Darkly funny . . . you're an Imperial AT-ST pilot killing locals on a colony world in order to protect Empire assets . . . It's a Star Wars themed side-scroller. And it's not an easy one. A fiendishly well designed game. Good job and +2 Attabois to the design team.
If you just stumbling here and want to know something interesting, Avatar is a kind of sort of adaptation of the 1972 sci-fi novel "The Word for World is Forest" by Ursula Kroeber Le Guin. Give that a read if you're bored, or if you don't like reading, check for an audio book. It ain't bad.
I would guess that any semblance of an aerial bombardment would be enough to wipe out any "savage" on the planet, but it seems unlikely that this game hadn't figured something that simple out, so I'm guessing there's some plot device that prevents that or something.
Maybe they don't actually wanna ruin the entire planet with carpet bombings and ruining the echo system. Hell, the General says he doesn't really like having to kill Savages at all, so maybe there not aiming for the complete genocide of these people, they just want to secure a area for humanity.
Airstrikes only work as well as the ground forces that exploit them. And even then, they're not always guranteed to take the intended targets out. Vietnam and former Yugoslavia are two examples where air superiority didn't quite make as much of a strategic dent as was the hope. And yeah, as others have noted, heavy bombardment can cause undue collateral, which can have negative long-term consequences that may make it unappealing to begin with.
Raidenze the plot device is it being a parody/satire of some sci-fi games/movies , the robot is like a AT , you go to kill indigenous people of alien planet , etc

Hell, one of the main reasons why Hitler tried to take over countries to the East of Germany was because he wanted their money and natural resources.
@@Sujad Or you could think about what this game is actually referencing, the genocide of native americans by European colonial powers. And the United States of course.
Couldn't they just have used tanks? > Terrain is flat, no need for legs > Less exposed joints, won't get stuck as easily > Better speed potential > Lack of need for mechanical self-lifting = way bigger weight allowance = more room for thicker, denser armor > Smaller profile, allowing more cover for infantry Still a pretty cool game though.
If we're going to play this game, why not just weaponize the drones? o They're able to completely negate the terrain. o Require no on-board crew o Could make a great bomber/Close Air Support Unit o Fast enough so armor isn't a problem o Always has a high vantage-point o Multi-role capable e.g. Recon, Supply, Security etc. etc. o Boring, and defeats the point of science *fiction.*

Did someone say breaking the Geneva convention
More like the Geneva suggestion.
Well, they didn’t sign the convention so it’s not a war crime
(Then again they’re not human so it doesn’t even apply for them)
Well here’s the thing friendo; the Geneva convention was made on earth.
*and this ain’t earth*
Return of the Jedi: Darkest Timeline edition.
This new Metal Gear game looks amazing!
this game looks cool, but i hated how you never upgraded armor. seriously, you almost died like 4 seconds ago on your last mission stop improving your oxygen filter and get some armor for your mech that isnt made from tinfoil
or waiting a moment after a few shoots to not overload your weapons and having to endure a long cooldown everytime
Ff323S i think he should have choose that mode were both speed and weapons are faster since all he did was upgrade oxygen
to be fair, you don't need armour if you can dodge like a pro, but he doesn't do that perfectly either
Broke Dog yeah , but even so in that case upgrade oxygen and weapons and go for weapon mode , since you are faster is easier to avoid attacks
The first level's much harder than any other. Regardless o' your power you'll always take +80% damage.
I think at the end they need to have a work crew come out to hose the blood, gore and arrows from the walker. Lol! Really fun looking game.
I'll just say that the ending of the game brought me to tears and despair, and not just because the main character died, he died without any final credits or summing up of all his actions, he just died and that was the end, as for me, the ending is a masterpiece, or I just liked it.
Finally. Every revenge fantasy I have ever had against Ewoks has come true!
Walker on Amiga was such a blast. This looks great.
Darkly funny . . . you're an Imperial AT-ST pilot killing locals on a colony world in order to protect Empire assets . . .
It's a Star Wars themed side-scroller. And it's not an easy one. A fiendishly well designed game. Good job and +2 Attabois to the design team.
“This is your Walker, it is heavily armed with an array of advanced ranged weaponry”
“Haha, stomp stomp, lol”
Still better than the last 3 AT-ST style movies 😏
Ennemies in the back seems like an absolute pain, also the fire throwers are insanely OP they deal insane damage over time when you get hit.
bit like the old amiga game, walker...
only if they were actual minorities 😢
"They look so small from up here!"
-Helix Helicopter, Command and Conquer Generals.
"Their arrows pierced through our armor like paper" he says. Well what kinda armor is his shit made out of? Tinfoil?
2:12 translation:
No oil in here. Go back to McDonalds.
"Their giant arrows pierced our armor like paper." Based on everything we've seen in the movies, your armor IS paper.
Colonialism 2: space time

>It's brutal enough & pretty enough
>Has mechas
I dig this. And tap it as well.
I would guess that any semblance of an aerial bombardment would be enough to wipe out any "savage" on the planet, but it seems unlikely that this game hadn't figured something that simple out, so I'm guessing there's some plot device that prevents that or something.
maybe they don't want to go through the trouble of waiting for +200 years of terraforming.
Gives you ED-209 vibes.
"Stop being primitive, you have 20 seconds to comply."
Ah yes, genocide
Exactly. I wonder if the government with the walkers are communists too. They do look to try and be killing as many people as possible.
@@Sujad How in the world do you associate imperialistic genocide with communism, even in that mccarthyist headspace you're in? It's 2020. Time to open a book and actually learn what these things are about, Boomer.
@@dogtime7061 Because that's what communist countries do? Look at Soviet Russia. After the commies got into power, they decided to enforce their communist agenda on the surrounding countries and caused them to starve too. Like the Genocide of Holodomor in the Ukraine. Or like how China wants to incorporate Taiwan and the surrounding islands/countries into it? Hell, one of the main reasons why Hitler tried to take over countries to the East of Germany was because he wanted their money and natural resources.
@@Sujad Or you could think about what this game is actually referencing, the genocide of native americans by European colonial powers. And the United States of course.
Purge the xenos, brother.
This guy be the guy in the movies who would charge an enemy in melee range with a rifle..
I really really like the concept of this game I hope they continue to add neat things to it
The sound design is so clean. I love it.
Colonisers when they discover oil:
Couldn't they just have used tanks?
> Terrain is flat, no need for legs
> Less exposed joints, won't get stuck as easily
> Better speed potential
> Lack of need for mechanical self-lifting = way bigger weight allowance = more room for thicker, denser armor
> Smaller profile, allowing more cover for infantry
Still a pretty cool game though.
If we're going to play this game, why not just weaponize the drones?
o They're able to completely negate the terrain.
o Require no on-board crew
o Could make a great bomber/Close Air Support Unit
o Fast enough so armor isn't a problem
o Always has a high vantage-point
o Multi-role capable e.g. Recon, Supply, Security etc. etc.
o Boring, and defeats the point of science *fiction.*
is it just me or the commander or whoever he is have a very uneven face? Like, his nose is abit off compare to his mouth...
Dang it you're right, Now I'm gonna have to see that the whole time!
Mr. Farmtool, is that you?
@@randomguys7151 i may or may not know what you're talking about
@@haibuiphuoc4442 okay, so let me ask you this: Khajiit, and N'wah?
@@randomguys7151 nope, doesn't ring any bell of the Sixth House
This game would be so much fun in coop, with a player controlling the legs while the other shoots everywhere !
The humans turn out to be the good guys in this case.
That infantry armor must’ve been made from China if it was penetrated by arrows that easily.
To be honest they had it coming ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ they're just so stompable.
the Emperor would be pleased with you stumping down some indigenous without wasting any energy weapon use.
This feels like a game for the movie Avatar
Star Wars + Avatar = Perfection.
How can a man-held bow manage to shoot an arrow strong enough to pierce modern full body armor ? Like what ? The plot seems too forced
Spears reinforced with Plotonium.
Horizon Zero Dawn
@@av4010 To be fair, they combined primitive weapons with long lost tech.
Not held by man, but by aliens implied to be powerful
arrows heads prolly from some powerful native material, and they definitely have a high str too.
I like how ABG just stomped on all of them instead of shooting them for awhile
This is pretty much my dream job IRL.
What the fuck?
That would be my dream job too, i would love to smash wild tribes under my civilized mech or treads showing them who to respect.
A reimagining of Walker by DMA Design I never would have thought I'd ever see this :)
Finally, we have an opportunity to play as a "bad" guys. Honestly i'm tired of playng as a proud spiritual ragamuffins fighting evil greedy sci-fi hi-tech corporations/colonialists with sticks and stones. I want some domination/subjugation pathos.
This game is going to be a bait and switch though. It lures you in with that premise and it does a 180 lol
@@kloa4219 Meh, disapointing.
@@Autarke I think it's only optional to take their side
@@bartmite7786 i would go the imperium route
Anyone remembers Walker on Amiga? That was a masterpiece
lol who thought it was a voiceover at 1st?
Now we get to know what it was like to be a AT-ST driver at the Battle of Endor. :P
So we're gonna re-educate and re-integrate the native population into the soil huh? Nice.
This is the first time I've seen a mobile game that let you rebel against your old faction.
"what if the Ewoks grew a pair?"
Walker: gets into base
General Garay: *talks stuff*
Walker: can I get repairs now?
I really love this game because it is one of the few mobile games that is actually pretty good and fun to play because let's be honest most mobile games are not great and are usually a hot pile of garbage but this game is great one of the things I don't like in this game is the fact that no matter which side you choose to fight for you will die in the end that needs to be changed also what are the odds that there will be a Be a walker 2 game but either set on earth or on another primitive planet but with magic like those in anime like the gate and overlord and many other isekai anime that would be nice
That unnerved feeling like watching blood and gore on newgrounds and flash games is very nostalgic
A game about a TRUE hero!!!
If it's just rocks, spears and savages, why not make heavy use of fortifications and bombard only specific killzones? Moats would be pretty effective.
colonization at its peak
Please learn history
ehehehe you can almost feel the sheer joy when he discovers he can stomp on people =p
