazit’s all scripted, even the lines are scripted, that’s why they pick the same people every time.. and some contestant you will not even see before they are eliminated 😅
I don’t know how can someone even assume this is not scripted, maybe I just don’t watch shit like this and can identify bullshit when I see it easy? I don’t know
@@hypebeast5686 meh
That 100k offer might be the best offer people coylda taken
See I think a funny twist would have been, the person who pushed the button, still causes their team to lose but they stay in the game and the people in that row get to split the money. You reveal that at the end so all the sharks are stuck playing the game but now they have a huge target on their back.
Strat for tower part was definitely do nothing and wait the timer out. 100 towers will (and did) fall, and you have made 0 risk of your blocks going anywhere
Hindsight is 20/20
In the bts it shows that the actual rules are more defined and include that your tower has to be built when the timer runs out
good lord why do grown ass people behave like toddlers?
Because they are paid to act that way
Think about it they aren’t even good at acting
Most grown people are barely sentient my bro
@@bilbonuggs1567 Nah people actually behave like that, that's the problem. The amount of adults in this world who haven't made it past terrible 2 phase of life is just mind blowing. I'd say it's a 1st world phenomenon. Life got so cozy and comfortable you are no longer forced to grow up anymore. Makes me grateful life has been harder for me because I had to grow up very quickly.
You put 100 bucks down, you can get some people to act in any way really. Now imagine 5 mil.
Like beasty boy said, that is pretty much generational wealth especially if handled right.
Are you an adult yourself and do not know adults are kids that can legally (and arguably can afford) to have kids and have to work instead of fooling around?
Normal people watching Squid Game: It's disgusting how poor and desperate people are preyed on and exploited by the ultra wealthy for entertainment purposes. This is clearly a criticism of capitalism and how the poor are exploited in the real world.
Mr Beast watching Squid Game: YO THESE SQUID GAMES ARE A SICK IDEA LEMME MAKE MY OWN VERSION
swear to God if all 1000 hit their buttons for the million it would have been the funniest moment in TV history ever.
"ok pack up and lets go home i guess guys"
1000 dollars each.. Well its better than nothing 😂
And risk it that 1 of them would not press and instantly wins the game!
Imagine taking weeks off work to come to this only to get taken out by something out of your control.
I saw a clip where a ton of contestants said they left their jobs for this lol
alternatively, imagine pressing a button and earning 100k, for doing almost miniscule amounts of work. Influencers have to work harder than that black dude at the very end lol.
@@libervitaexaltis4551 20k.. Before its taxed a single time more like 12k then its taxed again with sales tax lol 😁 😁
You state that like most of these contestants even have jobs.
exactly the reason why you should be in control, by taking any of those offers
The people who cashed out early did the smart thing, because 5mil divided by 2,000 is $2,500
Wait.
Isn't 5,000,000÷1 -> 5 million?
@MrTotalAhole That implies they somehow know they're going to win
@Squirrelex Actually there were only 1,000 contestants, as after 3 out of 12 columns or 25% were eliminated, the number of contestants that remained was roughly in line with the prediction
of 750 or 3/4 of all contestants. This leaves and expected value of $5k at the start, but with extremely high variance. I'm not sure where the 2000 number came from.
@@bobbob0507 wrong, there’s 2000. Before Beast Games came out he had another video with 2000 people, where he eliminated half of them so the remaining half can proceed to Beast Games.
@@bobbob0507 What Im not understanding is the whole comment about splitting $5M by 2K people?
There rule is there can only be one winner of the 5M.
Im seriously not understanding how squirrel came to that statement to begin with? Also cashing out for 1M has nothing to do with splitting 5M, because no one is splitting 5M.
???
Only thing I can figure is what he means is if everyone hit the button to quit except one person that the winner would somehow feel obligated to split the pot equally between the losers/quitters?
Now make them eat the mouldy Lunchables and wash it with the Toxic Prime.
