I love how the final phase of this fight is the easiest on purpose. Shulk not only got a huge upgrade to his weapon, with an insane critical hit rate and an even better auto attack stat, but the monado itself is now specifically for slaying GODS. Zanza, at that point, isn't supposed to feel like a boss. Not anymore. *You're* the boss now.
i remember a comment on another upload of this song. and i feel it sums up the mood this song instills. this is the moment the fight is no longer actually a fight. it's an execution. everything has led to this moment. the moment shulk's own monado awakens. the moment you gain the power to kill a god. the moment you rip away zanza's control over the future. the moment you transfer all control of fate itself... to everyone and their own choices, rather than those of a single, self proclaimed god. this is the moment you kill a god.

I remember when it was 2011, my brother and I both thought it was gonna be awesome, so we pre-ordered it, split the price and played it at the same time. Still took months, as school ran alongside the release, but barely managed to finish it before 2012 commenced. I can't think of a flaw except the low resolution of textures up close, but textures are the heaviest video setting, and it was on the wii (and released 4 years ago), so I don't really mind it that much.
the backgrounds and maps were beautifully designed and the biggest I have seen (I own the new 3DS version). I really liked the characters, I'll definately replay this again.

EXTREME SPOILERS FOR XC1 and XC2!!!: "Today we use our power to fell a God" The moment that line came up in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 final battle ... That was a stroke of genius by Monolithsoft.. Thats when it all connected.. Both final battles were happening at the same time! Both stories were simultanious.
Am I the only one who likes this more than Zanza the Divine? Sure, Zanza the Divine is damn amazing, but this just sets the mood so much better. It's an epic duel between a god and the mortals he helped to create.
I like Zanza the Divine more because it slaps harder than me slapping my knees while listening to it but The God Slaying Sword is amazing. They’re both some of the best final boss themes ever.
Rain Rider I could see it, like how the final boss of FFXV, at the end of it the final blow just consists of Noctis rapidly using a different weapon and attack consecutively. In game it could just be everyone using an art and Shulk always able to use his talent art so that you could end it with buster.
I've played this game multiple times and I always love it when I get to this part, even though it is the easiest phase of the fight. My favourite fight I've had with this boss is when I finished him off with Final Cross. Poetic justice at its finest :)

Such an epic final boss theme. Zanza's final boss battle is the most epic and intense final boss in video games in my opinion. This theme is an awesome conclusion to the final phase of Zanza's boss fight as you just claimed the Monado 3 and just need to finish him off.
Just beat this game for the first time. Sadly I had to lower the volume on my TV since I was playing while everybody was already asleep, so unfortunately it didn't feel as epic as it could have been. I'll make sure to fight this boss at a higher volume next time. My team was Shulk, Dunban and Fiora in the late seventies (level-wise). It took me a few attemps but I got it eventually.

Such an epic final boss theme. Zanza's final boss battle is the most epic and intense final boss in video games in my opinion. This theme is an awesome conclusion to the final phase of Zanza's boss fight as you just claimed the Monado 3 and just need to finish him off.
Just beat this game for the first time. Sadly I had to lower the volume on my TV since I was playing while everybody was already asleep, so unfortunately it didn't feel as epic as it could have been. I'll make sure to fight this boss at a higher volume next time.
My team was Shulk, Dunban and Fiora in the late seventies (level-wise). It took me a few attemps but I got it eventually.

3:11 is much stronger here than the DE version but I think I still overall prefer it over this
The words are clearer, it's still more clearly "Egg McMuffin inside of ham", but now there are others that are like "Normal visions, imagine that!"
