For everyone who is mad at Joe Cole (John's actor) - don't be. He didn't leave because he was salty. His words are getting twisted and misunderstood. He is just pointing out the obvious, that Peaky Blinders is Cillian Murphy's show, not really anyone else's. It's hard to break out as an actor when you are starring in a show known for only one person in particular of which they will always play a more prominent role than you. Then imagine having to stay with a show for years playing a character that gets no development. John barely changed or grew in 3 seasons and was nowhere near focused on to the extent Arthur, Polly, or Tommy were. It makes sense as an actor with a lot of talent to give Joe would want to go somewhere else, where he could showcase his talents and get paid better for them too. As much as we all miss John, sometimes actors have to cut ties and take risks in their career. It's clear he has no hard feelings towards the show or actors.
caitlin b Well observed, I also felt 'John' got a bit of a raw deal in character development, with less interesting (and likeable) cousin 'Michael' upon his arrival receiving far more profile. That said, young Joe Cole will be hard pressed finding a tv (or even film) project as quality controlled, in terms of both script and production, as ol' Peaky Blinders. Personally think creator Knight would do a great service in focusing more on some of the serial's other key characters, esp. 'Arthur'; the drama's #1 scene stealer / sartorial meister, and how 'bout Benjamin Zephaniah's 'Jeremiah' gettin' some better input!?
i agree. Even Finn Shelby is getting more development as the seasons go on. I think it was a good call for Joe though as John's death definitely helped the other characters to develop more too.

They didn't make it quite clear how awkward the language mistake was in season 1. Confusing Romani for Romanian is like confusing Austria for Australia.
Maybe they mistaken it because most of the romani populatian lives in romania and also most of them speak Romanian . and also the romanian accent was awfull.
It’s actually quite amusing to us, all in all. Especially the Lee’s…because yes, they’re still very much around and real. I know plenty of them myself, despite being from a different clan. Lee’s are some of the most common romani there is. And they all get a kick out of how they portray them because it’s as accurate as an outsider can get to understanding romani tradition, while the language is just funny. It’s hilarious for us to watch them try to imitate our accents, while using the wrong dialect. But in a good way, not a mocking way.
As a Romanian who speaks very little romani I can assure you it is a very hard language to speak, given the various dialects. There are a lot of gipsies who can’t speak it. And it would be very hard for an English/Irish actor to speak Romanian given the extra sounds in pronunciation in our language
Hardy and Brody fit the roles brilliantly. It's easy to forget who is in the role and just see Alfie Solomons or Luca Changretta. Kind of like how both take a bullet in the face in season 4 too.

I had been cigarette free for almost 2 years and when I binge watched this show in 4 days by day 3 I ended buying a pack a cigarettes lmao proud to say I finished that pack and haven’t smoked since😅
I just can’t accept Helen McCrory, our beloved Gypsy Queen, isn’t with us anymore. Farewell, wonderful woman. Thank you for everything, including this legendary character.
Personally, I find the violence in Peaky Blinders to be one of the purest froms of love for family put on screen in recent years. If a man isnt atleast willing and able to take it to that level to defend his Famiglia, what good is he. Its part of loyalty, which is to rare these days. Il sangue non ti rende famiglia, la lealtà sì.
Did she say smoking was the "alleged lifestyle in between the wars" - is there any doubt that among the lower classes in middle-England, especially among veterans, that MOST people puffed like chimneys? Where does the 'alleged' come from?
Was totally devastated to learn Helen McCrory had died. Am just into season 4. You can get drunk just watching this show. There's a movie that I discovered that treats with gangsterism in London: "Legend".
I was on the set and they say that the actor of Mr bean (i forgot his name) might be hitler in the next seasons and also bonus info: mikel grey and jhon shelby are brothers in real life
Both of the things you just said have been around since season 5 for the first one and since season two for the second plus we all know full well that rowan Atkinson won't be hitler plus it's almost a certainty hitler won't appear as the show is set inbetween world war one and world war two . With your hitler theory , if it was true, it would be official already , we've already been told Charlie murphy isn't coming back and we've been told about one or more actors who have joined the cast .
I found Adrian Brody’s accent/voice quite distracting. He sounded like Marlon Brando playing Don Vito Corleone in “The Godfather”. Loved the chemistry of Tommy and Alfie. I believe they’re great friends IRL.
@@heathermelissa3662 What? How is that a valid response to the original comment? Damn, you people need to work on yourself. Being that pissy for no reason is bad for your health. 👍🏼
I just finished watching the entire series again, as I anxiously awaits the final season. I truly do not want to see anymore "celebrities" in the final season. I enjoy good acting, not features from famous people, that can never get out of the character of their celebrity. Tom and Adrian worked because they are incredible actors.
"The brutal murder of a horse" topped the list of violent scenes in Peaky Blinders? I don't remember horses being gratuitously killed, I remember two sick horses being put down, much to the character's despair in seasons 1 and 5. And - it was off screen. Not like the attempted suicides, Peaky Blinding, shooting, rape, and blood of many other scenes. BUT THE POOR HORSE REALLY TAKES THE CAKE.
So you haven't noticed the extremely loud and obnoxious part of society that believes animal lives are more important than human ones? I see those folks all the time and just shake my head.
John's character deserves to have more depth, freedom, the way Arthur's character had been developed. Still made the brave decision to cut the ties with the show and moved on.
I watched an interview where he said he left because it's thr Thomas Shelby show and he knew his character would not grow. His brother who plays Michael has stayed on.

you’re telling me the accent is diluted?? 💀💀 and i still BARELY understand them

"Its Cillian`s show..."
Thank God it is.
This was the best series I have ever watched. ❤Lived every moment 😊
Covid: Do you want to die.
Peaky Blinders: Hold my Cigarette.
I miss john so much. I get really attached to characters and John’s death was really one of the most heartbreaking for me.
Also even more heartbreaking is Helen… She was such an amazing actress and made Polly a truly iconic character, probably as much as Tommy! R.I.P Helen, Polly and John.
Cmon no one missed John
@@noway9426you’re dumb hard of the peaky blinders fandom misses John and has said that the show went down hill when he did end so 😂
John was my favorite character in the show... 😐
Me too. Broke me heart when he died
I want arthur's hair
Tommy's attitude
John's coolness but evilness
The three deadly gang❤️❤️🔥
Tommys mind
@@angrylesbian4702 yes but i like his charismatic

Honestly believe this is the best show on TV right now
I had been cigarette free for almost 2 years and when I binge watched this show in 4 days by day 3 I ended buying a pack a cigarettes lmao proud to say I finished that pack and haven’t smoked since😅
they had to chill on the accent for the americans 💀💀
I'm suprised there's also many English people who don't understand it.

I just can’t accept Helen McCrory, our beloved Gypsy Queen, isn’t with us anymore.
Farewell, wonderful woman. Thank you for everything, including this legendary character.
After I have watched this rules, I just realized that they worked harder than I thought it would be, and their hard works were paid of
Personally, I find the violence in Peaky Blinders to be one of the purest froms of love for family put on screen in recent years. If a man isnt atleast willing and able to take it to that level to defend his Famiglia, what good is he. Its part of loyalty, which is to rare these days.
Il sangue non ti rende famiglia, la lealtà sì.
Best show ever, fantastic actors, actresses ... R.I.P Helen ❤️
RIP Helen McCrory
Alfies scene where he was arguing with Tommy is legendary to me.
@@CY-1627 Who's ur fav character?
Other than Tommy. Bc he's charismatic af
Cillian didn’t “make” him leave, he said himself that it was better for him to leave when he did
Sad, John Shelby was my absolute favorite character of the show.
@TheManagement and so are you
Why? How?
Did she say smoking was the "alleged lifestyle in between the wars" - is there any doubt that among the lower classes in middle-England, especially among veterans, that MOST people puffed like chimneys? Where does the 'alleged' come from?
Seriously, my current fave series...I watch each episode. RIP Helen McCrory😢😢😢
Just finished all seasons, WHAT A CLIFF HANGER
Was totally devastated to learn Helen McCrory had died. Am just into season 4. You can get drunk just watching this show. There's a movie that I discovered that treats with gangsterism in London: "Legend".
I loved Peaky Blinders. Great show, loved every member. Was so upset to hear Polly had passed away in real life.
I was on the set and they say that the actor of Mr bean (i forgot his name) might be hitler in the next seasons and also bonus info: mikel grey and jhon shelby are brothers in real life
Is he not dead??
This has been leaked info forever now
Both of the things you just said have been around since season 5 for the first one and since season two for the second plus we all know full well that rowan Atkinson won't be hitler plus it's almost a certainty hitler won't appear as the show is set inbetween world war one and world war two . With your hitler theory , if it was true, it would be official already , we've already been told Charlie murphy isn't coming back and we've been told about one or more actors who have joined the cast .
They chose the perfect people for this
Steven Knight is a genius
I found Adrian Brody’s accent/voice quite distracting. He sounded like Marlon Brando playing Don Vito Corleone in “The Godfather”.
Loved the chemistry of Tommy and Alfie. I believe they’re great friends IRL.
I'm begging for a season 9
Do you mean 6?
Okay... 9? Really?
What?
😂😂
The fact that Helen was able to disparage the show like that and not get fired shows a remarkable difference between British media and American media
You people come up with the most ignorant lies to attempt to seem relevant. It just showcases your ignorance or pathetic brainwashing
I am fascinated by Alfie Solomon’s language: Mockery. I love him so much! ❤️
BUT THE POOR HORSE REALLY TAKES THE CAKE.
hahaha you got a good point
So you haven't noticed the extremely loud and obnoxious part of society that believes animal lives are more important than human ones? I see those folks all the time and just shake my head.
@@The0ne7777 Right? Humanity and empathy are great and all but people need to see the line between human life and animal life.
Yeah people are like that about animals for some reason as if people are not animals too.
@@AnnaLVajda I mean, mammals yes. Animals? Ehhhh.... lmao
"Finn" being vegan is probably the coolest surprise ever! How awesome. We love a compassion man!
John's character deserves to have more depth, freedom, the way Arthur's character had been developed. Still made the brave decision to cut the ties with the show and moved on.
I loved John Shelby and was genuinely sad when his end came. 🤷♂️
I watched an interview where he said he left because it's thr Thomas Shelby show and he knew his character would not grow. His brother who plays Michael has stayed on.
Oh, this video didn't mention that...
Cillian Murphy has to wear super thick clothes to act in the heat until he vomits.
While we watch and think it's freakin' cool, he actually felt like dying while filming it.

Why until he vomits ??

Why?
As in Joe Cole felt that he lived in the shadow of Cillian - I reckon he did a great job

Rest in peace , Helen McCrory 🖤
Cillian Murphy might look average in real life but the 1900s outfit fits him very well looks punished yet classy
In what world does he look average?
That man couldn't look "average" wearing a garbage bag 😂
Lets not forget cillian was remarkable as a side character in Inception and batman begins. I can understand john but he makes thomas so much more badass
Brilliant......Love This Show......Everyone Plays Their Characters Really Well......& I Really Like All The Clothes The Actors Wear......🙂❤👍👍
Damn....I wish John were still a part of the show....the brothers together would've been amazing. I think Joe Cole would've gained an even larger following if he had stayed. It may be Cillians show as the lead, but he needs his brothers to be The Peaky Blinders. 🎉Excellent video!! 👏🏼

Glad Cillian got the part, he’s ten thousand times better than Stratham as an actor.
quite surprised by joe cole's comment. i thought hr loved being a part of the brothers (as he said so himself in dozens of interviews).
