Awesome. Just what I was looking for. I have yarn similar to this!!
Isn't it lovely? Have fun making it. Please share a pic when you are done:)
I don't know how long this video was on here.. it's exactly what I'm looking for to cover the upper part of my arms.
I do have this very type of yarn - 3 skeins. Good to know to need only one. I also have a long black dress and wear this with it..wow.
Can't wait to get it going. Ty
Oh fun! Please do share when you complete it. I'd love to see how it looks on you.

Enjoy!
Wow!! This solves my problem on what to make my sis!!! So AWESOME!! Thank you!!!
This one was particularly fun to make because it was indeed so easy but you could make it into 4 different things. Can't wait to see what colour you do yours!:)
@@TheStitchSessions I have simply soft caron in a salmon/peachy color and a silvery/grey color. I’ve had it a while now, jus t couldnt figure out what to make with it, though the colors had my sis written all over it! :D
@@michellenash6802 It sounds like you have your next project ready to go;) 👍
Omg wait you’re a genius
😂😂 Thank you. I'm pretty sure I didn't invent the concept but I think it's one of the easiest and straightforward:) Glad you enjoyed it!
Always hated a shrug because of the weird shape! But somehow, I kind of like how yours fits. Not bulky and weird at all. 😂 . Hmm... Maybe I'll give it a try someday. 👏🏾👏🏾💐
Tricia! You should definitely give it a try. I was like you. I don't like how some of them can be bulky. I think why this one came out so nicely is because I used a finer weight yarn so it's lighter and it drapes nicely. 🤩
How many rows are for the shrug shawl?
I love it! I would like to do one in yarn. Please can you tell me, How many stitches I have to do? 🙏 thank you 😊
Hi Antoinette, I am not sure if you mean how many yards of of yarn you will need? I state the number of starting stitches in the video which I believe is 100 stitches to begin. As for the yardage, I used 1 cake of this yarn (623 yards) but you can make your scarf a little longer of you want to sleeves to come out longer. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. Good luck:)
@@TheStitchSessions Hi I made one, but the length was to much. My yarn is thicker. I think I have to do a half of the stitches 🙈
@@antoinettemarkarian5264 Oh yes, the yarn I used was a lighter weight yarn. If your yarn is thicker it will work up larger. Maybe try doing half the number of stitches and see what happens. If you need to send me a picture, you can email me at info@crochetcrafty.com and I can look at it to see how larger it got and your yarn. Maybe I can make some suggestions. Good luck!
Hi what other yarn would you suggest for this scarf, shrug etc
Ooh, a nice light weight cotton blend would be nice. Premier makes a line called Cotton Fair and it's lovely to work with : light weight 3 yarn. You can find it at Michael's and Amazon.
So pretty! How many yards of yarn did you need for this project?
Thank you! I used a full cake of this Red Heart yarn. It's a fine weight 2 and it has 623 yards in total. You may need less yardage if you use a heavier weight yarn. Hope that helps!
-K
@@TheStitchSessions Awesome! Thank you! :)
@@Puchuchi87 My pleasure:)
Did you use the whole cake?
Hi there! Apologies for taking so long to reply. Yes I did indeed use the whole cake.
Loads of patience..😂 lol ,very cute though
😍
Can this be made using medium 4 weigh yarn?
Absolutely! The size would come out a bit larger though but still doable.👍
Put a Pearl on the yarn to hold it together when you do your work.
Oh what a great Idea! Thanks so much:)👍
Do you do the chain of sufficient length for the wearer’s back, shoulders and tops of the arms? Many thanks.
This that's exactly it. If you can run a measuring tape from wrist to wrist across the back, that would probably give you the best measurement.
@@TheStitchSessions But when you are finished it looks as if you crochet from wrist to wrist and as a consequence the beginning chain is measured as the width of the sleeve, not from wrist to wrist..
@@Pouquiloury That's correct. I crocheted this width-wise from one wrist to the other so I could make sure to use the whole cake of yarn no matter how long my sleeves would be. And also becasue of how I liked to see the colours changed directionally.
Of course, you can do this starting with a foundation chain from wrist to wrist if you want to be specific about your sleeve length and if you want to change the direction of how the colours blend. Hope that helps!
@@Pouquiloury yes, this is what I don’t understand!! 100 stitches or beginning chains would make for a very wide wrist
@@celsaflores7529yes very confusing. But I think you could crochet a rectangle that would go the width of your back and stretched out arms and then secure it. I think she went the other direction which could take longer yes?
Hi i plan to make this but i dont get that brand yarn here in Hong Kong but i do have 60% wool 40% fibre the brand floral line. Will that work with your pattern?
It should work as long as the weight of the yarn is the same. It was a light weight yarn. Now, you can use a slightly heavier weight yarn. It's just that your final result will be a little larger. Hope that makes sense. 👍
Thanks ❤
what should the width and length need to be according to our body??
My length ended up being 46 inches or 117cm and my width was approx 10 inches or 25 cm. Hope this helps:)
@@TheStitchSessions 99 stitches give you 10 inches width?
@@silvialanus2103 yes, that's what it gave me. If you are a tight crocheter it might give you a little less but feel free to add more chains at the beginning if you feel you need them. 👍
How many Rows, did you Crochet?
Hi Mollie! I ended up doing 135 rows for mine. If it helps, I have the written pattern for it, free here: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/shrug-scarf-free-pattern.pdf
@@TheStitchSessions : Hi! Thanks for this great pattern and video! I tried to get the PDF pattern, but unfortunately the link doesn't go to the pattern. I couldn't find it on your website either. How would I be able to get to the written pattern? Greetings from the Netherlands.
@@Pouquiloury Oh my! Ok I will look into getting the link fixed. In the meantime, if you email me at info!crochetcrafty.com I will send you the free written pattern directly. Take care!

@@Pouquiloury Ok let's try this again. Let's see if this link works for the pattern now: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/shrug-scarf-free-pattern.pdf
Wow very beautiful but no written instructions please send them thank you Vivian
Hi Vicki, thank you! You should be able to find the free written pattern here: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/shrug-scarf-free-pattern.pdf
Nice! I plan to make for a gift. Thing is. I’m uncertain of exact measurements. Recipient is small stature and very petite. I’m guessing a preteen size. Any suggestions on how I can approach piece? It’ll be a surprise so I can’t ask. ~Sage
Hi Sage, You may find my sizing chart helpful for kids. If she is a petite preteen, one of these measurements might work. Just look for the length of the arms and width across the back for your final length measurement.

Let me know if this doesn't come through ok and I will make sure to get it to you. Have fun!

@@TheStitchSessions much appreciation!
Great pattern. The free pattern.........link does not work.
Hi there! That's odd. I just tried it and it does work. Perhaps it's the browser you are using? Try the link form here and let's see if it works: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/shrug-scarf-free-pattern.pdf
Also, try the link from the crochet crafty website under the patterns page and see if that's better.
